You rock, dude! Thanks for taking the time. How many laps in each did you attempt?

Amazing job balancing the cars to start the season. You guys nailed the "handicap" for the Hondas, but maybe you overestimated the tire benefit. Sure seems like the wear is similar to other cars, but maybe not. 0.2" a lap slower and one less stop should indeed net an advantage over a race distance if you can manage that. Even at 0.5" perhaps.

-SHig

p.s. Casio: Of course we're all a lot better since, and some more than others. I'd HOPE Curtis isn't faster by as much as you, Jerome, me, et al since then! I was only in D1 3 weeks in that race BTW.

 Yea i push hard in racing - I have to keep the times down to a minimum. Thats what its all about. I ran 4 complete races on this to boot.

If i slow down - say 1 second a lap (its very easy to do actually w/ the NXS's) on a 47 lap race that adds 47 seconds to my time but saves one pit stop with the tire wear. Guess what - I'm now 15/20 seconds slower than i was if i pushed hard and had 1 more pitstop. It just does not add up why we are so slow.

Found out one thing for sure - the NXS's DO NOT LIKE switchbacks and such as it really upsets the cars handling. It want to spin big time. Found this out at Motegi. The big esses are a bear and the tight esses just before the finish line is a Kodiak kind.

Interesting observations:

The RX is fastest to T2 by a tenth over the Z, yet slower by a tenth at the line. Maybe with some DGP style driving in the corner at the bottom of the hill it could take the pole? The Loctite is dead nuts even with the pole lap at T1 and faster than the second place car at T2, but a half a second behind at the finish. Looks like the NSX and the RX definitely handle well, but like hOt says, the probably NSX needs a bit more power. That said, it's amazing how fast that Denso Supra did the last sector! The hill makes for some interesting torque characteristics comparisons.

fun stuff...

wonder what the sector stats look like

but that is wayyyyyyyyyy to much number crunching haha
and im a lazy mofo - that didnt like math too much

10-15 laps for each car
5 laps more for the cars closer to the pole

analyzing stats is actually quite interesting :)

Ok, '01 & '03 NSX's will get a boost 100% sure. Also the next driver (if one) to use the RX-8 will also have something small. RX-7 we're looking at a generous 1% to make it even at stock specs (0%) at best. And that's about it folks. :)

Now all you have to do is re-order them with the fastest to the slowest in each sector, with the cars next to the time. Hahaha.

Anywho, the Takata is the slowest everywhere... And loses even MORE ground up the hill. I will definitely agree that it should get a bump of HP, 2-3% maybe? I don't know how much of a difference that makes though... And then on the other NSXs, maybe 1% more hp?

Casio
RandyMc, KLR, Jump_ace and myself have all graduated to D1 since that race.
I'm actually still hanging out in D2... I haven't been spending enough time to get up to D1 levels, but if I did, I bet I could be there soon enough. :)

Nobody likes my car, poor me :( Nobody even acknowledges its existence...can everyone please differentiate between the Nissan Xanavi Nismo GT-R and the Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GT-R. Just saying Nissan Xanavi GT-R doesn't help anyone :)

I'm not convinced the Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GT-R isn't fractionally down on power, however it's difficult to tell at this stage and I just don't have the time to run comparitive tests at the moment. Anyway, I nominate it for review :) (sorry only saw this thread now)

I think hOt is right in saying that both '01 Skylines are the same. Same with the like year NSXen and Supras.

If you want to test power, try taking both to the test track in stock form and seeing if top speed/accel are different?

Well I would contest that they aren't the same when it comes to handling, having driven the Pennzoil Zexel last season, and the Xanavi Hiroto this season. They're pretty close I suppose, but could produce different laptimes.

EDIT: EV4L I will make some time tomorrow evening to run some comparisons, but I'm seriously skeptical about the performance of the Xanavi Hiroto. I compared replays with last season, and I'd be surprised if I lost 1.6 seconds comparitively to the Denso Sard Supra (which this season is running an extra 16bhp over my car from last season). May I request an official review of the Hiroto please Mr. Race Admin?

@jctraduz: not taking anything away from you dude, just using you as a basis for comparison, hope you understand 👍
