Simply childish 👎

I'd say you have a nice metaphor there, I can't say whether its true yet until GT5 is released though ;). I think GT5 certainly appears to be a "re-imagining" of the GT series, going by what we have seen in Prologue, GTPSP and the licensing of official motorsport series in the game. Its not a simple sequel.

Yeah, I too think GT5 will be a case of GT-redefined. I think Turn10's opinionated leader will then be at liberty to eat his own hat / shoes / etc. No more staleness for us!

Honestly the more I look at these forums the more I am entertained. Brilliant.

Is GT5 a supernova or a pheonix. Neither, it's simply a sociology experiment to see how longer they can delay the release and what are the effects upon the human race of such an anticipated product..

Hope the Supernova-effect will absorb Forza along its path or suck it up through the black hole it creates after, either way i hope those smug M$-creatures mocking the original they shamelessly copied, extending even to naming it in the same language, will see their remarks backfire to the point of having to change their diet to a lifelong supply of humble pie.

And yet, when something about this video game gets released, or if bad news comes about this video game, this forum explodes in hate or love...

Technically speaking....yes it is a video game....but the way GT has developed, it's a lot more than just a game for a lot of people.

Just ask the two winners of GT Academy as one example...

...for me personally, GT was a game that broadened my car knowledge beyond what I thought it would when I joined the series in GT3...now and days it's almost like a tool for many things....to educate people on car culture, to use as a simulator for pros and amateurs and "gamers", and to create REAL LIFE RACING DRIVERS. What other games (if you can call it that) do that? Just my two cents and opinion.

As for this thread, welcome Gran_Turismo....I thought the post was quite mind-tingling haha. If nothing else, it's at least a little more fun and thought-provoking than another release date thread (ask around if you don't know what I'm talking about).

I didn't say it in a bad way. I agree with everything you say, and that is mostly my sentiment. After all, we're all here for a reason, right? We share the love and enthusiasm for the Gran Turismo franchise. I have always loved cars and motorsports but GT got me into imports from Japan and let me know about not very famous brands (in the west) like Lancia and TVR to name two of them. I can most definetly say that GT has changed my life.

It's just that this topic seems a bit over the top to be honest... considering this is, after all, software on a video game console.

Thank you so much for the responses guys. All are welcomed. I'm glad to see that some understand what I'm talking, even if they do, don't, or somewhat agree with what I mean't.

I appreciate it.

It's the tortoise that's about to come out of hibernation to beat Turn10s hare.

Yep, and that tortoise will have a pair of Saturn 5 rockets on it's back just to burn the hare (aka T10) into submission. :trouble:

People who talk in metaphors can shampoo my crotch!

I couldn't help but  at that.

I've never tried fortsa... but I hear it's nice.

Or was that footsal?

GT5 will actually be more like dog. You'll love him as a puppy. Love him more as the months go by and you learn more about him. Train him to do tricks. Go out to the park with him.

Then you forget about him after a year or two when you go off to College, leave him at your parents or your sister's house. See him again every summer. Rebond when you graduate.

Take him with you when you move to a new city for your new job.

Introduce him to your girlfriend. Tell her it's a package deal. He can sit in the back of the church at the wedding.

Then after another ten years or so, he'll be on his last legs, so you'll have to put him down. The kids will cry. The wife will buy you a new puppy. All will be good in the world.

Fifteen years of your life. Love. Commitment. Joy. Pain.

Seriously. That's how long it'll take for them to release GT6.

Aww man, what the hell? that was a sad story... I moved out when I was 18 and now I barely see my doggie. :(

Alright. I love you, Gran_Turismo. Welcome to GTPlanet.net.

Now, as for the thread. I don't think GT5 will be a supernova. I think it'll be a black hole for the rest of the racing sim industry.

...And your wallet! 👍

-> I think GT5 is on a verge of turning itself into a white dwarf...failure is about to happen in the near future, going its way to be a dead star. While Forza turns into a normal star (aka. the Sun). :indiff:

Ummm?? Dude! pass me the joint. ehhh! @$#%@$% Woaw! check out the sky. :dopey::crazy::scared:

Lol, unicorn:tup:
Yes, no supernova or phoenix its a unicorn!
Why?
A supernova is the death of a sun, phoenix died before he rise. So when do you think GT died???
Its so ***** simple, its a unicorn because no one has seen it

Deary me I cannot wait till this game comes out because hopefully it will stop people making threads asking stupid questions. "Oh I hope they make the grass the right shade of green or Polyphony Digital offices should be burnt to the ground!"

"Oh noes too many Skylines!"

Get a grip.

It's not a phoenix it's a pelican.

If this was AMAR thread, it would of been features on front page and everyone would try to decipher the crap out of it. Since it's not AMAR, people act childish.

A supernova does not necissarily end up as a black hole, it might just burst into millions of pices, that finally disappear in space or even end up as a neutron star.

:sly:

I'm just bored of the anticipation & wish we had at the very least a release date to look forward to.

What would be the harm in telling us when we could go & buy it so we can plan a week off work starting from the day its released?

:indiff:

If I'm the only one who didn't have trouble understanding the first post, the human race is really slipping down the intelligence scale. Seriously, guys, it wasn't that arcane or trippy... or are you guys just going out of your way to make corny posts?

But yes, GT5 is like both a supernova and a phoenix. A few like our dearly departed craste have compared GT5 to Duke Nukem Forever, or other games fated to release at the end of Time. However, we do have such tasty tidbits to show us that the game is finally drawing close to release, such as Prologue, the game I can't resist returning to, and the amazing - and also departed - Time Trial demo.

There is the fact that we keep getting these teasing videos, such as the GOW trailer.

There is the fact that Polyphony D has been hiring over the past two years - although undoubtedly a big part of that is because Kazunori had the demand by SONY for GT PSP shoved down his throat.

No matter what shape or form GT5 takes, I'm sure many of us will be astounded at what it is, and disappear from the outside world for days after release.

By the way, novas become neutron stars. ;)

^ Please don't include me to the people who acts like a child. I answered a direct question, so I gave a direct (on topic) answer. :grumpy:

Wow dude.. I'm really not sure what to say as I am rather confused by your thread. But GT5 in my opinion is a video game. May I take you to our leader?
