Is it just me or does the Spoon Civic In the Professional FF race always crash on the last turn on Cote D Azur...?
I was tailing it for most of the race when it all of a sudden goes full speed into a turn and crashes. It then reversed and continued the race. But on the next lap i saw his marker on the course map crash into the same turn. It then reversed and continued the race and this happened for almost every lap afterwards... Is it just messed up AI... or Polyphonic Comedy?
Has this happened to anyone else???

Almost all AI cars mash into the wall between the last two turns at Cote on every lap.

cause' the A.I. is retarded :p

You want real fun? Run the Pro All-Japan GT race at Laguna Seca. It's total pandemonium. You won't come around a turn without being confronted by a cloud of dust and tire smoke.

Last time I ran there, I purposely lagged back going into the Turn 2-3 combination on the first lap, and as I rounded the bend, sure enough I couldn't see anything but dust and white smoke. As I got into the gas to go by, all of a sudden one of the brake marker signs for Turn 3 came flying out of the fog and whang! off my windshield...

The AI gets really stupid at Cote d' Azur in the Elise Cup. On the sharp S-turn after the long straight coming out of the tunnel. Every single one of the cars was crashing and having to use reverse there when I was playing them. But the 190's were by far worse than the MS's.

I watched the AI F1 cars in preview at Seattle. They hit every other wall....

im doing that race now in fact...

im on the test course and if im right laguna seca is after that...sweet:D

It always scares the hell out of me when I'm going through traffic before the last turn at Laguna. Half of them lose it there every lap, and I've been launched into the sand more than once by those morons.

Of course, if the AI pisses you off at Laguna, you can easily exact revenge by ramming them in the first hairpin, the corkscrew, or the last turn :)

Hey, Try the Amature mode All american Championships Laguna Seca Raceway, That way all cars are american and On the Corkscrew, Wait there and Watch The Cars As they spin out, The Shelby Cuda Messes up at almost every turn, so hes most likely going to be last lol,But its funny watching ALL the cars spin out on that turn....Japanese cars spin out there less then american cars, (i wonder why?)...I noticed this in GT2, But it was ALWAYS the Viper Team Oreca that spun out..Now its EVERY american car, sometimes i catch a japenese car spin out, its rare tho

:D just did the All japan GT champ @laguna seca oh god its so funny

anyway that poor penzoil GT-R was spinning out everywhere at the last turn and the corkscrew same deal with the loctite gt-r too:D

The thing is, at Laguna Seca, it's the Skyline's You run ANY race with a moderatly powerful skyline at Leguna Seca, and it's 100% Gaurentee to go off the track 3 times, the first turn, the S curve, and the last turn.

once, i believe it was on the amateur level american championship or whatever its called. The Shelby Cobra, in a race at seattle II, rammed into the first corner wall and continued to reverse and hit the wall....THE ENTIRE RACE! it didn't even complete the first lap....ScReWeD uP! :odd:

Funny though that on occasion when you do ram the AI the car control can be quite good, even if youve hit them hard (more than 100km/h spped difference) and can recover a lot faster than they should, where as the Human driver can not recover (in some instances) any where near as fast

never noticed this... tho the s-bend has its fiar share of crashes...

i crashed there myself in testing with the vantage v8 this morning *blushes*

bit late on the brakes where we? ;)

just a bit, the vantage takes a lil' bit of getting used to. the repair bill was fn huge tho!!! :p

I've seen that happen, it's soo funny to watch. They all kinda try to enter the corner at the same time. When I did that race, one of the cars got stuck and wouldn't put the car in reverse. The only for me to get into the turn was to hit him and move him. Also at Seattle II, starting a race there and I myself being in pole position in an R390 Race Car, manage to get the 787B in 2nd position stuck on the first turn. I had the inside line and wasn't going to let the 787B beat me through the corner. I pushed over as far right as I could to hopefully get alittle bit better line going into the corner. I would've had a pretty good line, but the 787B rammed right into the side of me and got stuck on the corner. If GT3 had damage, the whole field would have been stopped and likely have sustained some damage. Between the 787B and myself, the two of us pretty much covered the whole corner and left no space for anyone to get through the turn. But since the 787B was stuck there in that corner, I went ahead and hit him and let him go. Gosh, the AI is terrible . . . I've seen it happen many times that they get stuck somewhere. But I don't think anything compares to the pure comical value of watching the AI at Laguna Seca. I don't notice the comedy at Turn 2 as much, because I'm usually concentrating too much on getting the perfect line into Turn 3. But I do see it, and it is very funny. I don't think any of beats the comedy of seeing cars spin all the way through the Corkscrew and then trying to recover from their spin. Why is that usually that the AI slows down well before they should on corners, but don't do it on Turn 11 and completely overshoot the corner?

I like it when one of the AI cars gets stuck in a certain area of the track. It's a lot of fun passing him by every lap a laughing at him.:D

Yeah it is, unless he blocks your line into the corner! :banghead:

I just did Laguna Seca endurance, and the Viper Oreca lapped the CLK Touring Car 9 times. The C5R, GT40 Race Car and Esperante all lapped him 6 times. Every time on the last turn, the CLK would be going a little too fast, cut too far inside across the rumble strip into the dirt, then shoot across the track and out into the sand on the other side of the corner, cut back across and do a 180 in the middle of the track. He would then be stopped in the middle of the road facing the wrong direction, slowly turn back around, and finish the lap.

That must be very comical to see!

I just raced Laguna Seca in a race series (can't remember which one) The poor Esperante would 180 on the last turn. Poor, poor Esperante. Also, there's nothing more amusing than coming into the corkscrew and seeing some car spinning away into the sand at the bottom. Poor, poor AI.

Oh yes, I agree with you, it's great to see all the chaos that comes from the cars spinning out through the Corkscrew. The best time to watch them though is on the first lap when you have the majority of the field going all over the track.
