hello guys,id like to ask were can i buy online a potentiometer for my pedal t500rs.and what is the exact spec of these potentiometers.thx

MrBasher and I have been searching for a source of replacement pots for the T500 pedals for quite some time, but we've not had any luck.

:(

If you find anything on your own, please share with the rest of us!

its really fustrating i order a replacement pot on thrustmaster website and still theres no reply.i hope this is not desposable unit. i buy from my local electronic store the pot.with a number b25k on the pot.but when i put it in the pedal it only read 25 percent out put.

i dont know if thrustmaster is misleading there pot value.i have no problem replacing my dfgt steering wheel pot. there value is 10k with full output. my friend in my electronic store suggest to put a 10k value and see if i can get full output.i hope this work.

and for thrustmaster. can you please tell us the exact spec potentiometer value for these pedal.its very expensive hardware. and you knew these wont last long. if you dont want to be disturb just tell us the value and we will find the replacement for it. if not just sell us the potentiometer.thx

No matter what you get, it's going to need to be a pot with an effective rotation of about 60 degrees like one of these:

http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/4QD-POT-050.html (This one is 50 but will likely work)

I have not tried that one and haven't even asked for specs but it looks to be correct. It's from the UK and I'm in the US and I haven't decided to try one yet.

Seriously, don't bother getting one with a rotation greater than what I said. It will NOT work. I've tried about 4 different kinds that fit but don't work simply due to this.

thx mrbasher for your reply ,ur right i tried 10k still 25 percent effective.guess i have to wait the response from thrustmaster to sell there pot.how bout you mrbasher.they did not sell you a potentiometer also.i thought there are parts there in the us.

maybe you could help me to buy there potentiometer from thrustmaster. i like 1 set if there willing to sell it.if thrustmaster wont response in a week.ill be back here.thanks again for your early reply.

I've actually ordered that part and I have one on-hand -- I generally don't like the looks of it, as it is pretty much all plastic, and it doesn't seem like it's going to be anywhere near as durable as the original pots.

:(

Actually, if you're only getting 25 percent, I believe you COULD contact Thrustmaster Tech Support about pedal calibration issues -- I believe they have a utility (executable file) that they send people who are having calibration issues that allows you to re-calibrate the pedals when there are problems.

If you could install the new pots and then re-calibrate the system to use the range provided by the new pots, that could solve the problem.

Might be worth investigating as a better long-term solution, rather than trying to locate hard-to-find 60-degree pots that would work.

I did find this on the Thrustmaster Tech Support site:

Link: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/Manuals/T500RS/T500RS_Pedal_calibration.pdf

Step 4 sounds interesting:

4) Once the racing wheel’s auto-calibration phase iscomplete(and only then), pedal calibration will occur automatically after a few presses

Have you tried disconnecting your T500 wheel after you've installed the new pot, and then letting Windows auto-detect it again and letting it run though the power-on wheel calibration, then tried stepping on the pedals to see if the wheel would detect your new range?

Thanks for the reply johnb. I will look in to it. Ask theme for a calibration program for my pedals. Also gonna try to update to the lastest version software.i keep you posted if anythings happen. Thanks again

Well. There is no calibration tool. I update my thrustmaster to v43. Nothing change. Oh well, still waiting reply from tm. For how to order there pot.

a liitle investigating.i found most arcade potentiometer have 60 degrees effective range.that where im gonna hunt.wish me luck.there is light in the end of the tunnel,i hope.

it will be difficult order without spec.also i found out that some used an amplification or amplifier circuit.cuz i found out that the throw of the gear of from thrustmaster is half compared to logitech dfgt. some say use an amplifier board that can double the out put signal of the pot.

maybe you can invent something like that bodin.so we will have no problem buying the right pot.thx for the reply.

Hope you find the right one. And if you find it, let us know!!

As a T500 pedals owner and if it happens to me, allready know what to do is always better.

well guys ,thrustmaster emailed me. i already ordered from them 1 set of potmeters. it cost about 58 dollar including shipping. im waiting to arrive in the philippines.

i will take picture if it arrive.thx
