That's a very interesting tune you have going on there, I would have to see it in action to belive it.

I don't want this to sound bad but I just don't know how to put it. Some things that you do in the video are pointless and make no sense. For example the thing you do at the end where you first put your 1st gear to the right by 10 clicks and then go put your final to the left by one click and then 1st to the right again by 10 clicks and then final back to 3080. Not sure how many times it was repeated in the video because it was very confusing and I forgot. You could just leave final at 3080 and shorten (put to the right) 1st by 20 (or 30?) clicks.

And what you do with the tranny from 0:00 to 3:15 is totally pointless. Since the Max speed slider just puts in pre-set numbers for that top speed. Plus, I don't really understand your tranny flipping method. Your top speed is far too big for a 1/4 mile (I am guessing that is your distance of choice since you were practicing on Indy). I don't have the game but from what I saw from the video, this is how you should flip the transmission:
1. Set your final to around 3800-4000*
2. Set your Top speed to 124
3. Set your final to 2500
4. Adjust gears (1st and probably 2nd all the way to left, leave 3rd as is or put it left a bit, 5th all the way right, 6th far right and at the end aline 4th on the graph).

But before doing all that, I'd suggest reading the sticky thread on here.

Again, this is not meant to be offensive, just trying to help you as much as I can. If I had the game, I'd be sure to help you on PSN. As much as it might sound stupid to you now, you will probably thank me sometime later in your drag racing path.

*These numbers may differ, it's just an estimation. The most I can provide as I don't have the game.

Question: What's the point of moving the individual gears over to the right, if you're just going to move the max speed slider over, after you've moved the individual gears? Once you move the top speed slider, all the movements you've done on individual gears gets reset.

Edit: Janco beat me.

It might seem pointless to some of us, but he is showing newbies what the transmission flip is and how changes to gears work after a flip. I wanted to say something earlier, but I remembered that not everyone in the community flips the same way. We should value the opportunity to tune with Jrichmond because he's trying something completely different than anything we do normally.

[quote="Master__Shake_, post: 9444383, member: 163773"[/quote] 👍 All it takes is someone to be a little ambitious

i can explain... the .10 to right.... and 1 on final drive it lowers the mph without scarifing good first gear it also lowers your gear so your first gear doesn't get hogged it also lowers your first gear so the rpm is more stable on tire acceleration....so it doesn't spin as much if you put the fianl drive and just lower the first without the f.d it will spin faster then if you did the trick in the video ;)

doesn't sound stupid you just have a diffrent perspective.... i only switched to psn last month lol

Should I make a video about it also? I feel like sometimes when people are shown different ways to flip in different videos they get confused. Especially since I do mine a specific way, though I need to watch this video to understand everything . But I feel like I can simplify things if need be.

Oh dear yes I'm going to make a video tomorrow. I have an itch to go more into detail tomorrow.

one thing i forgot to mention if you switch the purpose -.01 and +.01l it goes both ways example... tell you right here lol

FD -.01 + first gear which =s + .10 = .09 ratio added

FD +.01 + first gear which =s -.10 = -.09 ratio added

so lets just say you has a 2.500 ratio ok.....you add f.d -.01 you will have a 2.499 ratio but your first gear will be longer so what you do is correct that with a +.10 now things will get really confusing if you have a 2.499 ratio and you add a .10 on first ger what happens your first gear is two short so you add -.10 to even it out makes sence to me and it works wonders ;)

go ahead man i learn diffrent allways have i dont use other peoples guides or other peoples ways of tunning ;)

you might think it will but keep adjusting it little by little you will see the mph go down with out a normal flip when it would normally start to spin

Again with the double post? I thought Master__Shake_ told you to quit double posting almost an hour from now. Now please edit your post's before you get in trouble with the Mod's.👍

But what you refuse to comprehend is that the second ypu move the gear box or "top speed" it resets all gears to stock ratios but over a different gear box so if you just found your flip point then fliped your transmission and tuned your gears from there it would do the exact same thing.

I NEED HELP

When i want tuned a car my process is:
-find my final gear
-put my top speed on left
-put my final gear on left
-set my gear (2nd long,5th 6th short and 3rd 4th how i prefer.)(RwD car)

Is it great?

Do you have tips to find my final gear (to my mind it's the difficult part of tuned)

You pretty much got it right. 2nd is usually adjusted for bog or to much wheel spin at launch.
A good place to start finding a final is .5-.750 from minimum final.
Lower the original final if the gears are to long, raise the original final if the gears are to short

mod please delete this post as it is not of service lol got a better one coming out cause not i hate explaining im just explaining though the video

BTW double posting is posting the same thing twice inless your seeing two post i didn't post it twice thanks

I think there is a miscommunication. I'll show you in the AUP. Double posting is when you "Double Post" Post twice in a row.

please even delete this account dont need gtplanet ;)
Just stop responding/viewing if you dont want to be here.
No one is forcing you are they?:scared:

Also, my if tip made you feel the need to shoot a new vid, ok just edit your first post no need to get so sensitive.:odd:

But I must agree there are different theories, but you never exactly show, how to set up the Trans, you give a few odd tips on launching.
By odd I mean a final higher then the minimum possible. Any final higher then the minimum final = a loss of mechanical TQ multiplication.
Yes a higher final feels like more pull but its not always more...

I figured this might happen. Jrichmond's method was different than the normal way we do things, and he didn't understand the format of the forums, so he mistook our criticism for bashing. As much as I hate tune beggars, I welcome anyone who tries to tune themselves. For anyone else who is trying to tune, whether you use the method of my guide or not, please don't let this be something that turns you away from drag racing. I would rather have 100 tune-it-yourself'ers than 1 beggar.

ill see yall in the forza 4 area been on that game for over 8 years this less than 4 months and im hating it allready lol

It is not hate its is just trying to help you out by saving time and creating further knowledge of tuning.

So after only playing GT6 for the time its been out, you're not only switching to Forza but selling your PS3 as well? That's harsh. One game ruined your entire view of Sony?
Criticism is not always handled well by everyone regardless if it is out of good intentions.
