JGTC S2 Round 2 Qualif + Results

HEH - this is a good GT300 track, but for the 500's it's a little small. You have to be quick and have good throttle control. The first part of the track is very twisty and the rumble strips are throwing the car around so much it is normally not a good thing to hit them. Will welcome the straighter faster tracks (high speed ring) :sly: when we get to them.

Yup it was all in a purpose made by me to put those two tracks first so that you get to know your car and really work hard to get fast times. I mean what would of been the challenge to start the season with high speed ring or Fuji? lol you would have learned squat about how your car reacts and behave under intense braking and multiple cornering. So after those 2 first rounds you should really have a good idea of the general performance you can extract out of your ride. And no it's not only an hp question to even up the cars, like I said at the beginning of S1 it's also the big factor of considering the skills of everyone to readjust.

Yes that's definitely going off the normal racetrack pavement and is illegal.

Pleased to hear that.

About the Amemiya been slower than the MR opponents...trust me it wouldn't be slower if I was in the RX-7. :sly: You can't just start to test your car against all the others on a given track and then compare their performance like it was a final thing. Your normal car you should almost have it mastered by now...compare to the others that you're pretty much clueless about. And don't forget once we get on the high speed tracks all things will change.

I understand that certain tracks will favour certain cars; that's half the fun. I just thought it was curious that a car with roughly the same hp figures but with a 65 kg weight advantage would be slower. I was comparing 2 cars that I don't normally drive, and did roughly the same number of laps in each, so the clueless factor should have been relatively even.

Anyhoo, let's just race.

Haven't tried round 2 yet and it will go for the weekend only. Not sure yet where to put my expectations but I'll give it my best that's for sure. 👍

Also, you have to keep in mind that each driver has his own driving style, just because you can turn a faster lap in their car doesn't mean they can. Prime example Teledriel and I are driving the same exact car however, I finished 3rd in the race and he finished 11th. No offense Teledriel. There are alot of factors that come into play. The 3 MR cars finished 7th, 8th, and 9th. In my personal opinion, it's the drivers and not the cars that win races.
Yeah, you're completely right, but the problem here is that the HP figures were adjusted by ONE person testing the cars, so your thinking here applies. If viper is faster with my car than I am, for example, that doesn't make the HP figures balanced. I don't think another 5HP is enough for my little Skyline...but I guess we'll see. I still can't tell how much driving without my DFP is affecting my times.

Consistency on this track with the DS2 is damn hard to attain, particularly through sector 1. Fine throttle control is the order of the day, and I just can't play with the joystick, so you're kinda limited to about 3 levels of throttle with the X button...oh well, still having fun, though it bothers my competitive spirit.

Hey Casio, and luck with DFP prices? Somebody suggested a place called J&B Hi-Fi (or something like that) on Exhibition, I think I'll take a look tomorrow if I get time. Let me know if you spot anything mate, thanks 👍

I have run a few laps, but I know that I can do better. Gonna put some time in tomorrow, and hopefully get top 3 again. This track is insane....it really requires a ton of attention and will be tough come race time!!!

Bring it!!!

Time submitted. I think it's fast. I also thought my qualifying time last week was fast, and I ended up 5th. :dunce: Hopefully I'll qualify higher this week.

Team Shxxxt! shall return with a vengeance.

Submitted my time.

I'm not happy because I couldn't get my time I wanted, and I know I can get. I just kept stuffing the ends of my laps up. Grrrr....

Time Submitted.

Pretty happy with my time in the end but don't know how it will stack up with the rest of the times. I couldn't produce the time i really wanted but i was pretty close.

Submitted my best lap.

Honestly I think this will be a weight reduction round for me as I really don't have the experience on this track. Only got in half the amount of laps I did last week too.

So I'll be happy if I'm in the top half of the field. :dopey:

Time sent.

Hope it is good enough to match you all.

I know the rule is no time talking... but, for future reference, is it ok to discuss settings and other issues? For example, the top speed chosen for this one.

time submitted.

didn´t get the time i wanted by 0´2 but i think its good for my car...

if i don´t get a pole here, forget about making a pole in this season...

but i have a feling that i will see viper taking the pole this time, after my testing run... :nervous:

Guys, sending your info using my gmail address is only if you have a replay file attached.

No replay = PM on gtplanet
Replay = gmail address with the file plus all the normal info.

:)

submitted after 10 laps...

peaked really quickly

and i know its atleast 1.5 slower then pole~

Time submitted.

I found a few more tenths from my previous time, but there is definitely another .3 to be found. Alas, not by me.

I'm finding it very difficult to be consistent with my laps. Depending on what the car does over the kerbs, I sometimes fluke the perfect line for the next corners or (more likely) spear off into the grass or a wall.

Unfortunately if you're 5% conservative you add seconds, rather than tenths, to your laptime.

Picked up the AR Max thing this weekend, once I get it figured out I'll send in all my replays from the start of the season.

Time submitted 👍

Man I miss my DFP :( Sector 1 is a bugger with the DS2, getting just the right line through turns 3 to 6 is damn tricky, I used to be good with the controller, what happened? Oh well, I feel like Michael Schumacher this season, my controller isn't up to speed :D

I think my time is pretty shocking, but we'll find out. Finding the right gear ratios for this track with only the top speed setting is tricky, should be fun to see how things pan out. I agree that overtaking here won't be a walk in the park.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm pretty sure it's not fast, but I know it's clean!!! I cannot get a clean, fast line on this course. I can't wait till the next track!!!

Congrats to all on this qualification session. :)

fasj6418 with the pole in GT500 and Andge08 in GT300 👍

5th on my part, decent seeing how close the competition was in GT500 with like 8 cars under 1 sec interval with the pole sitter. This is going to be a real driver's race, consistency will win it all for you even if you drive a ****box. :sly:

GL to all.

Looks like fandango racing are off to are good start. Congrats guys for the double pole. 👍

I'm one place lower than I expected, but oh well. It was a bit of a flukey lap, I'd seen T1s .2 faster but just got lucky in the last sector.

And BIG congratulations to my teammate Teledriel for putting his machine in the top 5. Great job.

Good luck in the race everyone.

crap that's true...both of Fandango Racing member getting the pole

No worries the end result won't look the same guys. Spoolin Performance Racing will be there to steal the show. :sly:
