Is there any limit on the amount of cars you can own?

You can own around 4600 or so cars in GT PSP. Given the fact that you can transfer your GT PSP garage, I'd say at least that number.
You only get to transfer 100 (i think) cars from psp. Somewhere around 100 or 200 tops. But that aside, i can't imagine anyone in any near future will run out of garage slots...

based on the fact that both the PSP and ps2 has alot more limited harddrive space, i would asume that GT5 has unlimited space. but its just a guess.
savegames doesnt take up more than a megabyte anyways?
not like adding a few more lines in that save is gonna be a problem
and if you get a trophy for owning 1000 cars, and the game contains 1031 cars, and they will be adding more? no doubt the limit is at least that of the psp version
personally though, i want all cars, and then i want a couple of versions of my favorites

Apparently you can transfer 50 cars at a time from psp to the ps3, only to be used in the arcade mode. 50 is the max limit so you can keep replacing those 50 cars to cycle through the 4600 cars

But, as previously said, as there's more than 1000 cars, you ca at least have 1100 cars in your garage (and, there's a 1000 car trophy also, then ...)

I did not tried to buy a car twice, but, I own 2 Lotus Elise Type 72, as, I bought one used, and then, I won one. Now, there're both in my garage. The used one, as the motor is used, is a bit less performant (around 5 HP) than the new one.
I should try to buy one I already bought, but, I guess there is no problem to do that

I believe that cars you own in GT5P are automatically unlocked for use in Arcade Mode, but nowhere else.
It seems that Cr. won't carry over.

2.000 cars is your garage limit. I know it, my garage is full.

You can have the same car multiple times, no problem.
Once you reached the limit of 2.000 cars, you have to sell one before you can buy, receive or borrow a new one.
