This a fantastic game, just finished it for the first time. Definitely going to go again a number of times, but
the ending was slightly anti-climatic, I was expecting a little more explanation of something.
Also loved the way co-op was integrated into the game too.

What doesnt seem to get enough credit is the straight up brilliant sound design. The way sound works in the game and the beautiful music that fits the action on screen more than perfect... just a stroke of genius!

No doubt the most enjoyable and just simply amazing game I've played in a long time, could also be a favourite for GOTY for me :)

Finished yesterday. It was brilliant, I've meet four pilgrims along my way to the top and back.

I will play again tonight. Maybe meet more of them maybe find some flowers maybe find some monsters, maybe meet more pilgrims, maybe ill cross the bridge without fully building it. Who knows :)

Questions only to those why already finish their Journey.

Is the end of Journey mens I'm dead?, are those graves belong to the players who finish Journey? So is there mine somewhere?

Two questions:

1) Do you have to team up with someone to finish the game, or can you go alone?

2) Can you complete the game with a friend, or does it have to be a random person?

Thinking about buying this next week.

1). You can complete it alone, no assistance is needed.

2). I don't know if people have figured out away to meet with friends. Maybe similar to Dark Souls where you agree to go to a certain area and wait? One problem is if you meet a random person and they follow you, you won't meet anyone else.

I think I might have gotten caught up in all the hype surrounding this game.

I got it on launch day and played through it mainly just going "huh?" to myself. When it finished I was none the wiser.

No inclination to play it again, feel like I wasted a tenner.

Oh well.

Tomb Raider 9
Resident Evil 6
Final Fantasy 13
Gran Theft Auto 5
Gran Turismo 5
Ridge Racer 7
Need For Speed 15

Well if you look at those numbers at the end of each game title, then maybe sometime it's good to play something not just without a number but rather something way much different from the all pack 👍

Catch my eye thanks to all that hype as you call, and I'm not regretting, what a wonderful hour of my live. And my girlfriend cried when she finish her Journey.

If you got though that list again you'll notice there have been 11 GTA's, roughly 15+ Final fantasys and 7 GT's..

You forgot GTA: San Andres, Vice City etc and final fantasy 10-2 plus some chocobo games and GT 3 prologue (can't remember exact name) and GT5 prologue.. ;) :sly:

What a shame. It's such a fantastic game. I've played through it about 6 times now and every time I play I find something new to enjoy. I'm missing about 3 trophies now so just need them and I can say I've completed it.

It is a shame. I had been looking forward to it since i first heard about it. I usually like left field games, I like flow and flower, I regularly play Rez, I love noby noby boy and katamari, this one just didn't seem to do anything for me. I'll likely try it again at some point. Maybe I was having a bad day or something.

And for the person suggesting I try something without a number at the end, I've not played a nfs since ps2, all the gta's and GT's are good, Tomb raider, resident evil, final fantasy, all not played since ps1.

I don't know how you came to think that I only played games with lots of sequels.

You should never assume anything about anyone, assumption being the mother of all **** ups and all that.

Have a nice day and thanks for your thoughts.

Games, especially unfamiliar and or unique ones, are largely judged on subjective opinion - so it's perfectly reasonable for someone to not like a game even when many others clearly do. In fact, when we judge something largely on subjective opinion, our judgments really expose more about ourselves than the thing we are judging.

After all, despite being considered by many to be one of the greatest films ever made, there are many people who hated Godfather 2, and that their dislike for that film probably says more about their own personal tastes than it does the over all quality of the film.

Obviously sir you did not read what I've wrote. So in other words, big companies for several years now continue to release they games did not bothering make any significant changes. Same story, same characters and people will buy and play anyway. You sir are how should i put this, convicted, condemned, fated to play mainstream games hardly ever had desire to find something different.

And in all of that, where did you find any information about me assuming anything about anyone :dunce: I said maybe it's good for a change to play something different.

You did not like it, fine. 👍 Majority of post's here like it :)

This sounds like an assumption to me. I did not enjoy one game that you did enjoy so I am condemned to play only mainstream games? I have no desire for something different? You clearly did not read what I wrote above the part aimed at yourself.

By saying that you are implying that I never play anything different from mainstream. Or you could say you are "assuming" that.

Putting "sir" in front of a statement doesn't make it seem any less rude. Or make you look like a gentleman. It's just like saying "no offence" before saying something offensive.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game and I like to read everyone's opinion of the game but please let's not get personal.

Thank you again.

Assume what you want.

I've Just finished game for second time and it was much better. Meet funny pilgrims along my Journey, cruised slowly to the peek. Had more time to explore on my own. 👍

Easily game of the year for me

Yeah, I would even go as far and say it's one of the best games I've ever played. Not because of length, features, or graphics (although it looks absolutely stunning), but because of the emotions the game gives you.

I had gotten this game just about a week or two ago. I must say that the game is very enjoyable, and might be the best new game that was released during this year. The feeling of just being alone, then meeting random people to find that they may leave you is just very.. Emotional. The artwork is also beautiful and describes the mood of the game.

Yesterday I had also received all trophies and the white robes, but I still have the feeling of coming back to the game for a reason unknown. It has some sort of attractiveness to me. Love this game.

@ darktom78

I would give it another go it's worth it; to be honest my old man didn't like it either, he thought it was very dull and boring he didn't find it at all engaging. I suppose like any art-form it is like DN said; its very subjective to that individual person and circumstances at the time of play can have a baring on that too.

I hope you do give it another go and report back, heck you have already paid for it and its only 2 hours to go through.

By far and a way one of the best games i've played in years.
Well worth the cost (after playing it).
It is also the only PS title where i actively searched out and collected every trophy for.
(I'm not a trophy hunter as i think they are useless).
I've played through multiple times with companions and offline.
This little game needs to rub off on alot of the big companies games in hopes that it would give them the "soul" it has, at least some.

Does anyone wanna try to game up together? I think it's possible if we go to the same place at the same time and use certain chirps to know who we are. I know some people who were able to meet up this way.

I'm thinking we can meet up somewhere in the broken bridge level as its early on in the journey.

I was early out having high hopes for this game but as time passed and I watched more gameplay it felt more and more like meehh to me. More often than not my guess about a game is accurate through watching gameplay and doing some reading and I don't see Journey as all that special. Of course, I see everyone is praising the hell out of the game but that's been done before for overrated games like Uncharted 2 and there are plenty of games with a soul out there. Still, I'm not totally immune to whatever "everybody" else thinks so if PSN cut the price in half I might consider trying it out. But not before then.

Just wanted you to know that you're not alone.

Sure 👍 i can finish game with you. It's not that hard actually, if you had Skype then it's not a problem at all :trouble

I Am Alive is not worth the same money Journey is priced that's for sure but i would sell it more downloads than Journey because gamers wants to play main stream titles with biggers number stuck to them :yuck:

Still Journey is awesome experience, you don't have to treat it like a video game, try it as an experience. Awesome 👍

Completed my 6th Journey today with Ryou (AKA Trent or SuperGTRacer). Thought I'd do a bit of a write-up (**CONTAINS SPOILERS!!!**)

The Battle of the Scarves

We decided to meet up at the same place at the same time (to be more specific, the far left corner in the Bridge level). We hopped on Facebook Chat so we were able to talk and time our movements together (so we were able to advance to the Bridge at the same time). Almost immediately we caught up with each other, I saw someone going to the same place and knew it must've been Trent. I made sure it was him by sending him a pic of my symbol for that Journey and doing little 360s and certain chirp patterns. We screwed around in the Bridge level for a while, grabbing the symbols (I wanted to 'elongate my scarf' :dopey:), flying around, chirping to "Row, Row, Row your Boat" (and Trent falling off the Bridge ).

Trent said that he wanted to get some food, so he told me to wait and not to sit down at the Altar Being the ass that I am (well, I just didn't see the message :P), I went in the circle while Trent was still standing and we DC'd from each other :(. We decided to see if we can re-connect while in the Desert to no avail. We tried walking away from the mountain to the level limit (where the wind starts pushing you back) and then where the first symbol is located. The only person I could find was a red-clock (Trent was white, so it wasn't him). He saw to other white-coats, but I wasn't either of them. So we decided to go back to the Bridge level and start over (which we were able to do immediately so we started on our Journey again).

I really liked the desert bit, we timed our chirping and flying (chirping near another player fills up their "Scarf Power" so they could fly for longer), so as long as we stayed together (and chirped when the other person was almost out) we stayed in the air. Trent complimented on my scarf but said that his one was better so we had a chirping argument on whose scarf was better. It got really loud and angry when we were flying as well . At the Altar Trent said that the 'higher being' will tell us whose scarf is better while I said we could do "Rock, Paper, Scissors." To decide teh scarf winnar (or Rock, Cloth, Scissors in this case).

We raced down the Sunken City (with me getting the 'Adventure Trophy' - slide under 15 arches) and I won both halves of the race. I got a bit emotional during the last part where the camera pans to the mountain and there's a :censored:load of lens flare. We tried to go "behind the scenes" (out of the map) once we went underground and we failed, although we were able to trigger the music again :D. We silently walked/swam through the first half, taking in the scenery. Although I had to comment on how the jelly-cloths spun around when you touched them (is that 'clothilia'?) Trent said that the first time he played the game he had some headphones on and they were loud. He got freaked out by the Guardian when it first jumped up. He also said that losing your scarf is like losing your manhood .

We made it through the Ocean/Underground area and made it to the temple. I started getting goosebumps at this point and said that "This. Game. Is. Amazing. Srs time. Only scarf arguments nao." Trent told me to wait and did a little seizure/"funky dance" before we set off. We were both really into the game at that point - the music in the Temple is just amazing. I asked what the magic tasted like and Trent suggested it was chocolate. We made it up to the Altar - our last leg was upon us.

"I wonder if the Cloth-People celebrate Christmas."
"Yeah, probably. Worshipping a giant white, blue eyed Cloth Santa."
"And a Cloth-mas tree."

We stopped chatting through the snow area. I was surprised that Trent went in front of the pillars to shelter from the wind, while I went behind them - the wind actually tears the scarf. We successfully hid from the Guardian and neither of our scarves were torn (w00t). Once we were at the area with lots of the cloth-weed I made another comment on the music. And that I desperately needed the album.

We were silent until we both fell in the snow. I was glad that neither of us was chatting, it's always an emotional time when you fall in the sn-"I'M DEAD :L"
I responded with "and EVERYONE DIED! The End :3"
What a way to ruin the moment

When the higher cloth-beings brought us back we got our 'manhood' (scarves) back as well :P. I realised that the final level is a lot like the rest of the Journey. You cross cloth much like the Broken Bridge, you slide down (Sunken City) to an underwater area (Underground) and you rise up on Jelly Cloths to the top (Temple), go across some snow and rise up in the Golden Magic/Symbols (much like when you're brought back to life).

Once we were at the top, we slowly made our way through. Having a little chirp here and there. I made another comment about the music (God, it's so moving!) I said, "I can't believe what anyone wouldn't want this game!" I even messaged another friend telling him to get it (he still says no :grumpy:). Trent mentioned that he teared up at the end (🤬 weakling :P).

Was one of my favourite (and funniest) Journeys. Just goes to show that journeying with a friend is as good as journeying with a stranger (although I am a little strange :P)
Thanks for the awesome Journey, Trent!
'Twas "Beautiful, Fun and Humorus" :D

And I still had the prettier scarf :mischievous:
EDIT: I just bought the Journey OST off of PSN. I love having spare credit :D
