I had the most entertaining and fun GT3 race I've been in yet. I saw a few other fellow GTPers in that race like @polarbear345 and @Silver-Sylph I finished 6th after starting 16th as #16. It was the top split as well. Video of my late race duel with another McLaren will be up here shortly 👍

That race didnt go to well for me. Had a pretty clean start then on lap 9 i think going into turn 8 a got on it a little to early and spun it straight into the tires. I really didnt feel like going on after that so i left. I almost got annihilated 2 laps before when a ruf completely missed the braking point and destroyed the car behind me.

I saw that on the replay. I don't know what that guy was thinking

Here was the big wreck on lap 2 in Canada corner. Lots of people involved. I managed to safely dodge it

Here's the battle.

Sorry for mediocre quality and/or camera vibrations. It's hard to hold a phone steady for 8 minutes

I did not dodge that wreck. I am the blue car who nails him. Over cooked the corner listening to everyone freak out about it :p

A lot of people have been finding massive wrecks on the first lap at this circuit. Oddly, I've had really clean, fun, close racing. A bit strange really. Here's my 3 results this week so far. I'll probably do another race tomorrow at around the Aussie server times because I really enjoy racing against that bunch. They race hard, cleanly, like Americans, and have a bit more speed like the Europeans. Best of both worlds.

First race I did was one of the highest SOF races I've ever done. Started from the pits and charged all the way up to 11th position. Potentially would have had top 8 had I decided to start from the grid.

Good race against Coppiters. Ran him as hard as I could for the final few laps but, didn't quite have the raw pace to be able to get around him.

Teammate and I finished 3rd and 4th respectively. Can't complaint too much about finishing less than 30 seconds off of top notch guys like Jonathan.

Is it me or is the "incidents" for many of the drivers really high? Was there a popular track cut or somthing?

You'd be correct. Not really a popular track cut but, it's similar to Spa where it is pretty easy to rack up 1x's. 6 spots at Road America.

1. Exit of T3
2. Exit of T5
3. Exit of T7
4. Exit of Kink
5. Exit of Canada Corner
6. Exit of Kohler Bridge

When the Z4 comes out in the next build, would anybody be interested in running a Bathurst 25% of 12H race? Probably do a GT3 class and then a slower class of cars I haven't quite come up with yet. If we could slow down the Caddi to the speed of the Mustang, that would be really cool to have a full field duel class 3 hour event around that circuit. Would be all about making it to the final 30 minutes, then duke it out.

Then you would just have a field of Z4's lol. It sounds like fun but 3 hours is a little too long for me.

I'll put my McLaren in as the only non Z4

I just DQ'd out of my first proto gt series start with 8 minutes to go...
I was running fifth of 11 in gt1 and i barely went off the rumble strip and it got me :(

I would!

GT3 series for me has turned into just getting the participation credits but i had a pretty amazing race with a close bunched up pack until pits started and got kind of a slow pitstop and had to fight super hard to get back up to 11th. 3 laps before the end 10th spun and was now only 4 sec ahead so i reeled him in but not fast enough finishing .6 behind him. One more lap and i would've gotten him since he had nearly no fuel left. And as usual lots of crashes and whiners who dont want to shut up.

I was thinking of doing a limit of 10 Z4's, 10 RUF's and 10 Maccas in the GT3 class just to eliminate that happening. Which would leave about 12 cars to race in the slower class.

I agree that most people would find 3 hours a bit long. Just, I don't want the race to be less than 2 hours because then Pit Strategy has little effect. Realistically I wanted to do 6 hours but, nobody would do that. If only we had driver swaps...

I'd be more than happy to do to 6 hour race with driver swaps. I bet @polarbear345 would like to be my co-driver

I'd love to eventually make a series with a schedule like such

Bathurst 3H
Silverstone 3H
Spa 3H
Zolder 1H 30M
Pokka 250 (Suzuka 43 Laps)

DNF equates to half points. Drivers, Constructors, and Manufactures Championship. With Drivers in top 3 getting iRacing credits or something.

Yeah... it's time for me to start putting together threads. I'm getting excited just thinking about!

For the slower class you could just use the Ford GT and Cadillac in the same class, or just BoP the Mx5 and Sol...
I'll donate a couple of bucks to get a nice incentive, and hell yeah to driver swaps and longer races! 3hrs is the longest I'd ever do on my own.

I was just doing testing in both of those cars to test that actually. I was really hoping that the cars would be slower in a straight line than the GT3's but, it appears that the Caddi is still about 5kmh faster than the GT3's with 250kg added and the Ford GT just starts to get slower in a straight line from 175kg onward. Anybody know the weight percentage needed to equalize the cars?

Well, just spent the last hour putting together the first document for the now named iRacing GT Enduro Championship. It's still a work in progress of course. Feel free to leave ideas.

*EDIT*

I am looking for someone with racing knowledge to potentially take up the role of Race Control. Ideally I'd like to have Race control to monitor penalties and throw full course cautions. Yes, full course cautions. There will be a few wrecks involving 2 or more cars during the race, if it is a massive accident I'd like to throw full course cautions for 2 reasons. 1. To add futhur interest to the race with strategy 2. 3 hours is a long race, a few full course cautions to break it up could be vital.

Love the FCY idea. I'm interesting in racing rather than stewarding though. I'm game to chip in a few dollars if that ends up being the case

If I could suggest something, maybe a round at one American track. Sebring, WGI boot, VIR, or heck Mid-O would be awesome for that kind of racing

Mid-O because everyone loves Mid-O

If there were to be a US circuit making an entrance, it will most likely be Circuit of the Americas. Wide, long, and a lot of runoff. That will be the most likely culprit. I was really wanting to do that circuit but, they don't currently have a major GT race held at it. Definitely will be on the ideas list though.

What is FCY by the way?

No doubt about it. It's a tricky place to be quick

FCY is Full Course Yellow

COTA would be fun assuming it does come out next build. If not COTA, I'd say VIR or Mid-O.

The track I really would like to see on there would be Barber, but I know basically no one owns it.

Opinions on this schedule change?

Bathurst 86 Minutes
Silverstone 3 Hours
Suzuka 250 Kilometers
Spa 3 Hours
Circuit Of The Americas 3 Hours

Both good options. I think Homestead Road Course B (Grand Am Configuration) would be really good for mixed class racing but, unfortunately I'd doubt many own the course as it is only used for ovals now.
