I think we have some bad luck on our hands. GTP has been having a few problems since the arrival of GTP6.

Yes, there have been a few coincidental hiccups along the way.

Many of them are now solved.

*Fair warning* with the advent of the new server, Jordan has decided to re-write the AUP and TOS. He's giving moderators more ability to clean up the forums and drag it up from the spam fest it is slowly settling into.

C'mon, do you really need 25 posts per day?

I'm not really too concerned about the 'spamfest' that's going on here. Anyone want a real spamfest? Check out the boards at halflife2.net, a constant influx of noobs leads to many threads overlapping topics already covered, not to mention the recent problem they just had with asshats posting HL2 spoilers. Thank god they have good moderators there, otherwise that place would be overrun very quickly. I don't think GTP has too much of a spam problem, but it should be kept under complete control, which I'm sure our great mods will do.

Hmm, the problem of spam etc. is quite bad but mostly it's in areas of the forums that I don't visit all that often. I'm glad that the moderators are cleaning up the place but I hope it won't get so bad that people will be afraid they'll get a warning for merely posting a joke or something.

No, the intent is not to ruin a friendly forum and make it into some on-topic or else board with no sense of humor. The intent is just to encourage people to think before they type.
