Well, theres a hdd transfer kit to buy...or you could simply plug in your xbox hdd to your computer Time consuming yes...

Perhaps for you, Slim but I don't play online, I don't upload photos or anything like that. I just purchase DLC from time to time on the Marketplace and enter any codes that need redeeming (i.e. VIP cars) and that's it.

I've never heard of downloadable content that is limited to gold members only.

In addition the USB Stick thing has to do with copy protection so it may have a discriminatory effect against non gold member but not a discriminatory intent.

Who told you that? It's a damn code u put in and retrieve.... You don't need gold for that, you need gold for the storefront, picture/video upload, auction house, gifting and online play. But for regular codes XBL silver is enough

Now, when T10 gift you cars, you need Gold...... many hate it and it's kinda wrong but, why have an xbox without gold? it's pretty useless without it. And yes I know money doesn't grow on trees, but a 3 month card aint that expensive

No one told me, I read it on the retailers' very own websites. They specifically stated "Gold membership" and in case you didn't have it, they gave you a link to it. Just pay £35 and you'll be fine.

I've been put off the idea, anyhow. I really wanted that 1M Coupe but since I'm getting the LCE from Game and they only have the crappy Impreza, I'll have to skip it. Hopefully, they'll be available in a couple of months time.

Does that mean that you start the game with that exclusive car in your garage? or is it that the only way to have that car in your game is preordering at that given retailer? I would be more inclined to think that it's the former and not the latter, cuz I would be raging if it was

It's the latter, unfortunately.

If you pre-order at Amazon, you get the Alfa Giulietta and a code which you redeem. If you pre-order at Shopto.net, you get the 1M Coupe. And so on. In other words, the only way to obtain all 5 pre-order exclusives, is to buy 5 copies of the game at the different retailers who do this offer. Much like was the case with TDU2.

to clarify the preorder bonuses that need a gold account are the cars that are gifted to you (such as the unicorn car they already sent for fm3) NOT the DLC cars you unlock with codes.

Well, xbox gold isnt that expensive, as other say you can find xbox live gold 12 months for 35-40 euros. I buy my stuff for 38 euros from hong kong.

Before I go any further - there are always deals on cheap XBOX LIVE GOLD - right now you can get 1 month Gold for £1 - and how about there might be a 48hrs Xbox Live Gold free card with the game?

I can't believe people still moan about this before this generation DLC did not exist (besides PC which had expansion packs). So before you bought the console you knew there was such a thing called Xbox Live Gold and it was a paid subscription service and you knew you had to be online on GOLD to get DLC.

Its all in the name DLC (downloadable content) i.e, you have to be online - if you don't want to be online dont moan about DLC.



And just to add Xbox Live Gold is worth its price tag, PSN is by far inferior.

Yeah, I pay 1000 € for a TV, 200-300 € for a console and 300 € for games per year, but the 30-40 € a year subscription is way to much for me. I can not understand those guys.

If someone does not want to use it, then it is okay, case closed. But whining that certain features are not working, because I dont want to pay, is just sad. The Xbox 360 is only half the fun without XBL, you lose too many features.
