Yes, more famous for bikes than cars, but cars have tackled the course since it was created more than a century ago (used by British manufacturers in the first decade of the 20th century as they weren't allowed to test properly on the mainland). Anyway, 37 miles of twisting, high-speed public roads to drive on would be great!
Agree Totally. For anyone who is interested, there is a good PS2 game "TT Superbikes" in which this track is faithfully recreated. (There's a second game in which other classic bike tracks are included.) I think this track is probably more important for Irish/British race fans. Doubt if our American friends know about it much.
In the video game world, the circuit of the Isle of Man is known for the arcade, and later Saturn port, Manx TT.
Reasons why GT6 should put this in the game : -It's truly unique compared to other tracks. -The breath-taking views would dominate the experience. -It would be very exciting to drive there.
This needs to be here I mostly play online at Nordschleife cause its like a run through country roads. If this track even gets added, It will be my new one and only track, After about 2000 laps learning it lol
That Mark Higgins video is great. I've watched it many times. Shows how easy it is to have a car just start sliding on you because of a funny weight transfer. Also love the Tony pond video. There is a great video of Tony pond at the Manx rally, getting seriously sideways and straightening it up just in time to squeeze through a gate. Epic stuff. Ok I lied. It's Ari Vatanen
If Kaz can do the Ring then the Isle of Man should be on his hitlist. (Then he can use the data for TT:2 on the PS4.)
It certainly is, but a short made up track at that, same as the ones on PS1's Moto Racer World Tour. PS2's TT Superbikes: Real Road Racing Championship includes the full 60km track, plus the Isle of Man Southern 100 (7km), Northern Ireland's Ulster GP (12km) and Northwest 200 (14km) among others.
37 miles of real (Crowned) roads. On an Island... And Narrow and Bumpy. And Fast. - Made all the faster by the proximity of walls, post boxes, lamp posts, traffic lights, dry stone walls, pubs... mmmm pubs... To the Ginger Hall!
Without a shadow of doubt, this track should be mapped! Maybe someone local could help if we ever get the Course Maker/GPS update? R.I.P - Joey Dunlop, a legend around the Mountain Course
This should be fantastic, in 2011 and 2013 I was there to watch the races en offcourse I did a couple of laps myself, I think about 15 in total. But after 15 laps you still know very little of the track, some places are easy to remember, some places are very similar to others. It would be very usefull to learn the track. A good friend of my is going to race there for the first time this year (48 days until the first practice), he was there in february en in the end of paril he's going back to do some laps with a car to learn the track. For him it should be a major advantage when he could drive 30 laps in GT6!
