It's just too silly. Anyone can make a comparison as to what two things GT5 will be like. This guy just happened to pick some of the most far out two I can think of!

So true. Is Gran Turismo 5 a moon or a giant Lego ball?

I'm not sure. I'd say GT5 is a box of Coco Puffs, but it honestly could be a naked giraffe hanging off a cliff in the southern most point in Africa. But what the hell do I know?

This thread makes me laugh.

I would like to think that GT5 is not too far away, and I do indeed think its coming relatively soon.

It is worth remembering however, that its what I though around July time last year.

I didn't say it in a bad way. I agree with everything you say, and that is mostly my sentiment. After all, we're all here for a reason, right? We share the love and enthusiasm for the Gran Turismo franchise. I have always loved cars and motorsports but GT got me into imports from Japan and let me know about not very famous brands (in the west) like Lancia and TVR to name two of them. I can most definetly say that GT has changed my life.

It's just that this topic seems a bit over the top to be honest... considering this is, after all, software on a video game console.

I see your point haha. No I wasn't trying to take your statement as a bad thing, so my mistake if my reply came off that way. Good points though on the brands because there are many I had never heard of like you said until I played the game, let alone all of the specific cars that made an impact on brands that I had heard of. Example, growing up I knew what a Nissan was, but obviously here in the states no one talked about the Skylines or anything like that.

Fantastic thread!!

Hats off to you sir 👍 You have created a masterpiece of metaphoric engineering ;)

I totally agree. Try comprehending the first post flamers - you might learn something

This thread is only successful because it is funny. And that's exactly what we need. Humor!

Right on!! 👍 Humor is good. Makes the information drought more tolerable. Takes the mind off of things :)

I've got it though.. GT5 is a shiny silver disc floating around a planet called Planet Sony, waiting for a black hole to appear in form of star dust so it can go *POOF* and make it's journey towards earth. Many duplicates will be formed and find their way into the PS3 consoles of earthling GT players and fans alike.

Like the majority, I just want the game already, and pointless polls like this don't really help matters in that regard. Still, I added to the obvious statistic.

I know it's a Dodge Viper ACR ;)

Wait, what? And you're saying that forming a rather insightful metaphor - whether GT5 will be the GT to end all GTs or rather the GT to re-invigorate the series into a renewed long life - is silly?

Quite what a Giraffe would be doing down at "the Cape" is beyond me, and aren't they naked anyway? :odd: :p

By the way, I voted Phoenix. And I've also made a mental note to never, ever, ever give voters the easy way out. "I just want the game" is unfortunately not mutually exclusive of the other options... humourous though it may be!

Egg slicer?? Just wondering how you see it as that.

 Forza or NFS being the egg and GT5 being the slicer.

or Fortsa, whichever.

GT5 is a dandelion. Get's mowed every week by the gardener before it can spread it's seed. Then one week in the summer, the gardener gets wasted and has the stomach flu for a few days and can't mow the lawn. So the dandelion changes from a flower into that white poofy thing and then the wind blows and the seeds get spread all over the world. GT5 is a dandelion.

GT5 is not a beautiful and unique snowflake. GT5 is the same decaying organic matter as all the other games, and they are all part of the same compost pile.

The first rule of GT5 is, you do not talk about GT5

If this was AMAR thread, it would of been features on front page and everyone would try to decipher the crap out of it. Since it's not AMAR, people act childish.

AMAR never asked us something in the form of a cryptic question, he gave us information in the form of a cryptic message. There's a lot of difference. You say people would try to decipher the crap out of this, if it was Amar's. I ask you, what's there to decipher here?

I like this analogy. 👍

Same here. 👍 It even relates to both games so well. Probably the best analogy I have ever read about GT5.

Calling GT5 a supernova would also imply that it is the last and the best (brightest, most impacting) entry in the series, PD's last effort to make a truly great racing simulator, leaving behind a dead, yet forever glowing black hole. Your metaphor has too many implications . . .
We'll just have to wait and see.
