Do you think there will be a new sequel after GT4 on PS2 or it's over with this one.
I think it's over...
We will just have to wait 2-3 years. Can you believe that?
The ''saga'' is over

what are you talking about? why would the saga be over? gran turismo's spanned 2 consoles already and it will sure as hell be on the next

KY has already said GT4 will be the last one on PS2, GT5 appearing on PS2 in 2007 when the PS3 is getting off the ground would be pretty pointless from Sony's point of view, but as I said at first, there won't be another GT on PS2.

I think what he means is..........is this the last GT that is going to be on PS2.

I recon that they may release somthing between GT4 and the PS3 with GT5...somthing like what concept was to tide us over!

Yes, I think you're right but honestly what can they do to make it better on PS2???
You and the rest can also say what things can they do wich they can't on PS2 with GT????

p.s. where do I have to go to visit my profile? Where I can write that I am from Croatia?

I doubt they probally will realse something to tie us over. because dont forget that GT4 is online. So that alone could tie us over

^Tin K

I really do think that PD will do an interim release between GT4 and GT5 because people are not gonna be able to wait till 2007! Something like concept will come along, with probably another track.....It will be called GT Concept 2k5 or something!

As for improving anything......I don't think PD will be able to.....They have really out done theirselves with GT4...there just aint no juice left in the PS2.....more cars and more tracks is all that they could realistically do i'm afraid.....Unless they bolt a new graphics chip onto the PS2 or somethin!(hmmm good idea!)

As for visiting your profile.....click "my gtplanet" at the top of the screen under the advert and just choose what to edit from the side bar......

Robin :D

p.s..........some of ya post WAY to fast

well with the hd capability of GT4, they dont really need to release another gtconcept or anything along those lines because of the possible downloadable content. i dont pwersonally think that they will release anymore of those toyota/bmw/whatever demo disks after GT4 is out. it kinda loses its charm after the full game is out.

^ yeah.....they will probably just release expansion packs though the online service for GT4......but their still updates, none the less.

Concept and Prologue count as GT titles on the PS2, sorry to break your formula sUn - I used that myself in another thread and it was corrected. They're not new games in terms of an integral progression.

Why release a new title? Most people have got by with GT3 for 3 years. People still religiously play it, people still buy it off store shelves. GT4 will have more playability than GT3 could ever have expected - online play, Photo Mode, drifting and the plethora of other new developments will ensure people continue to buy and play this game long into the future. Jesus Christ, GT2 is still being sold.

If you'd searched for 'GT5' or 'PS3' or something you'd have seen GT4 was confirmed as the last GT title for the PS2.

well i just cant believe that with all the talk here and all the threads and posts on the game that we are all anticipating, why in the world would you be worried about the next sequel, or needing to be tided over with some mini-sequel, why dont you wait and enjoy the game thats coming out first. Just a thought anyway

GT4 ( and maybe GT3 ) exploited the PS2 hardware to the maximum so I doubt there will be any other GT iteration for PS2.
If my memory is correct PS3 is planned for 2006, more or less . Just in time for ...GT5
Enjoy the present, take 1 day at a time ( the Granturismooholic takes 1 set of tires at a time ).

Before my reply, I would like to congratulate Lance Armstrong for winning his 6th straight Tour de France. Congratulations to the Texan with Sheryl Crow by her side. Also, congratulations to the Copa America 2004 champions Brazil. Anyhow, back to the topic.

More Croatians? Croatia is becoming a GT country nowadays... Regardless, Tin K, welcome to GTPlanet. Sadly, GT4 will be the last unless Kazunori decides to come up with some commorative "GT Pack" for the PS2 including revamped versions of GTs 1 and 2 and playable on the PS2. I'm no psychic, but this is what I know. I think with so many features GT4 will have to offer, I think GT fans will get to play as much as possble out of this game so that we may never grow tired. And when things start to get old with GT4, we will learn of GT5 soon. Or we'll complete the game at 100% and as soon as you know it, GT5 will come along. Playing through all of GT4 might just be a way for us to enjoy GT while we can becase GT5 will probably outdo GT4 in many respects. But if GT3 was any indication for GT1 and GT2, how can GT5 outdo GT3 and GT4 (as the PS2 goes)? Likely, the PS3 will debut next year, PD will try to take more time completing GT5 (a weakness of GT3), so that within 1-3 years, GT5 will be released and we will all party with PD as having a 10th Anniversary of Gran Turismo's launch.

Or maybe I've been drinking too much. Anyhow, the last for PS2, but certainly NOT the last Gran Turismo.

I can't believe there are some people here still specualting, KY the guy that is making the GT series has clearly said, GT4 is the last GT on the PS2.

It is over, but only for the PS2, once GT4 comes out sometime in Q4 2004, they will begin to develop Gran Turismo 4 and will hopefully be ready this time for production for the PS3 sometime in 2006, or 2007.

They are already working on GT5, PD has a PS3 dev kit, I read that earlier this year that all the top develpers were given PS3 dev kit's.

I remember that about GT5 already being worked on, so it does make sense that it should be ready, even though it might take quite some time but that just makes it more worthwhile when it comes out. :)

KY said it will remove the gap between whats real and what isn't visually.

Man if i get rich i will fly over to Japan just to meet KY in person and congratulate him on making the best car game out there, which will hopefuly exist for my kids to play and also me when i will be a father :)
Man GT5 should be simply amazing, i'm buying the PS3 as soon as it hits the shelves. I hope we see some early pics of GT5 in next years E3.

Thanks :)
Well, Croatia has allways been an enthusiast concerning GT...

But till when will they make GT so the ''producer'' can go turn back and make other games. You know what I mean. You can't excpect that there will be GT10. I don't know but for me that is too much. I don't know what they could improve with all these sequels.
Or maybe they can improve with PS4??? But then.......
Argh, I'm confused. If you say that GT on PS3 will be a step to complete reality then is it over so quickly????
I think that with GT7 or GT8 is over on PS (???)
You know beacuse KY don't cares about the money and we all know why.
So? What do you say about that? Every beggining has an end.....
sorry for my English....
