He can't beat anyone of them, the STR isn't faster than the Renault, and it's definitley not faster than the Ferrari. Might be ble to pass some BMW's maybe.
Wait, so you think Grosjean and Badoer can beat Alguesuari, but Heidfeld and Kubica can't? Do I miss something here, or does experience count for nothing? The Renault isn't that far ahead of the STR, neither is the rest of the field really, just over a second covers the field - and the Renault is distinctly in the lower-midfield of it.
Did the Red bull upgrades make it to the STR last race?
If so - they didn't appear to make much difference?
C.
Yes they did upgrade the STR, with the RBR Silverstone upgrade (and everything prior to that race). Problem is, other teams also made upgrades since that race and continue to do so, so all upgrades any team makes are a lot more diminished in comparison to other team's performance.
This is why STR is so far behind this year - without a decent ability to develop their own chassis, they are being left behind every race by practically every other team. Even Force India have been quite impressive in their "rate of development" (that would be the current catch-phrase that sums up current F1 competition).
STR make an upgrade worth 0.5s (apparently) in one race but all the other teams have been making improvements every race worth 0.1 or 0.2 or even massive jumps like McLaren's.
