zefffyou guys need to realise that a car that has been stripped of weight has had some or all sound proofing material removed. It may not even have glass windows! Wind noise is bad enough at high speed in a road goer but with no carpets and other absorbant interior bits or sound deadening material in a race car the wind would be very loud at high speed. Plus the fact that at high revs an engine is making high pitched sound that isnt as penetrative as bass tones.
cerbman1I hope they've allowed for a cars age, something like the E-type would suffer earlier from wind noise than its younger sister the XKR. The E-type would have quite noticable wind noise at 60 mph yet the XKR would have less than that at 100 mph
GrimlynLol yes the wind sound is realistic. When I get up around 140 you cant hear it that much, but at around 180 you can definantly hear it. Corvettes need just a little more aerodynamics with the window seals and cracks, otherwise you probably wouldn't hear it so much. I know that in a ferrari the sound is less at 150 than the corvette because the trimming and lines are alittle more refined into the body. All in all I love the added sound effect. Plus the fact that at 200mph+ in the game it's so realistic how one bump can send those cars flying. Well cool for me, frustrating for everyone else I play that dont grasp the fact that this game isnt a Need For Speed crappy physics engine.
Mista BobHas anyone else noticed that the wind sound goes away when your drafting?
