Fasj Andge Racing ??? lol id fire them monkeys if i were you

 No, fandango. I knew it was a dance and thought it might fit. Having just found a definition I'm not so sure....

Definitions of FANDANGO on the Web:

* Most important of the modern Spanish dances, for couples. The dance begins slowly and tenderly, the rhythm marked by the clack of castanets, snapping of fingers, and stomping of feet. The speed gradually increases to a whirl of exhilaration. There is a sudden pause in the music toward the end of each figure when the dancers stand rigid in the attitude caught by the music. They move again only when the music is resumed. This is also characteristic of Seguidillas, similar to Jota.

MisterWeary
But if our name confuses you, you're more than welcome to refer to us as "The Winners" :sly:

You're going to have a tough time winning with all that sugar in your gas tank. :p

get used to the view of my tail lights, because that's all you're going to see. :sly:

but seriously...

good luck to all, I know it's fun to talk trash to the other drivers, it's all part of racing, and so is good sportsmanship. I wish everyone luck, and remember...

Fast in!!! Fast out!!!

Happy Racing

fasj6418
me too, very hard to find a name...

fasj6418 + andge08 = still don´t know, suggestions welcome...

Does it have to be a combination of your screen names? or are ANY suggestions welcome?

2Fast4U Racing (On the Nurb if you search the track, you'll find 2Fast4U is spray painted on it)

Fast Edge Racing

just a couple of ideas.

fandango racing...   💡

love all the suggestions guys, very good humor...

fandango is even funnier here in brazil because we have a snack called "fandangos"

so, if my aussie mate is fine with this, fandango woulde be very innovative...

thanks for all that made this thread a little funnier 👍

Question - OLR on this track, are the yellow lines considered part of the track (2 places) 1 between the short and long tunnel and, 2 is at the end of the long straight in the hard left hander. Need to know this for qualifiing. :scared:

Pretty sure it is. It was fine when we did Trial Mountain Reverse in the WRS so I'd assume it's fine for this race too.

As far as I recall, any tarmac was fine, a good example is the chicane before the start/finish line, the rumble strips are outside of the white lines?!? Perhaps E.V.4.L could clarify?

Team Shxxxt! returns.

GT300 - #31 Toyota SuperAutobacs Apex MR-S '00 - Soyfu
GT500 - #32 Toyota Woodone Tom's Supra '03 - Saleen Man

Eat dust. Preferably mine. Soyfu's will do as well.

The real important thing is like MisterWeary said to ALWAYS have 2 wheels on the tarmac. Rumble strips are part of the track so use those to the best of your advantage. 👍 I'll be really strict on the replays so make sure you have atleast always 2 wheels on the track.

Also, in about a month or less I'll be able to make video file replays of all the NTSC drivers. So even people without a replay device are going to be able to view those directly on their cpu. 👍

And ev4l, just to clarify: if we have a replay to send you, do we send our time submission details with the email or separately in a pm?

Yes send all the details with the included replay in the same email. 👍

I assume however, that the concrete parts in the tunnel before T1, and on the outside of some rumble strips do NOT count as tarmac?

I try and keep all 4 tires on the asphalt, I don't like to hit the rumble strips or let and wheels touch the grass.

#89 please Mr. Viper :)

I'm leaving for Australia tomorrow on business and I'm there until the middle of December. If the jet lag doesn't kill me, I will put in a time over the weekend for the qualy, but I may have to miss this first qualy. Viper, for part-time drivers, what happens if we miss a qualy? Are we penalized? Can we still race that week?

Considering it will cost more than I paid for my DFP to ship it there, I'm gonna look to buy one when I arrive, so anyone in the Melbourne area who knows of a good place to look for DFPs at a good price please let me know, thanks 👍

Until I find one, I'll be racing with my DS2, so don't expect my usual fast pace :) Thanks for all the patience guys, I'll see you on the flip-side.

Would like to have #66 please. :)

Is it 503 hp? That should be +4% power, right? Had it showing PS first and wondering why I cant get no 503

Still I need some clarification on legal parts of the track.

First of all: I assume that we can cross a white line if there is tarmac (of the same consistency) on both sides of it. This is in particular reference to the section coming down to the final chicane.

Second: In the first tunnel just before T1, the rumble strip runs out but is continued by a surface (the same width as the rumble) which is different to both the cobblestone (on the left) and the regular tarmac (on the right). It's a narrow strip of grey/brown tarmac or concrete. Is this strip legal?

In relation to this one, I know that in general terms the track is the track and the rumble is the rumble and if it's not track or rumble it's not legal. But the problem is that if you have two tyres on the rumble going through the corner, about half way through you would have to jump off the rumble back onto the track surface proper to stay legal.

Sorry for the longwinded post, but some clarification would be appreciated. And if anyone can take a photo of the section in question (assuming you know what I'm talking about), that would be great too.

:) WooHoo!!! Man i love this car. Just got my qualifing done and broke the mark i wanted to get.
Will be submitting just before the deadline as usual 👍 👍
Hope my teammate has as much luck and skill :scared:

to be on the safe side, I keep all 4 tires on the tarmac, and touch the rumble strips at little as possible. I don't see how anyone can pick up speed by riding in the grass.

Sure, I understand the notion of being on the safe side and keeping 4 wheels on tarmac, and I respect you for that. But, generally, it means being substantially slower. And there is no argument from the point of view of being realistic because every racing driver wants the shortest and straight line around a racetrack as possible. The only reason they don't shortcut the track to get the best time is because they're not allowed. The same applies here.

Furthermore I have made no mention of using the grass. Both my queries regarded different forms of tarmac/concrete, and the rumble strip in the first tunnel is flat, not raised.

The point is, I want to make sure that the fastest time I've recorded so far is legal. I'm definitely going to try and go faster, and it will try to remove all doubt in my mind about its legality, but I'd like to know which parts of the course I can drive on.

im a freakin heavy mOfO

bleh... i guess ill try and add more weight =P

LOL looks like we got heavy @$$ cars :D
meh! lets see what magic i can whip up!

About the track, ok first tunnel, i understand that the legal zones are between the rumble strips right?? u cant go on the "outside parts" of it??

And another problem is that the markings on the road? yellow paint and so forth.. like after the 2nd tunnel turning left... into the longish straight tunnel... i should think that would be legal......... or so you would think....

I think vtracing may have covered these questions, now we just need an answer!! :yuck:

Geee Guys. It doesn't matter how much track you use, you're not going to catch.
Mazda Speed Racing

Back onto the track subject, usually, anything past the rumble strips is not allowed. However, you can go outside the white line (e.g final chicane). The yellow part before the T2 in the second tunnel would be fine too.

RULES : Standard Online Racing rules for clean racing apply at all times.

Qualifications :

2 wheels on track at all times
Rumble Strips are part of the track

No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No Cheating of any kind

Based on the rules, which seem pretty clear to me. The following pictures should be legal lines for racing. The car has at least 2 tires on the track, also, I ran the same lines that some of the AI cars have run in previous races. eatsviper4lunch, let me know if these lines are legal. This should clear up some of the confusion.

I think the last four should be legal, but technically you are outside the white and yellow lines that normally define a "legal" track area.

true, it isn't in the "legal" track area however, these are the same lines/areas that the AI cars run which leads me to believe that they should be legal racing lines.

The thing we must understand is that even if I say it's against the rules to go past the white/yellow lines some people without replay proof will still use it, if you fell proud and satisfied of yourself just do it I don't care. The real important thing is 2 wheels on the track at all times, me I don't even use that extra space past those lines anyway. From my point of view going past the white lines is ok, going in the yellow lines section is not.

ev4l, this is your series, and if you were to say to us "Don't use the yellow areas", that's what we would do.

The biggest point is the one Red Cloud raised, the AI use those areas (not to mention the WRS) so why shouldn't we?

In the interest of certain legality (and because no-one seems to know what part of the track I'm talking about) I've decided not to bother with my fastest lap, and I'll submit the next fastest.

@eats....did you get my pm the other day about our team name? I don't have any other ideas, I actually like the Spoolin' Performance Racing (seeing as we both have turbo cars)
