Is there "dirty air" in GT5?

Exactly. Go ahead and slipstream in a X2010, you go from practically glued to the road to almost lifting off. (Well, not that much :p) As for "choppy air" I don't think there is any.

But the X2010 has a big vacuum that sucks it to the ground. These effects would be felt far less (assuming real life modelling is being done)

I remember during my flight training doing a 360 and running back into my own prop wash. The little Cessna 152 sure bounced itself around more than I thought it could ;)

In cars the more worn the shocks the more you feel it in real life. I don't play the game enough to feel it while driving offline. I don't think I've ever noticed in any driving game. Draft yes, dirty air no.

It's been in the game for quite a while (though fairly weak), but I've noticed it much more after spec 2.0 .

You know I think that's right.

After downloading the DLC ( Spa track and the TC cars ) me and a PSN buddy were testing Spa and the new cars. We were constantly crashing into the back of each other's car as drafting turned into impact in the main braking zones.

And I do think it's more noticable since the spec 2.0 update.

There definitely is, I was doing a race last night with a RX-7 (rwd on sport hards), and it was very apparent, probably due to tires, but during free run, I was quickly addingto the gap between me and a Gallardo on Suzuka, but when the race started, he got it front, and when I tried staying behind him in the first part of the track, the s-curves, my car was understeering beyond any feel I've ever had with that car.

Here's the thing. The RX-7 isn't producing downforce. Even with a GT Auto wing it's not going to produce a lot. You shouldn't really have felt all that much difference. You possibly should have felt more grip in that car.

I think dirty air is all in people's heads. What you're feeling is the draft allowing you to go faster on corners, which leads to you taking the turn wider. Though I guess I can't claim to be truly right unless I stop being lazy and test it in game.

I've felt it going through Eau Rouge on a high downforce car.

I love the small barely noticable facts such as this in this game. While its a small addition to the game, its these sort of things that make a techy guy like myself love the game so much (and another reason why there is no other game like it).

I have to agree joe. Ran some indy last night and the car would push high ever time i would get within a car length of a car. It seemed like the dirty air was at its worst if the cars were 2 or 3 wide in front of you. I cant say i remember it being like that before 2.0 but i could be wrong.
