20% discount. :sly: Was only $124; a single day's work. :) Well, actually, less than.

Otherwise... I love the Jetta. Asides from the "squishy, powerless" brakes, it feels exactly like my mom's Ralliart Lancer, and the Accent. :D It's awesome. I almost felt like I was driving real life, but, without the "uhhhhh, my spleen just flew out of the rear window, but the rib cage is being forcibly confined by a seatbelt" g-forces. :)

Now, quickly, polar, get some TTs, NOW! We've got until tomorrow, to fill out our MPRs! Go! Class C!

I may just have to pony up and buy a bunch of stuff I will need.

It's 7 items for 20% off, right?

That's the only car I have any interest in (and its not much)

I have a question though, could I run time trials in the indycar if I bought it? If I'm class D and it's class C, could I run time trials with it?

You can run the series if your SR is above D 3.99, but it won't fulfill you D license MPR.

I already have MPR completed for both :D

3.35 D on road
2.5? D on oval

Gotta get some races done :) Haven't been on in a while but Charlotte in the SS is always fun and safe SR if your careful.

Thanks guys, it's all clear now. I also see now;
Rookie
• You have completed your MPR!
• Your SR is above 3.0.
• Ready for promotion

So I'm at 3.87 now, probably going to race tomorrow. Means if I do good I'll get the D license. Can't wait to get the Mustang running!

What class D oval car did you get?

Well, what I did was use the National car wich I got for free and wait for that series to get to the tracks I already had. Met my MPR there and wait for the end of the season for promotion. I'm not much of an Oval guy, so my experience there is very limited and the reason I did it that way is because I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere in the Oval side.
What I would do is check wich series uses the most popular tracks wich will be used by other higher licensed series and do it there. The National car seems to be popular so it's a good one to have arround for hosted or official racing.

Is the National Car still free? I heard talk of it being free from a few people.. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding.

I just checked, it still costs money.

Although, I will hold out if there are rumors of it becoming free.

Also, are all the series just not racing after tomorrow?

I think it's actually six+. But, :dunce: I've never felt a better simulator before. It reminds me of my karting days; I'm going around Suzuka, on two wheels, and running fast lap times. Well, I think that they're fast. Ah, well, who cares?! I don't. It's amazing, this car's so awesome for my driving style, I can just hit any curb I want to, and my SR will still go up. I'm on two wheels in most corners with a curb... the suspension's strong enough, that I can just beat on it for 7/8 laps, without even noticing any vibrations... Nothing will break this car...

I got it for free last season without even knowing it! I bought the Impala B for Week 13 and there was a promo running where you got the National for free when you bought the Impala B.
Also, are all the series just not racing after tomorrow?

All series wrap the season tomorrow, hten is Week 13 and it all begins all over again the week after.

Man, you have been a massive help! Do they usually have those types of promos going around the holidays?

Isn't that the car that was coming packaged with one of the other stock cars? Like, buy the Impala B or something and you get the National? It was going to be a limited deal before they were separated I believe, and it would be two purchases.

Done five (somewhat) clean laps of Suzuka; okay, I used a bit of run-off in the Casio Triangle on one of my TT laps, my bad. Other than that, I had a good session. Here's hoping for C-class license by tonight. :) That yellow might look nice on my car.

Edit: Darn divisions! Why put me in D6, when the only other guy in D6, ran D1 lap times?! No!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit #2: My lap times seem reasonable, for a newbie to the series, but, I don't know if I'm really supposed to be in D6.

iRating, division placing is determined by iRating. Make sure you do the 4 TTs to complete your MPR!

Jav, does that mean if I run 100 clean laps on Suzuka I'm in devision 1? (extreme example) Does it work like that?

-Safety Rating; number of clean corners you run

-iRating; a calculation based on average finish, compared with Strength of Field (SOF)

-ttRating; a calculation based on the Time Trial results, compared with the ultimate time possible (need to complete [x] number of clean laps to change)

He's saying that my average finish determines the Division. My interpretation of the Sporting Code, is that ttRating is actually more important. :guilty: I might be incorrect. Jav's smart about these things.

Edit: Two more time trials to go; my SR is still rising, but, I can't string 5 laps together, without having an off. I'm also (seriously) trying to build up my pace, in the Jetta, while I'm running these TTs. I'm down to 2:29.949 as my average. In order to be the fastest guy, in my division (D6,) I'm going to have to drop my average lap time by about 7 tenths. Not too bad, I think I can manage.

Basically,
SR moves you up
iR pairs you up
ttR shows how clean and consistent of a driver you are by yourself (which is basically just for personal reference)

I emphasized "by yourself" because some people can't drive around others to save their life, and SR is accounts for others anyway.

Hmm okay. I think I can get away with that, I'm pretty consistant through a race.. Hope I can stay concentrated with no one to keep in front of..

Thank you!

How would you all recommend going through the oval D license (without spending much money)

With only buying the "Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS" you can race 5 weeks out of 12 of the "NASCAR iRacing Late Model Series" without buying extra tracks. This info is based on the announced schedule for Season 4.

Does this change for week 13? Someone said that all series/races count towards your MPR in week 13, is there any truth?

I was saying so, because I understood the latest iRacing News that way. Here is the original text from the iRacing site:

"Certainly the week of October 23-29 promises to be lucky for iRacers looking to move-up the license ladder in time for 2012 Season 4. Everyone from Rookie to Class B can boost their ratings in the Week 13 Street Stock Challenge (ovals) and SpecRacer Ford Challenge (road) series. The Street Stock Challenge features the JR Motorsports Street Stock car at Thompson, South Boston, Lanier, Charlotte (both the Legends and the 1.5 mile speedway), Oxford Plains and USA International. Road racers can try to nab a higher license in the SRF at Okayama (long and short), Charlotte (road), Laguna Seca, Summit Point – Jefferson Reverse (aka nosreffeJ) - and Lime Rock.

Both are official series, with Safety Ratings and iRatings in effect, so competitors have a one last chance to increase their license ratings before the official license promotions for Season 4 are finalized at week’s end. Likewise, rookies who have yet to complete the category-specific minimum participation requirements for graduation to a D license (two official races or four time trials in each category) can do so in Week 13."

I highlighted the parts, which let me assume that I can fulfill my MPR to move from D class to C class during week 13.

Bought the Corvette home to 2nd in my split in the Petit Le Mans:tup:

Good driving from 90% of the field in my split. The HPD's were pretty well behaved to be honest. I had a blast; sorry to read that some of you had a miserable time...

Hehe, thank you :)

Hopefully I interpret this stuff correctly...

Yes, yes. Many thanks! Everyone here has been very helpful!

Now I just need to plan out everything I want to buy this year! (iRacing is truly the most expensive thing I've come across xD)

But I hope, is also the best. As I've found.
Very addictive. And I haven't even run a full season yet
