I'm not sure I would ever be able race the Peak in real life. I could handle it at 40 - 50 but not at sustained raceing speeds. There definately isn't another track quite like it in the world, thats for sure. We Americans know how to make race tracks,.

I missed that Monster Garage episode .. I wanna see it bad now.
Even at 40 mph you're clinching your teeth, ecspecially above tree line. Infact, below treeline is nothing compared to above it. Maybe I'll make a camera mount and videotape a run up pikes peak for you guys(I live only 15 min away from it)

Sweet dude! That would rock.

But yeah, I'm definately going to take your opinion of it, as you've actually been there and been on the track before (assuming). I probably would have if I didn't live about 1000? miles away in VA.

Just for those who are new to the track - the Pikes Peak track in GT2 was a fantasy track that was made up with similar terrain and road characteristics to the real life course.

It would be amazing to be able to race on an accurate Pikes Peak Hill Climb course in GT4, but I don't like the odds of it happening.

I've driven the road in real life at normal speed and it was quite scary - i have no idea how they can drive it at speed. In some places if you went off you would not stop tumbling for a good 5000ft

It wouldn't be that hard to 'map' the whole 12.42mi course. GPS log trackers can record lat/long and altitude each 2 secs, thus they could drive the middle and have a pretty fair representation of the course from that.

All they would have to do then is work on the width in places and other slight contour changes.

Totally feasible if you ask me, maybe not GT4, but if we keep 'wanting' it, miracles may happen and they may hear it...

Pikes Peak sure is a drive, anything over 60MPH is crazy. turning around on a switchback and seeing nothing to catch you if you roll off

What about Deals Gap? That road has so many curves i had to stop and puke at the end of it, got me crazy motion sickness...and i was driving! That road rules all other!

I agree the odds of Pikes Peak being in GT4 is extremely slim. They could put another fantacy track in. That would be more realistic. Besides if they were going to have Pikes Peak in GT4 then im pretty sure XspudX would have seen the cars there while they were recording images for the game. ;)

I actually believe Pike Peak has a high chance to come in. Why? Because the grand canyon looks so much like it. I think Polyphony went over there and thought hey! Lets make a Grand Canyon track. They might have gone to Colorado as well. Are they far apart? I have no clue I'm not american.

XspudX lives right by Pikes Peak. He would have seen them. Yes they are fairly close (about a state apart) Arizona and Colorado, but like I said people would have seen them there. ;)

Did not see them or was I looking out for them at the Hill Climb but they might have been there. There was a Playstation 2 banner near the start line I recall.

He's not the only one! Don't mean to come off as self-centered, but I am too! Rally Racing is an incredible sport, from what i've heard. Some drivers can powerslide there car into a corner at 150mph! Now that's amazing.

I am from Muskegon MI. About 1.5 hours from you. Welcome to GTP. 👍

i recently bought the logitech steering wheel and i played a demo of richard burns rally or whatever and that game makes me wish i had a third pedal <8- ) you can stall and the guy even makes sounds when you flip. i want to import it or something for PC because its very realistic. i cant wait for the rally driving in GT4 :dopey:

i hope its not but that is usually in more rally specific games I.E. the microsoft games rally sport?, colin mcrae series, Richard burns rall (you can stall! <8- ), and lots of others that i forgot. i dont like the lap form for rally as much as a nice full speed rush downhill but once its out i will be too busy enjoying every aspect of it :)

yay, i m not the only one that doesn't like the lap rally races
I also don't care too much for lap rally races. Thats why Rallisport Challenge is one of my favorite rally car games of all times. There are a few lap events but I would say 90% of the game starts you at one point then runs you up a hill, down a hill, thru mud, rocks, sand, jumps, mountains, water, ice and whatever else to get you to the final checkpoint. 👍

as you know

in gt4 ,there are no pikes peak machine (as I know, except escudo)

I think KY won't make hill climb track just for escudo.

lots of cars they haven't revealed for GT4...maybe Audi Pikes Peak Quattro... :sly:

oh yeah the RS200 is on the car list 💡 that thing was a beast! supposedly 0-60 in 2.1 or something. class B was so cool........i wish they would come back :(

Mach 2 Racing RS200 (sometimes called RS200e)... geez I hope thats been modelled... 890hp... 0-120mph 1.9secs quicker the the McLaren F1... in around 7.5secs or something. In an article I just read it was 3.5secs 0-60mph opposed to McLarens reported 3.2secs...

Hopefully one of Rod Millens cars are in the game too (preferably both!!!)... then there's also Vatanen's Peugeot and the Pikes Peak Audi Quattro S1...

GIVE US AN OPTION OTHER THAN THE ESCUDO!!!
