Is GTPremuim worth buying?

That's a little low Danachronism.
Mine was a sweeping statement aimed at bringing the general post quality UP, not to point fingers at anyone.
Personally I'd remove that link, if I were you ;) that's not the hallmark of a good member as far as I can see. :indiff:

Oh, the other thing about Premium is you get to change your name, which means everyone forgets who you were and who they're talking to! :p

Considering the things MachOne's done, I don't think it's low. If someone did that to me, I'd totally understand. I'd be pissed off, but I'd understand.
 
I've been thinking about going premium again Since I got money in the bank now. (pay raise yo!) But do to circumstances at work (my computer's been locked down) and dial up at home, my activity has considerably slowed down to the point that I may not be able to enjoy my premium status... :( Tis sucks, because GTP's been like a second home to me for nearly 4 years now, and I feel as if I haven't given enough back. But yeah, the faster load times for premium are well worth the pocket change it costs. 👍
 
Yeah, Premium's worth it, as Smallhorses said, just to get rid of the ads.

Now if only there were a way to reliably find new posts...

Other than the 'New Posts' link in the yellow box in the top right corner of your screen. I presume?

Nope, that doesn't work very reliably either. The problem is, it's constantly either forgetting I've read a post and keeping it flagged as 'new', or not marking posts as new that I in fact have not read yet.

If I log off, it marks every single post on the board as having been read, even posts that were made while I was logged on but hadn't read because I'd already visited that forum before the post was made and moved on to another one.

If I check the 'remember me' box at logon then simply close my browser when I'm finished, next time I return to GT Planet every post that was unread as of the last time I'd logged on is marked as 'new' again, even though I'd already read it.

No offense, but I sincerely hope the Premium forum is still not being used partly as a refuge for members to go and post behind non-Premium members' backs for some (I know not all do it).
You can't tell me it doesn't happen as I've seen it for myself with MachOne and muscle fella who was banned due to comments in the "Post photos of yourself" thread. These posts that also apparently, are made to "tease" non-Premium members are also getting unfunny. We understand. You have things we don't, so please stop with these comments.

Not really. Yes, we have a convo thread, but it's pretty much identical thread to the GTP-wide convo thread when it was around.

Also, if we behave "inappropriately" in our convo thread, it'll get locked, just like any other thread.

The things we have that you don't are name-changing, red usernames, bigger avatars, bigger PM boxes and no ads.

Eh, enough of that.

The GTP premium convo thread sucks. Really. It's pointless, stupid and like McLaren said, it's mostly about members talking trash behind non-premium member's backs, like little girls.

Thank you for confirming the Premium forum is still used by some to talk **** behind others' backs....I will end by saying that those of you who use for its actual purpose, thanks.
