You know what is the best thing I've ever done in my Racing career. SIM that is.

Hook up my iRacing PC and just jumping in with both feet.

I absolutly love this SIM. Granted I've had my share of ticked of moments. However the majority of my time is spent with a smile and ending with satisfaction. Wanting more.

Anyone following this thread not on iRacing. Take the leap, you won't regret it if you are at all serious about racing.

And if you are like me and jumped in when 99% of every race was dirty, it can get better after rookies, and some class D series.

I'd say most D-Class series are ok, when not on "Free Track" Weeks.

Last night did a Skippy race at Laguna Seca, was P2, but started from pits, as I hadn't raced Laguna on the Skip Barber since tire model changed. Ended up 4th coming up from 14th or so. Was wreck-city for most drivers.

I did a race in the skippy last night, crash fest.

If you want a clean and fun D class road series that's getting pretty good participation these days, the mustang challenge is your place. The car is easy to drive, and the stock tune is often just as fast as anything. I never alter the stock tune more than an air pressure change and lower the ride height down to the minimums. After that, you're good to go. I won at least 8 or 9 races in the 8 or 9 weeks I competed last year there, but you had to earn them. Top split is really difficult

I finally folded and bought the RUF :) . I have lapped it for 30 minutes yesterday on Laguna Seca and find it very enjoyable to drive.
If I'm satisfied with my lap times and average incident rate tonight, I might try out a race in the WSCS today 👍

I cannot for the life of me get my Riley to handle somewhat acceptable on Laguna. The rear end of the car sways around like its connected by jello.

I am slower than a turtle in cold molasses in that car/track combination lol. I suffer from those same problems

Its really bad going into that kink before the corkscrew where the back end slides out then the car loads down nice and understeers a ton then it unloads and gets loose so i have to catch it again and then im in the gravel. This Riley really doesnt want me to race it anymore

I get it the worst in the turn before that. I believe that's turn 5 if you count the kink before the hairpin as a turn. I have to raise my ride height from what I normally run too for Rainey which gives me issues

Mazda is defiantly going to be another drop week for me, Riley just doesnt want to cooperate at all. Time to focus my attention back to the Ford GT which i think is one of the best cars on the service atm.

I can't seem to get my riley to work there either. I joined a pre-week hosted practice and my car was so loose that i left after just 5 minutes. I used to love this track because I didn't own much tracks but now that I do, it's much harder than i remember it being.

Good stuff S! Tipani's times are just ridiculously fast!
I'll definitely get some races in on Sunday!

He's crazy fast. I was really just racing for second really. Got a bit lucky that 3rd ran into the back of 2nd in turn 1 (has happened in both of my starts this week). Allowed me to drive the entire race with no pressure.

Forgot to add, if you want a really stable setup that can run 45's the entire time, I'd be more than happy to share a setup.

I'll take a look at it Kamui. :) Using Javier's setup from iracing forums. Done ok for me on past weeks.

**Nevermind you run the Mclaren.

I'd like to take a look at it, I can do high 45s on mine on the race but I feel like I'm pushing too hard when I do it and hold back a few tenths in the name of consistency and safety...

BTW, good news for our Oval guys, the Toyota has entered production:

Just ran one of the highest splits I've been in in a long time. I was number 9 with 3700 iRating, and the SOF was 3400. Started 14th and finished 9th. Reset my personal best time, 4 times during that race. Winner ran consistent 44.8's :scared:

Here's the setup that I am running. I am finishing with 5 liters of fuel left so, you could probably get away with 1 click less of fuel but, personally I wouldn't risk it.

Damn that's insanely fast!! I'll definitely check it out tonight after work, I'm using up about 18 gallons for the race, at 18.5? I'm finishing the race with about .8 laps left in the tank around .6 gallons I believe.

Here's some of my video action from this week.

Mid Race Hot Lap 1:45.500

High SOF TV and Onboard views. I had to pick and choose my battles so, the first half I get overtaken a lot but, the second half is when things got spread out a bit and I was able to move up 5 positions from where I started.

I have a fun mx-5 race @ charlotte oval going in hosted, if anyone is interested.

Had a GT3 race at the Glen. The leader jumps the start, and is heavy on the brakes in front of the whole field. It causes a 12 car pileup. I get rear ended, but I made it through ok. My top speed was down 5 mph though, so I was a second off pace making me finish 8th out of 22. The GT3 driving standard is pretty crap. SoF was above 2600 btw

I was in a race similar to that. You wouldn't think a rolling start could be so complicated hey ? Very poor form for a B> licence series. I got hit hard from behind , 19 minutes of repairs. Half the field were in pits on lap 1. Ridiculous.

I was starting 11th, and I saw the leader floor it as soon as the pace car ducked off which is a penalty, so I was ready to take evasive action. The guy who started 12th didn't check up, and he split the middle of the two lines of cars who were beginning to change lanes. The guy slammed on the brakes right in front of everyone which made it 4 wide just before the start line. Chaos ensued
