JGTC S1 Round 5 Race + Results

Wow I wasn't expecting 2nd place this week. Damn, now I have a 55kg weight penalty for Grand Valley :ouch: That's gonna hurt me on the straight.

Congrats to DRIVEN -USA- for edging me out this week :) Also to VTRacing for the GT500 win, and all the other podium finishers  This was a race with a difference.

Grand Valley, here we come!

hey 7th not bad for the mystakes i did i should have run it again but i was busy, oh well congrats driven for the win.

At least you got a point for one of the fastest laps. 👍

@veilsidebr What sort of strategy were you running to be able to pull out a 56.6? Was there a deliberate soft tyre stint?
I used RS tires, congrats there mate. I didn´t think a 30´s would be possible, maybe low 40´s, but u got that. 👍

WOW 1st place, thought it would of been a bit closer at the top. That last run i had i did a little something diff., and it payed off. Ran soft fronts and medium rears for the norm then went to soft fronts and hard rears for the last run. pitting 7/14/21/28/35/42 tried running the last lap with the softer rears the first couple of times but always crashed and spun out trying costing me loads of time so went to the hard tires on the last run to see what it would get me.
Ran mid to low 1'01.xxx's as a norm time.

Congrats to the other podium finishers.

nothing i could do about me missing the submitting time...
had a family dinner that i didnt even know about, so there was nothing i could do

im an hour and 40 min late, almost worked but nOpe... sorry Nat

51'49.081 Best Lap : 0'58.983

rear hards, medium fronts for 4 stints
rear hards, soft fronts for 1 stint
1 spin on the 23rd lap, but recover'd so perfectly i only lost 2-3 seconds that lap

yet again sorry....

I'm not assed man, it's just a game and I'm not going to lose any sleep over it; regular life throws us a curve ball from time to time :p

holy crap look at the difference between GT500 and GT300. not much of a difference in times this race. it must have been a pain in the ass trying to control that wheel spin.

11th? OUCH. Worst result for me ever!!! Atleast I'll lose that damned weight :p

I did hard's for this entire race. Was that a baaaad choice?

I used medium front hard rear because the rear tires were wearing so damn fast. I think corner entry war pretty good with this setup too. the tail didn't really slide unless I got on the throttle too much.

oh I did lose a spot because, why didn't I write down those sector times!!!! allwell.

hey GT_Fan Team Zissou is off to a bad start. I will be posting everying thing perfectly on time from now on.

eatsFiatPanda4lunch im sorry for my 13 place in this race but it wasnt my week in GT at all :( i even didnt submit time in WRS (for the first time since beginning :/) i will do my best this week cos GVS is my favourite track in GT series. No problemo man, just do your best. :) I know that on my side I'll be pushing like hell for the last 3 races, aiming for a top 3 finish in GT300. :sly: Our team also can gain some big points in the next weeks to move up in the standings. Let's do our best. 👍

My time from last night:

54'08.554

Best lap: 1'00.045

I easily lost a minute through spins and AI contact. I hit the AI car on lap 49 and was froced to pit . I ran on soft front and medium rears.

Hi Folks
Congrats to all the podiums:cheers:, way to go Soyfu 👍 3rd in GT500 well done !
I was looking forward to this race, unfortunatley for me 2 weeks ago I had a rather nasty Motorcycle accident, leaving me with a strapped up dislocated right shoulder, a few broken ribs and a badly bruised right side kidney :ouch: "ouch" . Still feeling a bit sore and sorry, but I am on the road to recovery, so all will be ok.
Unfortunatly this means I wont be able to continue with this series at this time, good luck to everyone in the remaining races, I will be lurking and keeping an eye on the results and general chit chat in here. So again good luck everyone, and take care on the real black stuff ! 👍

That's bad news Steve 👎 hope you get back in the saddle shortly.

It was actually really really fun. I drive a rally car in real life so I was putting some of those skills to use balancing the car on the throttle.

It was faster to get the tail sliding just a little bit in 2nd gear around the hairpins, then I was short-shifting to 3rd before planting it. All the time you're looking to avoid understeer and the NSX was pretty good for that.

I'm looking to get a max drive so I can post the replay.

3rd!! holy shxxxt!!!!!!!!!!

DFP should technically destroy DS2 this week. :guilty:
DS2, here. Did I just pwn with my sweet pit strat?!

I started on R5/R4, then ran most of the race on R5/R3. Pit every 5 laps.

NSX means business now I think :sly: Thumbs up to all who submitted a time for this round.

Thanks, guys. Take care, Steve!

I'm also a rally fan. Less so now, but back when Colin McRae was the king I couldn't get enough rally news and rally games. Maybe that gives us the edge!

...or the kick-ass NSX! MR rules!

I was also doing powerslides through almost every turn, but I set my max speed to 450km so I wouldn't have to short shift so much. Only touched 4th for a second to reach 135mph before braking for the sweeper. Very slow track.

I had max speed set at 260, with green tyres I got no wheelspin from 3rd up. Spent a second or two in 6th before the last corner.

I'm surprised people went for a lot of pitstops, I figured I would lose roughly 25 seconds for each stop and that would be difficult to make up the extra time lost. So I tried to limit the number of stops to 4.

Soyfu you made 9 stops? That's 5 more than me so an extra 2min 5 seconds in the inlap/pit/outlap sequence. That's a lot of time to try and make up on the road, especially when you've only got 3 flying laps in each stint.

I am thinking though that the next race will be very different for me, I hope I can stay competitive on a grippy track.

I agree, it was twitchy under brakes though :nervous:

Sorry to hear that - I was much luckier with my accident... of course I was going much slower. Hope your road to recovery is like motorland and not test track!
