It does, it was supposed to get a full physics overhaul a year ago and it got mysteriously pushed back never to be heard of again... Real shame because it was the most enjoyable car to drive in the service on the original tire model, was an absolute blast!
I really hope we get a current Spec DP soon, hopefully a Corvette one!

RaceRoom has the Corvette DP. I'm hoping Iracing does a SLM where we get to pick our body style Ford, Corvette, or generic Riley for the BMW. The DP is suffering from IndyCar syndrome. Both are outdated. When the new IndyCar comes out, the old one will be run about as much as the COT is now. Same when the new DP comes out. Participation will go way up at that point
 
I was going to run it in the Corvette, but I haven't practiced enough and it's just not my week in iRacing, probably best to avoid it this time :lol:

Thinking about it. I had a rough day at work and don't know if my arms can handle a 2 hours race tonight :(. I'm doing practice now to see how i feel.
 
Gonna run the Corvette. Objective: make it to the 2 hour mark in one piece , my pace is in the 59s so a good result will come from survival , not pace.

I was shooting for tonight's race but haven't really had any practice other than about 6 laps and I'm about 1.5 seconds off of my practice times from a couple of weeks back. Also wanted to get my triple screens going for the race, maybe I'll run tomorrow if I get everything together...
 
I feel like there wont be near as much splits as there was for the 2.4 since you only see 2 full practice sessions at a time. Oh well though hoping for some equal/decent class distribution.

It sucks because iRacing did absolutely nothing to promote the race, it used to be the 2nd biggest race of the year with over 15 splits and now most people don't even know it's going on!
 
Yea Road Warrior isnt exactly doing all that well. Itll be intresting to see how many show up for this race, the 2.4 had atleast 400 i think show for the first race.

Also won the 2nd split Ford GT class by bad luck on the leading gt's part getting d/c with 10 min left.

I finished 4th in the 2nd split which was a good salvage. I got hit from behind by another Vette about 10 laps in. Pushed me off track and I dropped about 4 places. Shame because we had a good battle going on with the mid pack Vettes early on. I nailed the 2nd pit stop though. No tyres , 30 litres of fuel , perfect. :)

I basically came to a near dead stop for this one vette and he still stayed next to me so that was frustrating. But early on the GT battle was good with me 2nd and 4th keeping a tight pack for awhile before the 1st round of pit stops.

I'm planning on hitting up one of the Sebring races tomorrow. Either in the Corvette or the Ford, depends which one I feel better in. Can anyone throw me a setup?

I used Andre Martin's setup for the ford gt, he is always super fast and the car feels very stable, i only tweaked the toe and brake bias a little to make it a little more comfortable for me.

Yeah I had the same thing with some of the HPDs. You'd stay wide through a turn waiting for them to get past but they would just hang there making it slow and awkward for everyone. Still , I thought the driving standard was pretty good in our split. I'm sure the guy that rear ended me misjudged his braking mark. Congrats on the win too man !
 
I REALLY wish ppl would pay more attention to the relative screen when they go off track/crash or spin :banghead::banghead::banghead:.

SNAIL Racing is in development of an iRacing league. If anyone has followed or knows SNAIL, knows it will be highly organized and first class.

Hopefully some you racers will have interest and join in.

Any plans to run earlier in the day than 10-30pm?
 
Well, I was so close to the 4000 iRating Club and then I go and cock up a race before the start. Lapse in concentration and spun in the corkskrew giving myself and 3 other drivers a lot of damage. I'm such an idiot sometimes...
