JGTC S2 Round 1 Qualif + Results

To answer couple of questions that popped out in this thread.

Races are right at the 1h mark. No this is not a walk in the park and for sure some will realize that they're not all that of a driver if they don't have one thing called consistency. This is really really far from your typical WRS challenge!!! :lol:

Normally we all use RSS to qualify and no the tires you decide to pick for qualif won't have an effect on the race tire set. This season RSH and RSS will be banned from the actual race.

Like I said before if you're a part-time driver you race when ever you feel like it, you can miss qualif and still take part of the race.

The HP figures I give you before each round are taken directly from the QUICK TUNE-UP option screen. Sometimes when you save your replay and play it it will say you have maybe 1 hp more or less but that's normal.


Any more questions let me know. Finally the fawking weekend is here and I have monday off so I'll have the time to make all the threads about rules, settings, replay center etc I wanted to. :)

Oh and don't forget we have prizes this season. :D

Yes, it's that first strip off the tarmac, but I was on the inside of that turn rather than the outside. You can see where the rumble is on the inside, in the same position as that strip of concrete/tarmac/whatever.

It doesn't really matter now, I've deleted that replay and I'll just keep 2 tyres on the proper tarmac from here on in.

didn´t get a pole, (couldn´t catch the all mighty RX-8) but i think i can get a top 5. it was really, all my car could go on that lap... with my best splits, i could shave another 0´4, but that would be a miracle lap... i´m very satisfied with my time, finally after months of OLR i think i did a good lap, lets see...
 
my time is in.

I hope I did well. I really am not fond of this track, but with the RX-7 I was able to handle it somewhat.

I haven't raced with the DS2 since GT3, so it took me a while to get the hang of it again. I think I'm gonna burn tires a lot faster, since I can't drive as smoothly and consistently as with the DFP :irked:

Jet lag when you lose 8 hours of your life is murder. I couldn't fall asleep last night until about 5am :( I'm dreading this race a bit, it's just not as much fun with the controller. I guess it won't matter much though with hotboi in my class (can we give him a weight penalty in round 1 just to even the odds? ;) )

Apparently I've set a quick time, I know there were still a few tenths left out there ;) I think the biggest factor is that in the RX-8 I could stay nearly flat through the first turns before the tunnel. I was just brushing the brake going into the first left. There are whole seconds to be made or lost in that section.

I'm waiting eagerly for the results.
 
Submitted my time as well.

Didn't quite make the goal I set myself, falling about half a second shy. I think theres another .5 possibly .8 there to be had but oh well.

Interested if I've managed to qualify in the top half of the field 👍
 
I know the deadline isn't until later tonight, but I was just curious...

when will we see the results from qualifying? and when will we get the information for the race itself?

That seems pretty common, having .2 or so seconds left. I drove for 2 hours and managed to shave all of .3 off of my time. And I know there is time left because at some points I was ahead of the ghost, and then he'd beat me. Oh well.
 
does anyone know what the difference is between that MAX drive and a regular USB Flash Drive?

or do I need the MAX drive and something else to be able to copy replays?

No man, if you buy a max drive or the AR max it's just a little simple BS usb stick you get, nothing different from your typical usb drive. What you pay for is the cd software that you need to save your replays. That's why I asked you if your ps2 was chipped...if you know what I mean. :sly:
 
Ok, and also don't freak out if your car is a little slower than the rest, round 1 is a learning process for all. Even if for me two cars were equal if it's a slower driver using it in the season for sure it won't perform at the same level it did for me, and the same exact thing at the opposite if the driver is better than me. So it's not only to even up the cars but also to even up the cars with the talent each driver has to make everyone competitive. So it's not an easy task.

I'm off to watch the replays I received now. :)

I was able to take almost 3 full seconds off my first time. :dopey: After I got the time I submitted, I gave about 10 or more runs, but couldn't finish ahead of my damn ghost. :grumpy: I would usually be .1 of a second ahead of my ghost only to end up finishing .2 or more behind. :scared: Very frustrating to say the least.

Good job to all who submitted a time for round 1. VTRacing takes the pole in GT500 in the LM RX-8 and Doombreed gets the honours in GT300 with the Altezza Touring Car. Not to forget again Sir eatsviper taking 2nd in GT500. :sly: Good job again and gl for the round 1 race. 👍
 
I'm pretty shattered by my result. I'm a second off where I know I can get (I had a T1 of 14.2). But getting a time in the RX-7 is sooo hard, but when I nail it it's going to feel so great.

(But in all seriousness, I let you guys win, I don't need to qualify on pole to win by a lap or so)

Wow I'm stoked with that result!

Think I managed about 2 hrs worth of hot laps over the week which definitely helped.

I still think I could have pipped 1'20.000 if it all came together in one lap so I wouldn't be surprised if my car has the power / weight settings reviewed :sly:

Oh I forgot to mention that this was a great birthday present... thanks guys :dopey:

Bah, I got to say I'm pretty disappointed with my result as well. I was hoping to finish at least top 3. VTRacing's time is insane. :scared: Ah well, off to the track. Prepare to be destroyed.
 
terrible result... should have spent more time then the 15 laps i did over the week.... though i must say that RX8 is on rails around the corners after driving my car
