Anybody know of a site with jpop mp3's. I don't care for certain artists.

The second sentence there really points out a lot of what is wrong with these forums.

You don't care about how good anything is as long as it's Japanese. That's all you care about. What if someone said "I like American music, it doesn't matter what artists! It's all good!" You people would flame him without mercy.

I listened to about 2 hours of jpop the other day on a college radio station. It sounded exactly like the stuff I have to hear at my dentist's office, except you couldn't understand the words. I stuck with it just to see if I could understand the fuss. I still couldn't. Sounds just like American pop with higher voices.

I guess "different" = "better". I never did understand that. The foreign exchange guy always gets laid unless he's a total caveman.

I don't know, I just have this wierd attraction to Jpop since i heard that song "Simple and Clean" on the Kingdom hearts commercial, i've been hooked.

Sounds like you'd be breaking the law of sound pollution anyway. Japanese pop? That just has BAD IDEA written all over it. Japanime is bad enough.

Most Jpop I've heard was sent to me by friends who know what type of music I like. From that list, I liked it quite a bit, but other stuff I've downloaded was just too high pitched and not my cup of tea. There are several anime OST's I don't mind though. Cowboy Bebop being at the top of the list.

Oh, and by the way, it IS illegal to download jpop just like with any other copyrighted music.

most Jpop is crap, I reckon, and with experience. I tell you, Jpop aint a good idea. but there are some stuff, as in everything, that is very good. sadly, very very few pop artists from japan are. if you want pure, downright scary, honey-dripping Jpop, I'd recommend Hikaru Utada. if that aint your ticket, get some rock/punk/grunge Jrock in the form of the pillows (GRRRREAT BAND. I mean it, GREAT.), Sider 44, condor, Krush Posse (cool surf. REALLY) and, well, many anime osts that have good songs. I absolutely recommend everything from yoko kanno (precisely, the woman that made the soundtrack to cowboy bebop, wich I must say, its total genius). Earth girl arujuna, Escaflwone, Macross plus, wolf's Rain, ghost in the shell stand alone complex... all of these OSTS are amazing, have incredible music and sound quality, and are all by this woman. serve yourself.

Shonen Knife are cool, too. They've got the "J" thing going but definitely not the "pop", which is good.
