I think for slower class cars it should not really matter. It's the faster class cars job to overtake the slower cars without crashing into them. Now, if you are in the same class and are being put a lap down or are several laps down. I feel it's really unsportsmanlike to hold them up or not let them by. Fair game though as the blue flag doesn't force you to do anything on iRacing.

That's exactly the way I feel, if I know I am not in contention I will even slow up to allow the leaders to pass. When the leaders treat me with respect on the track (no dive bombing etc) I'll always give them room to go by.

I hate when slow cars don't get out of the way. I had a race won the other night and this guy blocked me a full lap until the second place car caught up then he moved out of the way. I ended up second, noooo.

Rutter200 there's a race in 8 minutes with 13 already registered if your interested still.
I'm racing it, the new baseline setup is much better. I just put a softer rear ARB in it because I can't deal with all the oversteer. And then there's the sound....

Thanks for heads up but got fed up and went and did other things. Down to a 39.2 at Oulton think I could squeeze into high 38's. Yes the sound is just awesome!

He claims it was unsportsman like, but quite frankly I can't see anything wrong with it other than getting mad because the guy actually raced him. I've just lost a lot of respect for Darin here...

This photo came to mind when I was watching the video lol.

When Shaun crashed in the first race in the corner leading onto NASCAR 1. The McLaren he was trying to overtake was me lol.

They seem like a great pair of racers but I saw an angry side of them there! :D
I've watched ISR for ages and not seen Darin get mad like that. :P

For the record, I didn't really see any blocking and or foul play there. I can understand his frustration, but it looked like he just couldn't get past him.. There's more than one corner to make a pass on as well..

I didn't really even see any borderline stuff, and he seems to think it was all very obvious.
I know in real time I can get a bit hot sometimes when I can't get around someone, and often I've thought they were blocking (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot). But after watching replays it's usually a case of focusing so intently while racing that in the end it turned out the other driver was actually being clean.

Of course he not only saw his replay, he posted it. Not the most accurate or objective review I've ever seen 👎

edit: did he really give the finger to the driver when he passed him?

I liked when he got mad.. Not called for. I can understand the frustration like I said, but still.

Lol! I thought that car looked familiar!

Yeah, no reason at all to get angry and swear like that at someone. I mean what was he expecting? This is something we have discussed here before but it goes back to some people's mentality on iRacing to just move over as soon as the presure is on... Personally if it's me you are gonna have to race me hard to get by and if you do get by I am definitely coming back for my position! I'll race you clean and I'll race you fair, but I am not gonna roll over for anyone!

And that's exactly the sort of driver I hope to race against every time I'm on track 👍

I just watched the first few clips. Most of the time there's room for Darin to go high next to the wall. But why the hell would you? I wouldn't dare make a pass there unless it was near the end and for a high position. Turn 1 is too risky for much of anything.

Just watchd it and cannot understand the whining. Seems like the car in front is doing a grand job to me. Hard but fair.

Exactly my thoughts! Why would you join a 2.4 race and complain because you actually had a race! Lol!!

You know I got passed once into the busstop and got back at the guy passing on the outside of T1, no contact, no damage, no offs, no lock up, clean and fair. Of-course this was in the McLaren wich has a ton more grip there.
But point is, why rage quit?
Why post in his show trying to make the other guy look like the bad guy?
The other guy was actually very clean and fair on his racing and raced like a gentleman.

I think Darin was expecting the guy to yield because he was a little slower. I don't really get it either. Some of the stuff might have been borderline blocking IMO, but not enough to complain that furiously about in front of thousands of sim racers.

I removed my name and country flag so you can add yours. Do what you want with it, just could you give credit? :)

Thanks man! I'll for sure give you credit, this car is absolutely awesome! Hopefully I can do it justice by scoring some decent results.

Edit: When I open the file, I only get a picture saying painted by Jack P brown? Not the actual skin?

~200 responses to his video and none that I read are on Darin's side.
Very strange that he's so sure he was slighted :odd: it's not like he doesn't understand virtual racing.

Lol! There's only 1 guy fighting the world right now!! At this point after watching that video, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a secondary account by him...

That isn't unique to iRacing or even motorsports. People don't like losing.

Every racing game I've played and every real-life karting event I've been involved in has featured someone raging about stuff like this like its "so unfair"...when they just couldn't cope with someone beating them fair and square.

I don't really understand how these kinds of people can really enjoy sports because they seem to want easy victories all of the time.

LOL, watched the video from ISR earlier and I was thinking, Yes Darin is correct about one thing. The gentleman drivers have gone, I even noticed this since I joined and at least since my first races in the Grand Am and how the Grand Am races are today.
But in that video I can't see much wrong from #15 car. He might have blocked illigally on Darin's second attempt, but nothing I would make a YouTube video of and something I would forget about before the race was over.

When you have the power Darin have, with more viewers than most of us his the none gentleman in this case.. And saying I'm not saying any names.. lol took me 10 seconds to check who was the car #15 in that race and it was Dylan Duval, I raced him in the Daytona race in the Grand Am opening race and he was aggressive and I let him go without a fight twice. Because I saw his driving style would end in a wreck if I tried anything else. And clearly I wasn't mistaken ;) I beat him because he quit after going off in the same corner 3-4 times.. lol

And don't get me wrong, I'm out there to fight for position, but I have the right to choose my fights. Some fights will end your race prematurely and some fights will be what makes your race. The hard part is to pick the right fight ;)

I watched the video a few times to see a couple of times the #15 took a really defensive line and almost wrecked a couple of other drivers but after that he was clean Darin could not get by him. Darin did have a chance when the #15 almost spun. If he went slower he could have went by and maybe not have to deal with him. I understand why Darin was frustrated. It sucks being behind someone who is slower than you but you have nowhere to pass them. Sometimes when I'm really impatient I end up wrecking us both, but if he/she leaves an opening on a straight, I might try to get close so the "car to the right/left" shows up so he/she can move over.

I've been running practice in the star mazda this week, and the people I've come across in those sessions have been really fast, helpful, and gentleman like, but that was just practice. But usually the aggressive ones are aggressive in all sessions.

In this particular case Darin shoud've just been smarter and use the guy to save fuel, then get him on the pits. From the looks of it the car behind Darin was never a factor on that fight, so Darin was his worst enemy here by hyping himself up for a win. He might have had the potential pace but he failed to deal with the situation he was at the moment.

I agree Jav, and he showed his cards on every lap. People like that are the easiest to defend against ;)

And Darin admitted it later in the video, that he wasn't on his game during that race, but that doesn't really make it OK to try to blame someone for being unsportsmanlike on what I would call the sim racers "national tv"

Just watched ISR... I don't think the guy was doing anything too stupid... But, it seems like he was too mad to even talk straight... Then he spun and raged.. Not a good move, at least that's what I think.

Lol! This is one of those rare occasions where everyone actually agrees on the same! Well except that one guy on Youtube! :p

I can't understand how he doesn't see that he's making himself look like a fool... Even if you think the other guy is wrong, you still should know that swearing and making *gestures* isn't good to put on the internet.
