JGTC S1 Round 6 Qualif + Results

I'm having trouble...i'm running what seem to be flawless laps..going from rumble strip to rumble strip and having no off-tracks or anything...and I can't even match GT300 times from the other events...and i've been playing Gran Turismo for years with successful outcomes...I don't know what i'm missing here...

That's interesting - for Midfield I believe we were allowed to go on them. Is this by track?

What ever I say some will still not follow it in the end, me I don't care even if I can go wider I always stay inside. Use what you want, if you feel honest using them go for it.

Just had my go at this and came up with a pretty nice lap. It's amazing that the brakes on these cars are almost too good. I find myself braking too much for many of the corners.

For qualifying I never use them but during a race, if I happen to misjudge the corner I will resort to using it in order to save myself from spinning or smacking a wall.

While i was doing my practice runs, i experiment w/ the track first. I try to hit all corners as hard as i can and see if it works or not. Having the ghost on shows me how i come out of corners faster or slower or how takin a turn can benifit me. Im really not afraid of losing it. I've already done my test runs and did great w/ the castro and ran consitant times. 👍

You're aware that those top qualification times weren't done in 10 mins right? Until you learn how your car reacts in every situation you'll never pull off times to the best of the it's potential.

Yikes, this is not the track I thought it was :nervous: and I can easily see that there are a few corners here that can lead to fast ... or slow ... sections in a heart beat. :ouch: I'm not sure I can learn this one and be competitive in time :(

Well, I love the track. However, I have to leave town for a few days so I submitted my qualifying time already. Who knows if it will be decent or not. Will be back in time for the race, so good luck to everyone.

I leave you with these.

As eatsviper4lunch stated, it takes a bit of time to put down a stellar qualy lap. I usually do one 40+ lap session, or a couple of 20-30 lap sessions if I have time.

For example, I ran my first Grand Valley session last night, about 30 laps. The first 5-10 laps are "sighting laps", where I basically try to get a feel for how this car handles around this track, what speeds can be held through what turns, how it handles certain braking zones (turn 8 for example). My laptimes are dropping bit by bit, and in the case of last night I put in my fastest lap on lap 18 or so. The remaining 12 laps were spent trying to better it, seeing where I can go faster, but in this case not being able to hook it all together for a single hot lap (I know I can go faster than yesterday's fastest lap, but I couldn't do it last night).

Anyway, my point is that it takes time and practice, and you'll become more comfortable with your car as the season progresses. And if nothing else, you'll become a better overall GT driver just by competing here, even if you don't place very well.

Give it a go, see how you feel after a couple of solid rounds 👍

I've done pretty good laps for the qualifying, I'm screwed if GN+ doesn't want to do this anymore tought. I really like this track.

yes, time is always limiting me... i think tonight i will only have 60 to 90 minutes to qualify... and that still isnt´t very much... but the car is very good and the track better, so i´m loving it

Hey 60-90 minutes is what I usually have for qualy each week, so don't sweat it :sly:

Since we're on the topic, I usually run a single qualy session on Wednesday evening for about an hour or so. Then I run the race twice, once on Saturday and again on Sunday, and that's it! If I'm lucky I manage 20 minutes before Saturday's run to check tire wear, otherwise I use Saturday's run as a practice session and determine strategy as I go :ouch: And except for 45 minutes the other day, I haven't played GT Mode in about a month, and I've even had to stop racing in the WRS recently.

So all you folks with time oozing out of your DFPs should thank your lucky stars :)

My car seems to have some sort of mis-fire!! Instead of the clean crisp sound of a V6 revving its lungs out, the engine sounds rough at full throttle/high revs. Half throttle is clean, but as soon as you put your foot down it's rough.

I don't know whether this is a glitch with my game, the track or the car, I've even gone into GT mode to change some settings with no luck. It seems it's the track.

I don't think it's harming the performance, but the noise is painful.

Any other NSX drivers having the same issue?

The hardest part of this track is the middle section of chicanes that lead into the first tunnel, I found that it is best to take this like it is a smaller version of the Spoon Curve at Suzuka. This track is all about finding the balance between having good entry speed and exit speed.

I think that this is another place where you can get on the throttle much earlier than you think. atleast in GT300 cars.

Well I didn't get another chance to put in a session, so I'll have to submit my time from Monday night. Not bad, but I think there's another half-second in there somewhere. I'm curious to see how much the weight penalty has hurt me this week :ouch:

Good luck everyone!

The WedsSport is really too good with it's current specs, I'll really have to adjust that for next season. The rest of the GT300 field looks pretty equal so next season with all the same drivers from start to finish it should really be interesting. And to say that there's one Celica available right now.

I´ve got my laptime, finally broke the barrier i wanted, no way to go more than 0.2 faster, this if i really push like the hell, so i think that this lap is enough for a good place. :)

Well time Qual in to my Team Captain. Not happy with it over all, as I know I could of shaved a little more off, but mother nature and the Military had other plans on Monday and Tuesday with the potential that Banyan was going to be a stronger storm than it was.

Maybe just make up for it on Race Day.

{@Samuri ~ Hope ya survived the 6.1 this past weekend with no damage also}

About ready to submit for my first go at this season...not too happy with it, looks like i'll be the Lamborghini of the series who never cuts above 70% for the time trials.

My time's submitted, a solid unspectacular run.

With any luck I'll be on the pace; this car (as many of you are finding out in the WRS) is a bit of a handful at this track.
