I didnt read any comments,

but I think GT5 has more value for money than any other game I ever had!
I do like many games like- Hitman, Elders Scrolls, GTA etc.. all great games but GT has more real information more content...
👍

weather, time change and course maker

I never used to drive on rain tracks, until Spec 2 was released 11 months after I got GT5. AND I used to "always" say that time change tracks should have the option to choose the time of day for offline gameplay. I use the weather/time change tracks more than anything else, especially now that we can specifically choose the conditions of the weather and surface "wetness" separately. I'm almost completely an offline player.

The fact that I've been playing this long tells me that only GTA this generation can top GT5's value for me. Free roam driving/shooting was my favorite part as I thought the missions weren't all that special in GTA 4.

To me it is. All Gran Turismo games do. With that said this thread is going to be opinion based an nothing more.

GT5 has definitely been the best ÂŁ30 I've ever spent. No other game has ever kept me coming back every week.

Hardly ever played any another games since GT5.

What is wrong with stating opinion

If you are a car nut. This game is for you. Solid investment. No doubt ten years from now it will still be fun. My kids played GT1 at a friends recently and really enjoyed it. Seems ti me that would say that you get some long term usage from a GT game. My buddy not a gamer but watched us play GT for hours on hours actually loved the game and he plays it still to this date. He made sure his memory card was out before starting it. He had to get another cause it wouldn't even fire up with out a card IIRC.

Anyway yea I would say good investment.

My vote goes to the original Half-Life ... Great game and so many great FREE mods including the most popular online FPS ever, Counter-Strike.

Earlier this morning, I was literally grinning to myself, in last place for 2 races; losing has never felt so good.

Why? Because I am slowly learning to drive, really drive, these wonderful cars PD has given me, which I would be lucky to even see in real life.

Now with ABS off, manual gears (I know, I know, I should have made the transition sooner :-) ), I am really starting to "feel" the true greatness of the simulation.

So, what's the point of this thread? Well, I have had the game for a year, and possibly driven around 500 hours, offline. First racing to get cars, and money, etc, then slowly the game has evolved into simply enjoying the driving, full stop. Peeling back the layers of the wonderful engine, and getting more and more "in tune" with the various beasts of the cars we have on offer.

Does anyone know of any piece of gaming software which offeres better value for money? I cannot even guess how many more wonderful hours of driving this will hold my attention for.

And I'm talking off-line games. I can't think of anything myself :)

(really its a big THANK YOU to PD for their achievement, hidden under the guise of a question about VFM ;-) )

PS... I can start to imagine why PD have cars which you can't really race with like the Ferrari F1s or the Vettel. They are there for those who love to toy with cars, test them out on the practice runs (I am finding I am using the practice runs more than anything, avoiding the other AI drivers). Once I have really got to grips with the driving model, maybe in a couple of years or so, Ill get into the online side, LOL.

Unless you're removing ABS for cars that don't have ABS in rea life, it is not a simulation if for example you try a Yaris, Mazda6 or a Civic without ABS.

I think he means games heavy on content you guys not how long you played them in that term twisted metal 2 is * bare bones game* i played it since i was 2- 10 almost every day..
along with GT1
Gt5 has 1000 cars
300 something ish suits and helmets
73 track variations plus the dlc ones
In terms most games don't come close.. the game that hands down is tho is little big planet 2. 200 thousand really well made player levels a whole bunch of items in the game!! and materials!!! now add the RIP OFF dlc ..

I took them both into account. LBP2 seems like the better answer as it's an amazing game, but these are only opinions, so that changes the reasoning behind all of this big time.

It would be "better" to debate the most valuable racing game. Basically, if the question were more specific.
