Do you have the TRD catalog from Japan? OYu can order it from Toyota parts depts. It costs like $30 but has a ton of Cav stuff in it.

I'm not much into JDM stuff, I keep thing simple with the car.
Those new Cavalier Turbo's are BAD ASS...they get like 20HP from the turbo.....wicked speed..wooo....

Yeah, they even make a supercharger for the Cavs and only give you 40 hp. Now that's a joke for 3500 spent on so called performance.
Heh, I got that much hp with much less in the engine. Chevy is a joke when it comes to performance for the older Cavies.

98 Civic Ex hm.... why would i put a GT-R emblem on it?!? Thats not really that unique i see some of them around here and i think its just gay;) and... the IS with altezza badge that has a reason... just like a Acura RSX changing the emblem to Honda... but... Civic EX with a GT-R emblem.... :lol: anyways... about the "if you need a JDM badging to be unique" thing... :lol: well... there are alot of way for your car to be "Unique" the badge is one of it ;)... "Unique" is different and i bet not alot of is owners have the jdm Altezza badge... most is owner are old guys here... i doubt they would buy an Altezza badge ;)

And i dont get ur last statement... that is just plain ol' sig worthy?? Maybe im dumb but can you explain that to me...

converting stuff to JDM is kinda pointless in my eyes...it would be like me trying to convert my Blazer to the Chinese one. You bought your car in America just drive it as a car built for America.
 
well just like you said "IS KINDA POINTLESS IN MY EYES" but i think its cool thats my point of view we stand at different views... and thats why we are human beings... we have different points of views... everyone does... i just dont like him BASHING on jdm since he dont like jdm... i dont like american cars but i dont BASH on them or say "American car are for LOSERS" most the people who do that are people who hate imports who says stuff like "RICE" and all that anyways... just the title pisses me off... I was referring to the quote directly above my last sentence. It is very funny, and would be a nice addition to somebody's signature on the forum.

My point about the Civic Ex is...JDM badging is no longer rare nor does it make you "unique"...the Civic also happens to be neither rare nor unique. I am not bashing the Civic or JDM badging, just saying neither of them are "unique".
 
some badging is still "unique" like the is300 thing... if you think of it how many is are there in USA and how many have altezza badges... yeah think about that... CIVIC HATCHES ARE COOL!!

Not every one care for performance... some are show cars... so yeah... people "waste" money on stuff like kit, lights, seats, and etc... not because its for performance but more for shows and just good look ;)

I don't get it, though - the cars they make 'look good' only look good in their opinions. Meanwhile, the cars with real performance power are 'fast' in everybody's opinion, and there can be no disputing what's fast and what's quick. What's the use, then, of making a car just for show?
 
Yes... me i choose both cause i am smart... ;) its like do you want a old 89 maxiuma to be fast or a really good looking car to be really really slow... for me... i choose half and half... come to think of it... car is like a person... do you like a person because he/she is smart(performance) or he/she is good looking(looks).... i would like both thank you very much.... See smart people get beat on while good looking people get respect :lol: I like both performance and look that makes a perfect car or pefect soul mate....

Well... not all people are just for performance some dont really give a damn they just want to look good (or think they look good)... some people dont care what other people's opinion are...if they like it thats more than enough for them... am i right??? If someone said GT3 suck... thats there opinion would you care? would you stop playing GT3 cause someone dont like it?? and what you call fast is not what a Mclean F1 owner would call fast... people who do there car for show is actually doing it for him/her self...

I don't see any problem with wanting your car to look good...

Also, replacing the 240SX crap with stuff that says Silvia sounds like a good idea to me, Silvia is a name, 240SX is not. If I had an Acura I'd replace the badges with Honda ones, since I don't like the idea of a Honda being called an "Acura".
 
Me too... i dont like the fact that some Honda cars are being called Acura... That Toyota car are called Lexus.... that nissan car are called infiniti .... etc....

I bought my truck looking good...why should I waste money on something that doesn't give me more power and better gas mileage? I mean ya a few bucks here or there on some lights or something but a body kit is what a grand. I've learned don't waste your money on stuff like that.
 
Well thats ur opinion... that ur "wasting" your money... for like people who really want to win shows... and all they will make their car look to the extreme... they might hand shave everything, adding color, any little thing that u might think is "wasted" to them and the judges to the show... they will not think that the money is "wasted"... if you wanna say that fine thats ur own choice but remember that it is ur own voice... not anyone's else...

Oh... and yeah... they can have like sponsper to help them out with the money trouble... i believe in both show and speed... i dont want my car to be really really flashy... i like the more simply jdm/simply kit type you know... i dont want any like Lambo Doors or things like that... but thats my own opinion... to other people they really want and like it... and i really respect that...

Yes i realize that.... but you need power to back it up so ur power to weight ratio would be alright... and for all the weight u need a better suspention so you can turn normally or better with a suspention upgrade... i think everyone is aware of stuff like system or kit adding weight... but thanks for telling us captain obvious... :D

i think japanese carsa are pretty lame. heres why...

ill talk about cars my friends and i drive. one kid got a haildamage civic dx hatch for 6k. it has maybe 90 horse. he recently put the b18c from the gsr he wrecked in a cloverleaf because he doesnt know how to drive. the car is quick, but its a total piece of ****. the people that did the swap are retards. half the time vtec works, half time it doesnt. the idle goes from 1k to 2k. the car has ****ty paint with dents all over. the exhaust note sounds like ****, all rattly. lets say the swap cost him 3k. the car also has an 8lb flywheel, clutch way too aggressive, doesnt even slip, intake manifold, intake header exhaust. lets say thats 2.5k more.

11.5k for a car that runs around 14.6

another friend has a b16 in the ****tiest crx chassis i have ever seen. its quick, maybe 15.4, but its a pos. it handles like ****, like all imports. its fwd. and oh yea, it has a black hood. he is atleast 10 grand into this car.

another friend just bought a bmw e36 325is. it has less miles than the civic. it has the ///M body kit. it looks amazing. handles amzing. i would love a car like that. it was 6 something gvrand. it has a 195hp 6 in it. its not as quick as the civic, but its a wonderful motor. it would run a 15.6 probably.

half the price. put 6k into the bimmer and damn.

yet another has an e30 325is. 170hp 6 with high potential, 2600lbish. its really clean. handles great, rwd, really fun to drive. it was around 5k. this would run a 15.3 atleast.

after these kids have all the money into the cars, they couldve gotten something much better to begin with. and all of those euro cars handle amazingly. civics handle like ****. put suspension on, and itll still handle like ****, but the ride will be totally harsh. these cars are also dank. no rattling ****, no ****ty cloth interior. honda prices are crazy, becuase stupid people buy them.

oh yea, my next daily drivers going to cost me 5600. its going have a 350ft lb torque v12 thats easy to get to 500hp. its going to be totally pimp. cushy ass leather interior. is it japanese? no, its a bmw.
 
What if people dont want to be fast? What if I put a 5k dollar system, 20in rims, body kit, and altezza badges on my IS300....am I a poser? No. I am someone that knows what I want out of my car. Some people get 'oh's and ah's' from being fast, others get them from looking and sounding nice.
 
defining rice is so difficult. everyones view is different. performance versus body mods, i dont know about that. a car with ricy body parts is a car with ricey body parts. make a car look good with 20s, great.

ill do whatever mods to my car that i want. if its a racer, ill make it quick. if its a cruiser, ill hook it up that way.
 
yes they do. i dont care what you spend on the chassis. put 10k into suspension, it will still handle worse than rwd cars. the torque steer is horrible. no steering feel.
