FYI, my whip is a twenty-oh-nine Kia Spectra in "Not a generic color" silver, 4-speed slushbox (because gear changes that require the driver's input is so overrated), and it has the only engine that was available to it in the US, a 2.0L "Don't need no stinkin' V-TEC" 4 banger that makes a whole 2 less horsepower than @A certain somebody that drives a Pontiac Sunbird that is as old as I am thinks is a good car.

I refer to it as "The Kia".

E39s actually fare pretty well when presented to the crowd that disregards cars based off stereotypes. But being an automatic, it's obviously going to get some flack from the manual-everything elitists. It'd probably get a low cool or a high meh.

I can certainly agree that a turbo estate from mid-'80s is cool.

No. One of them is a normally aspirated 22-year old brick that lacks both the performance and the looks to be anything above uncool and the other, while being turbocharged and considered by many to be the definite example of over-engineering a car, is still thought to be the choice of seriously boring middle aged family men.

The 240 is sort of cool just for being the eternal mover it is but the 940 is a different story altogether. A full sized family estate equipped by default with a turbo engine, a manual Getrag gearbox, a limited slip differential, capable of doing 0-60 mph in nine seconds flat from the factory, and all this packed in a shell that looks like the least interesting thing on the road. The very definition of a sleeper, thus yes, I think it's cool.

Tricky one. It was (and by all accounts still is) one of the best handling cars in it's segment. But it's a Ford. Could go either way, although I would tend to think it'll probably lean more towards 'cool' having been a WRC car and a BTCC car (production, still counts).

More likely to be Meh. It's not special and is just a pleasant runaround that gets good MPG.
 
My car is not on the cool wall, and could only ever be cool when parked in the shade, on a cold day.. somewhere north of 66.5622° latitude. Otherwise it's as cool as the midday sun in Utah, it's slow, dull and forgettable. It is a dark blue 2001 BMW 320d Tourer, with dark blue fabric interior, and faux wood trim, it has heated seats, and smells of rancid previous owner cigarette smoke.

The cool wall is full of contradictions, it's impossible to agree with.

Yes, it's probably a comfortable cool - far from sub zero material though.

Nope. It's very underpowered but it's a brilliant car to drive in the corners, it's very capable and keeps on surprising me with how well it grips. B-road blasts are awesome, however that doesn't make it cool. It's normally driven by 🤬 at stupid speeds with no regard for other road users.
I told someone what car I had the other day (EP3 Civic), their response was "Does it have a spoiler? Is it lowered? Does it have a stupidly loud exhaust? Do you drive like a 🤬? And do you put drum and bass on full blast with the windows down?"

No, it'll probably be just uncool. It has started becoming a classic, but there's still enough cheap ones around for yobs to ruin. There's also enough around that it's not that interesting, but looks old enough that you look like you can't afford a new car.

It's only cool when it's a stock E30 driven by a granny.

I don't know if my car is cool by gtp participants because I haven't seen the 2013 Renault Megane 265 Trophy+ on the list.

At first, I didnt think it was cool because it looks too high. Looked to chunky. How could it be an excwllent handler looking like that? It took one drive in Sport Mode to convince me it is just that cool.

Yes, I absolutely love my 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T. It handles brilliantly, sounds great, and it gets plenty of attention at my school lol. Learned how to drive a manual in it, won't be trading it in for awhile.

I don't think my eco-tuned base model would be cool. In standard form, it looks like every other blandly shaped coupe on the road. The lack of power, silver paint, and automatic transmission (as much as I like having a 'semi-auto') don't help anything. Stock, it lacks the character to be swayed either way.

It's getting there, if only because I like the look of it with the mods I've done and plan to do still, and I know that handling improvements have been made. In the eyes of the general public and many here on GTP, it's probably turning into a Fast and the Furious mobile. However, I have had girls tell me they like it (maybe 'cause it's an "Acura" and they don't know that equals "Honda"), and it gets looks driving down the street all the time (none of them in disgust or surprise), so maybe that overrules everything.

plus twice a year I spend about 14 hours over two days polishing and waxing the car with a porter cable DA

My car is noticeable, I get shout outs when I drive by sometimes. I even had a guy driving a Sunday / Garage Queen Ferrari gush over my car's look.

A quick google search reveals that your car does 22 miles per gallon, or 10.7 litres per 100 km.

Considering that my Dad could get a considerably more powerful Alfa Romeo engine to do considerably better than that, you might want to re-think your wording. (and no, it did not break down all the time. It's only failure was a broken cambelt after 160,000 kilometres.)

My car is a BMW 1 series which has to be one of the most uncool cars there is. They're mostly driven by people who want the cheapest way in to a newish BMW and that's not a cool statement.

Doesn't help that a lot of them that I see are driven by people my age who sit like they're on a deck chair and have black aftermarket wheels and tinted windows.

They're is one cool factor to mine though at least (like there is to the F20 M135i) in that it looks like a typical 1 series that most people will think is just a diesel or something. Yet to people who notice the bigger brakes, the town pipes and 130i badge (and the six pot sound), know it has an awesome 265bhp six pot sound.

So it gains some Q-car cool points but overall is put it on an uncool, which is fine by me as I didn't buy it for cool factor.
 
I like my car but I don't think it's cool and for the most part 85% to 92-93% I agree with what the cool wall has. Some cars would be a step down or up in very rare cases but the majority of it fits in with what I think is cool and have for a while now.

Probably not. Most drivers of my car are old men who think 20mph is an appropriate speed to travel everywhere or caravaners who treat holding up the motorway as a past time. Mind you, it was Top Gear's car of the year, so it might stand a chance.

Most certainly. When you're asked how your car is doing more than how you're doing, it's got to be some kind of cool. Someone once tried to buy Bruiser, but after finding out he wasn't for sale, he made his Fiesta look like him instead. :p

Do you think your car is cool (by your own standards)? - CRV - not cool at all, but it serves a purpose, it's very practical and AWD really helps during the long winters up here.
Accord Coupe - I'd give it a mild cool, I like the look of it and its surprisingly good on gas.
