RULES : Standard Online Racing rules for clean racing applied when ever possible.

Race :

Minimum of 2 wheels on track
Rumble Strips are part of the track
No intentional AI contact
No wall riding
No wall touching
No short cutting
No Cheating of any kind



SETTINGS

I will ask you to follow me step by step for the settings so that everything is clear and understood by everyone.

GT4 Main Menu ---> Options ---> Arcade

No. Of Laps : 42
Tire Wear : Strong
Driving Aids : None
Penalty : Forced Pit Entry
Time Limit : None


GT4 Main Menu ---> Arcade Mode ---> Single Race ---> Select Track ---> Choose Your Car

Driving Options

Transmission : Your Choice
Driving Aids : None
Tires : Racing Medium (really important, the AI must start on RM tires)
Difficulty : 10 for both GT500 and GT300


Quick Tune-Up

Power : Enter The Given Number
Weight : Enter The Given Number
Top Speed : Your choice
Driving Aids : None
Transmission : Your Choice
Tyre Type : Racing
Front Tires : RH, RM, RS
Rear Tires : RH, RM, RS

*RSH and RSS tires are banned this season, a driver getting caught using any of those will get an automatic disqualification for the event*

42 laps, cool, this time i was right... lets see if my 8 pit strategy works:scared:
 
The AI drivers are on drugs or something. They go flying off and on the track constantly. Be very careful these guys are more aggresive then I've ever seen them and sooo careless.
 
oh yes, the AI this round will do things that you won´t believe.

i found at least 3 times a zonda parked on the sand in the first turn... they also spin in the left hander after T2 and in the last chicane...

so they kind of "cheer up" the race if it is to quiet...
 
I've run the race three times with 4,5, and 6 pits. Total difference was about 20 seconds, anyone care to guess the fastest or slowest?
Out of all the different AI's I've come up against, the Mugen ran the cleanest race, the rest are suicide drivers, all you have to do is be in sight and they fly off the track, which is fine but then they fly back on with no regard to others. Very exciting at times.

i suppose the fastest time was with 6 pits... right?

for my car RS tires always work better...
 
Had my own AI story.

Everything going swimmingly (as much as possible when you can only get 6 laps per stint) until lap 29 when I came round the long sweeping left-hander after T2 to find the McLaren sideways across the road on the exit.

'That's ok', I thought, 'I'll just slow down a bit and nip up the inside.'

Er, no. The McLaren decides he really wants to get going now and drives into my path. Bang, penalty.

I'm thinking I may have to keep restarting until I get a field that doesn't have the McLaren, and ideally without the Pagani as well. Those two are the biggest off-road culprits.

Plus I don't think I'll be able to beat the AI here, assuming they don't crash or spin, which means I'm unlikely to feature in the podium results for this round. There's just no way to drive around this track without burning up the front tyres.
 
i had a similiar story. can´t beat the AI, the zonda and the mclaren are 2 pigs, i had a penalty in lap 41, and my tires only last for 6 laps...

so i have to redo my race:)

but i won´t win, so there´s little chance of a top 3 for me...
 
Yep same story for me. Just had a first run at this, didn't even get to finish my race. The Skyline Concept is fast and just never pits, and I've taken out a contract on that Zonda driver :mad:

The extra weight on my car makes it almost undriveable, slow, and a tire shredder. Not gonna do well this week...then again, if everyone is feeling the same way, we might all be surprised :lol:
 
Case you must understand, if your car feels like a pig, feels underpowered, handles like crap, eats tires alive, dealing with retarded AI, then it's probably the same exact situation for 99% of the other drivers. lol so no need to all say you won't get a podium finish and then finish 1st and look all surprised when in reality you knew you had a great car. :rolleyes: Geez what's next...Casio posting he has no chance at winning this or something. :rolleyes:

This coming weekend, appreciation-comments-ideas thread for S2 is going up. :) Can't wait to start and prepare what could be a moment in history for GT4 online series. :lol: I'll need alot of help to setup everything and I really hope some will step up. S1 was good, S2 has the potential to be great. 👍
 
i´ll have some spare time starting in march, so i´ll be here to help prepare S2:tup:

Yeah that's why I'm a part-timer, although I haven't missed a race since round 1 of the test season (knock on wood). I'm busy traveling a lot for work, shipping my DFP everywhere just for the JGTC, but I sometimes don't have as much time as I'd like to run due to work :(

Well, after having a chat with Nuvolari (thanks mate) and doing a bit of thinking - not to mention running two races - I am feeling a bit better about this week. I know that I won't win (I'm waiting for the Supras to show some form) but hopefully I won't be too far off the pace.

I even managed to beat the AI, because the GT-R forgot to turn up and the next fastest car had an off day. :dopey:

I ended up running 6 lap stints, which meant I spent plenty of time watching my guys in the pits change my damn tyres.

And lastly, I've actually developed an appreciation for Apricot Hill, which is a track I've never really liked. But running here this round forwards, as well as running the Yellowbird on the reverse in the WRS, has opened my eyes.
 
yes, i´m also feeling a bit better. same story, supras and RX-7´s will win, 6 lap stints, and i also won because the GT-R was not bugging me. (i got lucky and the GT-R was not on the lineup)

don´t know how my finish will be, but a top 5 would be a nice thing...
