Or do I just excel at it? I'm having a tough time deciding.

I'm doing the GT Rally event, and I'm at a crossroads. Beginner set, I won each stage by 2-3 seconds. Intermediate the fun began.

Lightly tuned WRX STi, ye olde subie. Like a 97. Not really that far above the other cars I raced, slightly better, but not to much. Gravel, again, 2-3 seconds per stage. Tarmac, fighting for my life to win stages. One bad move and I was in danger every time.

Snow though....

I was winning stages by 45 seconds. Not the events, but a single stage. Only aid one is ABS at one.

Fast forward to the expert event, booya, again. Fair fight for sure this time, but by a mile in that C4 WRC that started 10 seconds ahead of me gets passed. Yet another 15+ second stage win with ease. Again. And Again. And again.

Funny thing is though I've yet to even get silver on the Chaminox Loeb challenge. lol

So, is the AI Ridiculously slow, or am I some sort of Snow Driving god suddenly according to GT? What's the dealio? What do you guys think?

I was about 2 min in front in the second snow rally event.
So it seems normal ;)

For the tarmac rally, i had some problems with it but since i gave my evo6 0.5 toe in front and 0.1 in the back i can drive it much much faster through this tarmac roads. Finally i could overtake the leader in the last two stages after i lost a lot of time on the first three.

Tarmac was where I was neck and neck generally with the AI. Snow wasn't too bad, just keep your braking distances even longer than dirt. I did find Chamonix harder than the Eiger challenge though with Loeb.

I had the same car as the computer (unmodified 97 evo iv rally car) and on two stages passed everybody, and won the advanced by over 2 minutes. And I didn't even get gold on gravel/tarmac. So yeah, the AI sucks at snow.

The AI is definitely broke in the snow, if the course was reasonably long I'd always come in first place after passing the 3 other cars. This is after crashing and spinning and slipping around like an idiot.

It's because they only know how to do circuit racing (slow in, fast out, follow the line,...) which is completely different from rally racing. They're also idiots when it come to oval racing too.

AI is slow on the snow....I don't think the technique is any easier and it is still somewhat of a challenge to drive fast and smooth on the snow, the Loeb Challenge for example was interesting when i finally beat it as I was really pitching and setting the car up for each corner entry and exit....

I do find though, that of the 3 types of surfaces that's offered, snow is probably my strongest. Tarmac is still tricky because you are on the limit more of the time, and gravel is gravel and its just tough for me...

Yeah it was ridiculously easy for me as well, all the rally races where. Once you turn off all the aids that is, because they slow you down a ton, especially with Sebastian Loeb Challenge.

That one is very odd indeed.
In comparison, when you get to set times in Loeb challenge on snow or the license tests on snow, you have to show decent skills. These snow rally events don't make sense.
