JDM Touring Masters
Time: xx:07, xx:22, xx:37, xx:52
Introduction
I’m not going to lie, I love Japanese cars but unfortunately most of them are left unused since they’re generally uncompetitive in standard 750pp races, even the non GTLM races. I also like touring car races like the Super GT, therefore I decided to create an event to cater for these cars in the style similar to the Japanese Super GT events (hence the Touring Masters name).
Regulations
These are the basic rules for the event:
- PP points are generally disregarded in this event. I decided to stick with the BHP restrictions similar to that of Super GT. Therefore generally BHP is restricted up to 445BHP. Some cars have exceptions and are stated below.
- No tyre restrictions but I recommend having R3’s if they have difficulty to keep up.
- No weight restrictions as yet.
- Driving aids (TCS, ASM, ABS) is up to the driver should they wish to use them or not.
- Tuning is allowed, gear ratios and suspensions tunes are changeable! Tuners rejoice!
- GTP etiquette is the same here – Fair, clean and fun!
- Just in case, only Japanese cars are allowed here!
- 30 seconds start up after the original race begins, though this may change in the future.
Not all Japanese cars can compete due to the wide ranging performance. At the moment, the cars that are allowed to compete in the event are:
- Honda NSX Type-R - 445BHP
- Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Nur (R34) – 445BHP - RECOMMEND
- Mazda RX-8 Type S – 446BHP
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX GSR - 445BHP
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR Premium Package - 445BHP
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X GSR Premium Package Tuned - 443BHP** - RECOMMEND
- Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STI spec C Type RA – 445BHP - RECOMMEND
Cars under review for eligibility:
Lexus IS-F, Nissan GTR, Subaru Impreza WRX STi*, Amuse 350Z* with more on the way!
* - Will be re-regulated for even competition
Future Developments
I love to develop a series similar to the Super GT in GT5, though at the moment it is difficult since there are no JGTC/Super GT cars to do this as well with the lack of private rooms! So using JDM cars is the next best thing I can come up with. I also like to see people with car teams with matching colors, implementation of the “success ballast”, championship series across different tracks and much more. But its early days and like to test the waters of this event first to gauge interest. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I found this pretty even with the Scooby in the race, while it has fantastic acceleration and cornering power it doesn't overpower the Impreza on straight line speed therefore you have a very even race between the two. It's absolutely planted on the tarmac, a very easy car to drive and predictable with uncanny touring car characteristics and looks! I found it punter proof too so you won't be scrawling for control on the slightest bump. Here's the settings:
Performance Points - 729pts
BHP - 443BHP (+18%)
Weight - 1049kg (85%)
Tyres - R3's
Aerodynamics - 20/25
Ride Height: -15/-15
Spring Rate: 6/8
Damper: 6/8
Toe: 0.00/-0.01
Camber: 1.0/0.5
Brake Balance: 5/5
Max Turning Angle: 42
TC/ABS - Up to User
Transmission
1st - 3.140
2nd - 2.292
3rd - 1.754
4th - 1.290
5th - 1.008
6th - 0.775
FINAL - 4.062
