That was my problem with the Ruf, wanted to run GT3 challenge and Former Grand-am, but there's never a good time for grand-am that's official when I can race.

I was hoping at start of the season they'd put the Riley on NTMv5 and that it would help out participation.
I am hoping they either update or build a new DP for the series. They've got the ugliest one on there now. The gen3 DP looks so much better

Yea ive kinda lost interest in racing the Riley seeing as the grids are fairly weak and the racing within the class is fairly boring. And the car just handles odd with the old tire model, back end swings out too much.

HEY GUYS!!! THE TOYOTA GEN-6 IS IN THE WORKS! HAS BEEN OR A WHILE!! I saw it in the forums this morning.
I dont see why they dont just slap the new bodywork on the chassis, they are all the same really.

This will defiantly thin the herd of Ruf drivers and probably wipe out the McLaren lol
Man I hope they release it before the season is over, even if it won't be elegible for the official series!! I know it will be my weapon of choice, been waiting for this baby since the day it was announced!!
With the Ford GT and Caddy possibly going into GT3 season 2 and the Spa 2.4 in the summer are set to be EPIC!!!

Looks like the windshield banner will be paintable which only makes it more awesome!!!

I can see the Ford being implemented but it needs a power boost to be competitive but the caddy i dont see how that could even come close to challenging the ruf. Also they said it would likly be released in the next build before S2.

The Caddy is actually going to be competing with full on GT-3 cars this season in real life a power bump just like the Ford would get it right there as well!

The caddy though is the most awkward car to drive because it has a weird linerity in the steering, like for me when i turn into a corner i will steer it in 90 degrees and get nothing so i go a bit more and all of a sudden its like ive cranked all the way. I doubt hardly anybody would even want to race that in GT3 challenge besides the fact that its free.

I'm proudly still McLaren in GT3. I don't see the point in buying another car for the same series that I already have one for lol

Makes perfect sense. Same reason why I am waiting to buy the Holden. But, the GT3 is a bit different for me for some reason. Because they are the current flagship and most popular GT cars in the world, I guess I'm far more interested and want them ALL! If they ever announce a SLS GT3, I will feint.

One day, I'll get to the point where buying another GT3 car will become worth it. If there's a handful or more cars, eventually I'll have to splurge and buy another one and get fast in that car. I'm not happy IR has the Ruf 0.2-0.5 seconds faster on average. To me, it's setting things up that way to make money. That's the biggest reason why I am not getting the Ruf

I also believe that this is a stunt to get people to purchase another car. But, it is believable that the RUF is quicker than the 1st gen 12C that we have. The 12C that we have was not really that competitive wheras the bigger front splitter, splited cannards, higher and different shaped rear wing would probably give us more cornering speed ability / stability. Which is what was updated on the car from McLaren for 2013. The 2013 versionvwas more competitive so, it could be this problem as well.

The Ruf is a made up car and in real life there is BOP to make it a level playing field. This is simply not the case with iRacing.

Maybe in the April update they will magically level the playing field between the RUF and the McLaren :)

The RUF GT3 car is a made up car though, and don't quote me to this, I remember one of the Staff members saying that they had the Porsche GT3 Data.

And the Z4 will magically be a half second faster than the 2 :)

Iracing knows how to make money...

After doing some races I must say the Legend Road series is more fun then it gets credit for. It needs more people thought =.

Was thinking the same. I had practiced a few laps with it two weeks ago, only to find out that at race time only 2 people registered...

A bit of light on the Road side and the direction we are heded from Tony Gardner himself:
Tony Gardner said:

I was just talking to Jonathan Butel about mixed class for next season and figured I would discuss this a bit more as we know there is a lot of discussion about the mix of cars especially in the higher level series, what series should they be in, some cars doesn’t quite fit together and all that good stuff. Keeping this brief, what we would like to do is create something like this over time in an ideal world. Frankly not that far away from much of this and some of it out our of control so take it with a grain of salt because we need the licenses and data to build the cars. Plus it takes a while to build the cars, you all know about that!
Keep the Corvette as a GT1 car and add to it another historic GT1 Car and have a classic same class GT1 Series.
The Ford GT is more of a GT2 car and like the Corvette fitting it in currently has caused lot of debate. Thinking possibly make that a GT3 car and put with Ruf, McLaren and BMW in a GT3 single class series. We already have that, just telling you possible continued vision. There is room for one more car probably and we could make the Cadillac a GT3 car but would rather save that room for a Mercedes or something else that we could hopefully get.
Then a Tudor type series (hopefully official with them as partners) and hopefully a new DP car and a tweaked LMP car and then depending on where the series goes the appropriate GT cars.
That basically leaves the Cadillac and Kia. That series of those two cars combined now is pretty popular but a 4 to 1 ratio of Cadillac to Kia and many people like the driving the Kia so they are a little bummed about that not always a good race for that car class. Part of that might be because the Cadillac is free and everyone owns it obviously but I’m sure also because the caddy the faster of the two cars. Some have suggested we put the KIA with the VW and create a front drive wheel series. Not a bad idea. We shall see.
Not to forget, we also really want to do the BTCC Series with a Honda and another manufacturer ideally, we have the license to the BMW BTCC car as well. Just slow going still on car data for either car, etc but keep the faith. Speaking of Britain, Donnington in full production by the way.
On the lower levels for mixed class, be cool to spice up & add a vibrant production series as well with cars like MX-5 and Solstice but add some other manufacturers to that like Volvo, Audi or other manufacturers.
Anyway, lot we can do but main point is it is ever evolving and we understand that we can make this area better and better. It is cool to look back even three years and see how evolving. It was not long ago we did not even have mixed class or single class mixed cars.

Good racing,

There were rumors going around of the Ford GT and Caddi going to GT3. 5 cars in GT3 would be pretty awesome. Though I still think the RUF will be the most popular once the Z4 new car hype dies down.

Shame that this kind of means that Proto & GT is gone. The HPD and GT3 cars together might not be a bad idea for a separate series. Make the schedule the same as well. Will help get more GT cars into the series as they will only need 1 setup per week.

They do it on the ELMS so I don't really see a reason not to do it. He did mention intentions of getting a TUSCC series going so that would definitely bring Proto/GT type racing back to life! Such a shame it will take so many years before we will see any of it come to life.
