So nice. Now I only have to wait for GT4 and I'm all set. I have GT3 for now. Smaller than I thought it would be.

I suggest everyone get it.

where and how much?

anyone find any good deals on this wheel? i will be getting it soon.

dont see any in Chicago area yet :(

Is that the one that has the momo steering wheel, and gear-shift knob? Also supports 900 degree turning?

Im a little bit confused on the wheels that are available..i wanna get one soon, but i dont really know which one..
Suggestions?

yes, tell me how mcuh and where! I hope it's under $150 CAN....

I just got the wheel too, been playing it with GT3.

I know its not designed to turn 900 degrees for GT3, but when Its uplugged, I read somewhere you would be able to turn it 900 degrees, which I still am not able to do. Is there a switch or something?

Haha, only in your dreams perhaps will you get it for 150$ CDN. Expect something above 200$ unfortunately :( The canadian Logitech site still has no m.s.r.p for the wheel on the site and no release date :irked:

I can turn it 900º when unplugged. Either something is wrong with your wheel or your mistaken.

When in the middle, it turns 450º (one full turn, then a half) to the left and 450º to the right.

Does it have to be unlocked with prologue first or something, because I don't have prologue yet. I need to know so I can return it soon if its not working properly. Where you able to turn it 900 degrees before hooking it up to prologue?

i have the same thing, i think its just the hardware is set from the game, i dont think its a problem.

i was able to turn it the full 900 degrees when i first got it, but once i played it w/ gt3 or something else, doesnt go 900 when its unplugged.

but im sure if its reset by the game, itl go 900

unless there is something wrong

Push SELECT+R1+R3 together.

Thanks Celeryb, works great now the 900 on the pc as well.....man must be crazy to race with the wheel for 24 hours, tiring for your arms....much simpler with a pad where you only use your fingers..

yea good call,

the 900 degrees works great now on PC, but not extremely well with some of the ps2 games.

it kind of works w/ gt3, but it only gives you like almost 2 turns before you max out, its still more than before, but makes it a little weird for control

i also tried it on race driver pro, works there, but the force feedback doesnt seem to go well w/ the 900 degrees, just doesnt feel right

i also tried it ferrari 355 challenge, you get a huge deadzone in the middle before you start turning, so i guess no, it doesnt work

anyone else try the 900 degrees that works w/ some of the ps2 games?

thanks

Picked up the Logitech Pro wheel last night from a local GameSpot and IMHO, it's 'better' than the GT Driving wheel but it's not all that...don't get me wrong, it's definately worth the $149 I paid for it but this is what I found out when playing the following games:

GT3 - A tad bit better in wheel tension but the FFB (Force Feed Back) is not as 'high'.

Ferrari 355 Challenge: Can't get the 'gas pedal' to work. Everything else works though. Even with the car coasting from high speeds the wheel response is pretty good.

PRD (Pro Race Driver) Wheel response is good but the wheel tension goes out the door as soon as the game starts. Think of the wheel acting like you're in a real NASCAR driving this 3000lb peice of sheetmetal w/out the use of powersteering...

To me, that's what every wheel should feel like..but when it's there in 7 out of 10 games, when you put in game 8 or 9, you get this sudden urge to not want to play that game anymore...or at least go back to using a DS because you now have this feeling like you're driving a Lexus LS4000....around Sears Point??? Nah..sorry..that's not what I'm looking for!

The 900 degree of wheel turn is DEFINATELY noticeable and self appreciating...it definately helped me get lower times.

NFS - Underground: Decent wheel response, minimal FFB but when compared to using the GT FFB wheel...I'lll take the Pro one any day. It's not all that bad!

I've not had as much time to play the rest of my games that can utilize a wheel so I'll post them later if it might help someone.

i have just got this wheel too and love it so far,, on the pc... still havent pluged it in to my playstation yet.. isnt that ironic..
but there is a couple of things im finding though, has anyone notice 1/16" - 1/8" of slack in the center?? feels like the pitch of the gears is low with a lot of space between the teeth. i dont know,, is it meant to be that way?? my last wheel i had was the nascar pro force feedback and it to this day has no slack..
did i get a dud or did they do it like that to tone down the efects of ociliation.. you guys check your wheel for me and see if you also got this little bit of slack/play. one thing i also noticed was in f1 02 challenge (for pc) and thunder 2004 (pc) have this wierd feeling to the feedback on this wheel. when driving straight, you feel it vibrating going perfefectly straight and also feel a resistance holding you from keeping it in the center..
works great on nascar 2003 in 900 mode.
im still trying it with more games,, mostly on the pc for now cause you can change the range of the controler on the pc where the ps2 has to be more tweaked in the games for 900 mode.
well im out ...

i've had the wheel about a 4 days now... AU$280 from Games Wizards.

V8RD2 = 3-4 reduction in lap times from the keyboard. 900 degree mode allows for much finer steering input, which is most welcome in this game

But most impressive (i think) is the performance in the GTR press demo. In the pits, the engine fires... and the wheel has the chugg of the Morgan V8 passing thru to my fingertips. Coupled with 6.1 surround sound... It's pure magic. And the fact either 900 or 270 mode works with GTR is really good too.

Haven't tried it in GT3 or GTC yet... will get around to it next week.

What games do you recommend for the PC? I've hooked it up, and it works, I just don't have a game to play it with.

tweakmaster420 ,

Is there a possibility that the feedback you experience on Thunder 2004 when going straight is because a NASCAR set up for an oval track automatically turns left to make it easier on the driver and post faster lap times?

Is it officially available in the uk yet?

gonna get it with prologue if it is, come the end of the month.

i saw it at best buy at the HIP

well, i figures out the prob with the force feedback in f1c and thunder 2004, the feedback for this wheel and all logitech wheels for that matter need to be set in the negative in the forces strength slider, in other words -100 for full power. i been noticing when tweaked right,, this wheel has the feel that no other wheel can match. you feel more of the road and what the car is doing..
and those that are havin counter steer stiffness , its not the wheel,, turn of damping and spring forces in the control panel. (set this way for nascar 2003 , thunder 2004 and F1C).
whats really getting on my nerves though is the prob im havin with NFS/PU i been wanting to play that game for a long time being i never got a chance to since i have had started using ffb wheels. i have this prob: when i go to set up my controler in options on nfs:pu right after i select the driving force from the dropdown my mouse arrow disapears on me makin it imposible to map the keys and axis. this is very frusfrating as the game runs fine but no wheel:confused: and the slack in the wheel,, you dont notice it while playing a game really,, just if you sit there in windows and use your finger to lightly wiggle it back and forth.
OH AND BTW IN LOCK OUT MODE ITS MORE LIKE 180 DEGREE.
TOCA RACER 2 IT WORKS GREAT IN 900 MODE,, YOU JUST HAVE TO TWEAK YOU SATURATION IN THE GAME TO GIVE IT ABOUT 500 DEGREE TURN RADIUS CAUSE THE RESPONCE CURVE OF THESE GAMES ARENT MADE FOR 900 DEGREES OF ACURACY. but it is amazing how acurate the pots are in this wheel.
well,, im still trying different games and tweaking it in them.
i will let know of anything else i find out.
later:)
