Can you choose any car or once it is chosen is it off limits?

Edit: Nevermind just read the rules. It looks like all the good cars are taken :(. Any chance of letting 3 drivers per car? ;)

Any good driver will make an average car look good if he's got consistency all around during the enduro. 👍

IforceV8 grabbed the WoodOne Supra 2 days ago. Now both are gone.

:D

Iceman grab another supra or GTR.

edit

it seems my number is 3 and not 2 or 1 digits :dopey:

I will take number 88

hey hey guys!

Enduro!! sounds good

ill take the sexy au CERUMO supra~! :sly:

with #10 please ( Juan Montoya )

:banghead: It looks like I read it all wrong, I thought the 2 meant that 2 were already taken. In that case I'll take the Xanavi Hiroto GT-R.

25% just passed now the enduros are available, will test the available cars and you'll get my final answer either today (monday) or tomorrow the latest. :)

Thanks for pointing this out O.G., I'll be checking back in a day or two and let you know which car I'll be entering. I'm having trouble adjusting to this new Grand Valley, doesn't seem as fun as it used to be. Maybe this will help. Looks like everyone is staying away from the Honda's so I'll probably go with one of those.

KOOL Catawba Warrior! Glad you can join Mulsanne's little party. Biochemist is running a NSX & in my tests it was quite close to the ride I chose "Out of the BOX" but I don't tune/drive MRs as well as I do FRs...O.G. :D

Hey gents, sorry for the silence, but I've just now been able to check in from the awesome weekend I just had.

Stoked to see more interest in this race. I just updated the entry list and the available cars. Extase4u2 and icemanshooter23, just need to know which car numbers you want to run with.

And I wholeheartedly agree with eatsvipers4lunch: a great driver will make any car look great. BTW, what do you eat Vipers with? I can't wait to see how the new Z06 'Vette does against the Vipers.

Slowpoke, a spot race is cool with me, just as long as everyone remembers to take off the #3 turbo and other mods before the big race. :)

Yes the new Z06 will rape some serious ass. Better chassis, suspension, brakes, and at about 3150 lbs with 500hp it should clock in the 11's bone stock easy.

#3. Nice. The number of my first racing hero.

eatsvipers: Nice ride. Yeah, it's about time GM decided to build a quality sports car. Six lucky numbers and I'll have a black one parked in my garage.

Sorry, but I won't be able to handle a spot race like I hoped. Working too many hours this week and have things to do over the weekend. But I will be back in plenty of time for qualifying and the race itself!

👍

Allright I'm here, sorry for been late a little I was doing the 24h Nurburgring enduro yesterday. Ok so I took the time to look at the car lineup and the rest of the rules. Now here are a couple of questions and facts I have.

1- Nitrous allowed or not? Since we aren't talking about a single lap time here nos would not change alot on the final time of over an hour and half. So in or not?

2- Next, you're talking about "soft compound tires can be used for qualifying" but what about the actual race?

3- And here's the most important fact, you said maximum of 599hp before the race. Now I don't think you can mod a single one of those cars either with a stage 3 turbo or NA tune stage 3 and be under 600hp. They all play in the 620-650hp range. So we have two choices here, either we run bone stock with only an oil change on each car, either we raise the maximum hp limit by 30-50hp or something like that.

Anyway, I'll be waiting for an answer before I make my final pick. Later man. :sly:

Ok, put me down for the other Pennzoil car, the '01 ZEXEL with the white on the back. You're right O.G., the MR's can be a pain for me as well, but I do try. Learning a different driving style for those has been an ongoing process for me. I'll gladly post some numbers for a Honda as well, or any other of these cars that nobody takes.

As far as a number for my Skyline, I'll take 6.

My take on eatsvipers 3 points:

1- I won't be using NOS regardless of rules and I don't care if anyone else does.
2- Use what tires you want, I'll be using racing tires and if you want to race on softs, go for it.
3- You're right, none of the cars can be upgraded and stay under 599. There's a good spread of HP between these cars stock (after oil change), from 495 on all the Supras except the WoodOne to 530 on the '99 Pennzoil Nismo Skyline. With 18 cars in a 35 HP range, I don't see the need for upgrades.

That's my take, but I'll play by whatever rules are laid down, no problem. I'm just having some fun.

Changing the HP cap to 620-650 would limit the field to about 5 NSX's,all with NA-3.To be able to run all car with turbo-3 the HP cap would have to be raised to under 799 hp which would be overkill for this race.

Tires-sure you can,but why would you want to pit 25 times?

NOS-good question but i would assume no.

i say stock cars with oil change and any tires you want, and no nos

Ok and now do we put a weight penalty or something on the Motul Pitwork Z, the Xanavi Nismo and maybe also the WoodOne Supra since we all know they are superior cars in the beginning? That's if we use the bone stock with only an oil change system...

Me I'm voting to run bone stock as well.

Again, sorry for the silence guys. Remember that awesome weekend I said I had? I'm crashing back to Earth this week with a flat tire on Tuesday and sickness yesterday.

Okay to answer the questions:
"1- Nitrous allowed or not? Since we aren't talking about a single lap time here nos would not change alot on the final time of over an hour and half. So in or not?"

I have to say no on the NOS since they don't use it on the JGTC/Super GT cars.

"2- Next, you're talking about "soft compound tires can be used for qualifying" but what about the actual race?"

Soft tires are allowed for the race. You can run any tire compound you like, but obviously the key is to find a trade-off between speed and durability.

"3- And here's the most important fact, you said maximum of 599hp before the race. Now I don't think you can mod a single one of those cars either with a stage 3 turbo or NA tune stage 3 and be under 600hp. They all play in the 620-650hp range. I'm sorry to say that I announced the rules about this before discovering that the cars can't be modified and stay below 599 hp. A bit of a red-faced moment on my part. I would really like to keep them under 599 hp, or stock. I don't really like racing series where we race 1200 hp go-karts with all downforce. Since the real cars are around 500 hp, I thought that would be about right for a race trying to replicate the real experience.

Since some of you have told me how you plan to approach the race, I'll tell you my plan. A little bit of tinkering with the set-up, with no TCS or ASM (although you can use them).

And just to follow up on the questions of nitrous, extra horsepower and ballast, I said earlier that if this race was a success, I would like to do the same for the Tokyo Route 246 300 kms and Laguna Seca 200 miles races. I would like to get through this race with the rules already laid down, and possibly tweak the rules for future races. So if one car has a major advantage (such as the Motul Z), then we can work to dial that car back a little at the next race. I am noting the suggestions given here and would appreciate future suggestions to make the racing fun for everyone, because that's really what this is all about.

Ok, I say we go ahead and run all the cars bone stock with only an oil change allowed for this first race. We should give more credit to the good tuners and that way the top guys would be the ones with the best car settings and tires-pit stop strategy. Let's forget the weight penalty for this first race since we are in a learning process anyway. If there's some ajustements needed to be done they should take place in the future runs. 👍

Allright here's my car choice :

No.11 Toyota au CERUMO Supra '01 - 488hp & 494ft torque - 1100kg

stats after oil change, power figures from the graph in the "SETTINGS" page

I'm with you. I can barely wait to get started. But keep practicing and tweaking the car. Official practice/qualifying starts Monday. Then you'll be able to show the world (or just us on GTP) what you can do.

Are you going to readjust the first page rules based on the recent talk?

And also, once we star to send some times would it be possible to know what each driver's controller type is?

Can't wait to start this
