$50 is a lot for a car wash....i'll do it for free...afterall, when you have a nice car, you pour all of your love into it when you wash it and dry it and wax it....mmmmmmm

Marius: I love you
Car: vrrrooooooooommmmmmm

What exactly are the benefits of washing your car other than that little shine it gives after its done and never again? I've never washed my cars and I don't really plan on it. That money IMO can be put to better use.

And even with all those Miatas, they don't have mine :yuck:

I want a 2001 British Racing Green Special Edition MX-5 in the game :sly:

It would be very cool to drive my own car.

It's always better topless :)

Theres a clear coat on top of the paint job of your car. So when you wash it, it is so you can prepare your car to be waxed. Waxing the car replaces the clear coating for your car so it keeps its shine/paint from coming off

i know it's like that in the Mustang anyway, so i assume it's like that in all cars

It depends on how they do the "dirt" in GT4. In GT3, as the car got dirty, it would just dull the reflections. And having a shiny car is more impressive in replays, but is otherwise pointless. There are those out there who say a clean car is faster, but if there is any difference, it's probably unmeasurable.

But if they actually have real dirt textures in GT4, your car could easily look like crap after a dozen races. So if you don't wash your cars, everything in your garage would end up the same dust-brown color. It'd be funny if, after a certain number of races in a dirty car, if a texture suddenly appeared on a window that said "WASH ME".. hehe.

I was talking about in the game, not in real life. I know what the benefits of a CC are in real life.

That would be awesome. I never really watched the replays for more than a lap or so, so I never really payed attention to the reflections on the car during them,. I also would like the "WASH ME" feature.

then i feel dumb. I heard (don't remember from where) that the car wash would better your aerodynamics, but i doubt that.. so i guess its just to make your car look shinier, since they start to look dull after a number of races.

I did an experiment on this. Washing the car didn't have any significant effect on 400m or top speed.

The only "spoilers" I plan on avoiding for GT4 are start-off strategies. I want to figure out for myself which car to start out with, which races to do first, etc, rather than someone telling me what to do. I might also avoid prize lists, just so I'm surprised when I get awards, but other than that, I'm eager to find out all 700+ cars/100 tracks as soon as I can (and get videos to watch for the two weeks between releases!)

I think what I'd most be interested in would be the total car list and track list.

I might read some start-off strategies, but it's doubtful I'll follow them. Some folks tend to take it a bit too seriously, and dig around for the absolute best car for your buck to start off with. While that's all well and good, I'm the guy that's going to be head for that perfect car, and on the way there, I'll see something else and say "Ooo.. I want THAT one!" and buy it up. :) Particuarly for GT4, moreso than the other versions, this one's going to be all about the racing.. I'm not necessarily going to be out to win the big bucks right away, I just want to drive.
