This car has to be in the game because of it's historical significance - winner of Le Mans 1955, 1956 and 1957. With brilliant aerodynamics thanks to genius designer Malcolm Sayers previous aeronautics experience and girling disc brakes (a first on a race car) it swept the board in endurance racing. Also it lad to arguably the most beautiful car of all time - Malcolm Sayers other masterpiece - the E type Jaguar - please make sure you vote for that car as well!

Could not have said it better myself :)

The Jaguar factory team withdrew from competition at the end of 1956. Five Jaguar D Types were entered by Privateer teams in 1957 and not only did they all finish the race, but they came home 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th.

The Jaguar D Type - jaw droppingly beautiful to look at - music to the ears from that fuel injected straight six and a true racing legend which should definitely be added to Gran Turismo.

Enjoy this informative short film.

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 6th all from privately entered D Types! A remarkable feat!
