I mean i miss 5 Licenses gold. I lose 3 to 5 hours to do gold on license that have 38 secs........

Can any one says why we do it?:grumpy:

That, and the license tests are supposed to help you be a better driver. But I understand your frustration if you already know half the stuff that the license tests mention.

Because it's there.... The same reason people undertake any challenge.;)

In GT5, for me only reason to do the licenses (apart from getting free cars) is to get Platinum. :D

Since you don't need licenses to compete in other events, licenses in GT5 are rather useless. Of course you can learn the basics about driving in GT5 but they're not that hard or usefull.
Rather try the AMG academy, that'll learn most people something. ;)

I would say yes it is. Although I'm not the type to brag.:sly::D But many people add it in their sig's for that very reason.

I prefer stealth mode myself, but I'm sneaky.:sly:

In the realworld, a licence is something you get to earn the right to do something. Getting a licence in GT5 is a contradiction in terms, as it doesn't actually enable one to do anything. If the licence tests in GT5 were necessary in order to engage in certain races, then they'd be worth doing. This game is so backwards & in so many ways.

Here here, but mind you, some of these are so hard, while others in the same category are equally easy... As it stands I'm glad they aren't required, they are sort of, a minor distraction, that adds some value to the game, but in all honesty it'd be better if they either ditched this in GT6, or rejigged it to make more sense, it does remind me a little of GT3 but their liciences seemed slightly easier, and of course, a means to an end. These are just a means to themselves.

The primary benefit of licenses is to help you become a better driver.

GT5 has by far the easiest set of license tests to gold in any version of Gran Turismo to date... it took me less than 24 hours of real time (under 12 hours of playing time) to Gold them all on release day. Unfortunately, with SRF forced on, they don't have the same 'learining the new physics engine' benefit as in other versions of the game.

Personally, I would prefer much more challenging license test gold times, with SRF not forced on. But I recognise that others might not be so interested in them, so allowing progress through the game without golding them is no problem.

The difficulty of the license's is so stupid, for instance the 1st license is much tougher than the last where you can only fail if you are really a baboon or something. I did them all again recently for one of my other accounts, the one stop/start test with a Nissan GT-R is much tougher than it needs to be because they make you use no ABS now for some reason. Plus the fact SRF is locked on doesn't really teach you anything, I do them purely for the collecting aspect of it.

If you enjoy them, then yes it is worth it. If you really care about game completion, then yes. If you don't feel like golding them, then no. They gain you nothing but free cars you can live without or get elsewhere. As far as completion goes, there are much harder things to do and you can come back and finish them off after golding Vettel and Grand Tour and watching your oldest Bob run 500 races.

They don't really teach you all that much, but it's probably worth running through them all at least once, particularly if you haven't played GT games or other realistic-ish racing games before. It's also probably worth watching all the demo runs just to hear the extra tips the narrator gives you beyond what's in the normal description -- you might learn something from that. Then test it out on the track and move on if you don't care about the gold.

Only a few of them are in any way difficult, and even those aren't too tough. I golded all of them while substantially under the influence of adult beverages. Watching videos of people clearing them should help show you what you're missing about the couple of tough ones.

Most license tests are easy tp gold. some i even golded first try.

Then there are others like the Nur GP high curb chicane challenge in the bmw 1series.

That took a bit of practice. WITH NO SRF BEATCHES

Back when the game came out, there was benefit to doing them simply to learn the tracks and learn driving techniques (which, really, is all they should be for rather than how they were used in previous games).

Then there was a period of time where PD turned off the contact penalty, meaning any of the AI races you could shunt everyone for an easy win and making all of the overtaking tests useless. Then they turned that back on, but turned on SRF on, making all of the tests useless. With SRF on, other than to win cars and get trophies, there honestly is no point to doing the tests anymore.

They're worth doing if you want to complete the game, 100%. Being a perfectionist myself when it comes to things like this, I can't help but do them all and make sure I've achieved the highest standard possible in each one, which is Gold.

There's nothing forcing you to do them as you don't need any of them to be able to enter races, like in the older GT's. Yes, some of them may be frustrating, but that's kind of the point. They are a learning curve. Teaching you new ways to drive and become a better driver, at that. Once you've got Gold in them all it's a big relief, and a nice addition when it says 60/0/0 on your profile. :D

👍

It's a shame that there is not a specific bronze trophy just for this achievement... something like "Passed The Test" or "L-Plates Torn Up". It might encourage more people to complete them.

To make them truly effective PD has to put a lot more time into creating them

As you all know the difficulty ranges from 'I can do this with one hand' to 'I will sacrifice my first born child to get gold on this'

This inconsistency is proof their ineffectiveness. I consider them to be what B-Spec mode is: Filler to make the game longer

You know, thats the only way that maked a good driver, get serious with and see how you will drive later.
you will learn how to act in every corner in every car with any mods, seriously they teach you how to corner in the right way not the drunk driver way.

and of course platinum trophy and the hard challenge for it.

I got 100% game completion - but not got "Terry's" in the licence tests. (Terry's All Gold... English box of dark chocolates - very yumtastic.)

Horses and courses... I get more fun out of tearing up Nurburgring in a V8 SPirra on Comfort tyres for a few laps than the stop-start load load repeat nature of the licence tests.

The reason to do the tests are>...
1 - Get free prize cars
2 - Because it is there - a target to beat and annihilate
3 - To get the badges

The prize cars are not exclusive enough - (If they had special colour version that was untradable they you could show off your "Badge" on track.) But cars are so easy to trade, buy the win a car thing is pretty pointless.
Because it is there - hmm drive a slalom through some cones... or tear up Autumn ring in a Alpine A110 with silly tyres! (Or a hundred other more fun things in GT5)
Badges - I'm not Ursa from Superman 2. Not sure why the game is peppered with "Whoopy doo you've spent all your credits - here you go, have a shiney badge!"

That said the AMG sponsored Nurburgring event is excellently put together -

Some of the gold times are a bit weak, but generally, the license exams can teach you how to properly take turns.

I hope the license tests will be connected to our friends list in GT6. I believe that GT6's A SPEC mode needs to follow NFS's social-based tracking of times/laps/speeds, etc.

For me, to enhance the enjoyment, I bring back the previous GT rules to myself, which was finish the certain license to access certain level A-Spec (such as I am only able to race in Expert level once I completed the I-B license test)

But I am a person which is a little bit lazy, so I only set the target to achieve all silver trophy to gain the access to next level A-Spec race:D

Whell thx for all opinion.

Almost done.

Missing A 3 ; IC 3; IB 3; Hate thats cones, cant do it, but i keep on trying.

Thx all :)

Don't be afraid to look up YouTube videos of others doing them, if you're really having trouble. Sometimes seeing a person demo it can help a person to see it better than the demonstration video in the game.

It works for some people, for others, not. Worth a shot, if you're that close to getting them.
