Hi been practising in the Zonda R around trial mountain on race softs, skid recovery on, TC 3 & ABS 2 - all other aids off. After I have done about 7 laps I have to pit coz the rear tyres are so gone - in fact if I stretch it out to about lap 10 or 11 I can't even drive in a straight line. Has anybody else experienced this with the Zonda? Would be nice to hear if anyone has any tips to preserve the tyres for longer without losing lap times.

Any car with that amount of horsepower is going to smoke the tires really fast. The only thing you can do really is slow down or use a harder compound.

Cheers - I guess need to weigh up if its better to thrash it hard and pit more often or take it slow and look after the wheels! Think i'll thrash it hard - way more fun!

In real life that would work, but in GT5 world it won't since hard and soft tyres last the same ammount of time.

I am pretty sure you are abusing the tires quite a lot, since I can get 14 laps out of a slick sod car on that track.

Biggest changes you can make to increase tire life (in order):
1) Change driving style.
2) Change TCS setting.

I'd also be interested in knowing what sort of control inputs you are using (wheel, ds3 with analog sticks, ds3 with buttons, etc). That could potentially make a large difference, since most of the positive effects of 1) are gained by smoothing out your driving style.

OK well i'm using a DS3 with stick with L2 & R2 TC is on 2. Auto gears and try to slowly accelerate out of corners and will use 3rd gear instead of 2nd when and where I can to keep the acceleration down.
