Especially the inclusion of the Nurburgring!

As to the 'delay, to weed out the dross', I think it was a good idea! But, I wouldn't have announced that, that, was what it was.:boggled:

I think it has back-fired on you, in the loss of Brad.
I suspect that he has withdrawn his usually unfaltering support/participation because he has had his nose put out of joint by what could be perceived as an underhanded tactic, and a lack of faith on your part.

I know that we all respect honesty, but there is such a thing as too much honesty!

You could have said the delay was because of 'further testing needed' and that would have been accepted, AND not been too far from the truth, would it?

Just my own thoughts, as always!:)

I was on the end of my teather last season with what happened with the lack of knowing what the hell was going on regarding the posting of results/next races/weights/etc. This is just cut it. JGTC is time consuming, and if I'm going to be treated like some rat in a maze then it's not worth my effort.

I understand where you are coming from Brad! Trust me, I do!

Maybe Eats' RL doesn't require good communication and 'people' skills, the delay didn't really bother me at all.
But the admission that it was a test to weed out the drop-outs, was a bad call.

I hope that he has a back-up this season, I wouldn't want the same thing happening again as last time.

I suspected as much. Dude, I realize you want to trim those not willing to stick it out as it were, but people don't like being played with. Just some friendly advice :)
 
I really don't think eats was playing with us, he was just trying to seperate the very serious from the not so serious, which will make for a much better season for all of us. Last season he tried the written commitment with limited results, so this is a new attempt to keep the field we start with. Also he did state that 11-20 would be the start date. So take his actions how you wish, but he did this for the good of the series and the commited drivers.
 
Some people may have not caught on to what was going on, and thus would obviously be annoyed with this "test". Usually people would drop out for a reason. Are you testing us this way so as to prepare us for the waits between weeks? I know you're not, but I'm just saying other perspectives. I don't remember reading that the season actually starts on the 20th, but it doesn't matter anyway. I'm just enjoying my somewhat free time. 👍
 
My two cents worth :

I'm a newbie here .. im an oldfart .. im addicted to GT4 . I have no interest for politics or the methods of its madness :crazy:
Having hosted a race series and competed in many more { another place , another time } .. i know the effort needed and the committent taken by the race director 👍 .. thus i have total respect for whoever it is ; whenever a race comp is put together .

GTPLANET deserves a long list of accolades .. the racing series and its dedicated directors / racers being one of them .

For EATS JGTC season : you have my total committment and support .. i will be there for everyrace .. no matter what .

I just think it was bad form. You want drivers to respect you, treat them fairly. Testing us is not the way to get our respect.

If you don’t trust us, how do you expect us to trust you? Treat us as you want to be treated. You want to play with us like that?

We just want to race, but if you want to turn it into some test, and act as if the ground you walk on is gold, then that’s fine. But you’re risking your series by not placing some trust in the people who will make it happen. The drivers make the series, not just the administrator.

The sooner you realise that the series will be nothing without drivers, the better it will be for everyone.
 
I think what ended up happening was Eat's lost some drivers that would have ended up staying the entire season. That being said, the guys who stayed on are either really die hard or patient or what have you OR just haven't been around to complain lol. Seriously though, interesting strategy employed by Eats.

im patient but apperntly my teammate wasn't i told him why the series was taking so long to get started on MSN and he told me that scince eats didnt show respect so i guess im now a single car team using the pitwork z he said he would post that he was quitting the series when he had time but that i could let you all know

to eats:
1. i'm not happy about being played with like this.
2. i'm not happy that i lost my teammate becuase of this
3. i belive that we have lost alot of drivers because you decided to play this "game"
4. i will stay becuase i like to race but i'm very displeased that i'm a test subject and that i lost my teammate becuase of this "game"


well i guess ill see everyone who sticks around on the track come the 20th
 
well my teammate just informed me he was quitting because of this he said he would post it when he got time

i guess im now a single car team running the pitwork z

Come on racefan. All racers are effected, having a teammate or not isn't going to give you much of an advantage (unless for some reason you need extra motivation to go fast but if you do just quit now my friend!) I think that Eat's has every right to do this, he understands what he's doing. He likes people doing things HIS way. If you don't just quit. I would like to say no one would cry about it but...

Anyways. Just deal with it. LOOK! You already have a request for someone to come onto your team. Fantastic! If you are a driver who hasn't cried about the series already I suggest you reconsider and use some common sense for a moment. I mean COME ON!!! IT IS A GAME! The series will start November 20th, or whatever the date is. Let's all take a step back, check our egos at the door and realise this isn't Formula 1 it's GT4. Sounds familiar doesn't it? Oh yeah, because I've already posted this! I think we can all agree if anyone cries about Eats's "game" or the series in this thread, from this post on they are most likely an attention seeker who is looking for some cyber attention; or are doing it to spite yours truly. This is getting very, very stupid guys. This series is FOR FUN! Chill out NOW! lol.
 
Oh for sure no actions in this world will be approved by everyone at 100%. Each person has the right to their opinions and I respect that.

But when you're ready to fully commit to something it's not a factor of "time" that should change your mind what so ever. That's my point of view.

I guess everyone jumped on Casio's "test subject" bandwagon since he posted that up...but still not sure where that came from. To each it's own I guess.

Myself, don't see anyone as a test subject but I guess others see it from a different perspective.

You'd be surprised how good of a JGTC feeling New York can give. The GT500 rides do fit there surprisingly very well. :)

Hey look, I'm still here and so are many others. Clearly there is a difference in reaction to your comment Eats. Personally I respect your plan, however I think informing everyone may have been the mistake. As someone said, I think we've lost some committed drivers because of that. People generally don't like to feel manipulated, whatever the reason or cause.

Anyway I'm looking forward to round 1 while I'm still at home with my DFP. I'm moving to Switzerland on Dec 1 for a while to work there...and of course there's a girl involved :sly:

I may be the guilty one here, I posted that I thought what eats was doing was a good way to weed out the "less then serious" drivers, then the whole thing took on a life of its own. But really , what does it matter when we start, it's eats series and it will start when he's ready, he's the one saddled with all the work and responsibility and he probably has a real life that dictates his decisions. On another note, If you don't like being tested then why do you want to compete every week....it's a test on your abilities. Lets all bring it down a notch and be patient, in a few weeks none of this will even matter.
 
I drove Taxi in New York City right after graduating High School, at least GT4 doesn't have the potholes!!! Believe it or not I never got robbed, but moved to Florida shortly after and got robbed at gunpoint going into a bar. The reason I left NY was to get away from the crime, guess it didn't work.
 
Nah, once you get used to New York, it's not that bad... Really! 👍

So why are we running a schedule not more similar to the JGTC? I know a few aren't on there but we have suitable wide-open circuits that can replace them not city type courses where the JGTC wouldn't race (with the exception of Tokoyo because the locale obvious makes sense and it's not all that tight)

Two Races at Fuji 05' GT (or 90's whatever), two at Suzuka, one at Motegi, then Mid-Field, Tokoyo, Apricott Hill, and one of the Californian tracks and that'll be a good representation of a true JGTC schedule and then keep your Exhibition event at Nurburgring.
