:D Well, learners license, its the first step to getting a Full license in NZ:

Learners License: 6 months + 'L' plate
Restricted: 18-12 (12 months if you do a defensive driving course)
the onto a Full License.

I was really worried that I would fail because I hadnt studied all that much, but I only got 2 questions wrong and your only allowed 3 wrong (32/35 is the lowest pass, 31 is a fail). Im so proud of myself, especially since I didnt studied and had a friend telling me for 5 days straight that I would fail. I would've been so embarrased if I had failed, but now I can go around my class skyting (sp?), Im the first to get a drivers license. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Jeeez wayne, I've only just got it about 4 hours ago slow down man  (all of a sudden I taste the smell of cigar smoke - yummy :odd: ) But no, I wont do skids, Im not that sorta driver, and anyway ths car chews up tires pretty regulary (how the hell do you spell that?) and my dad wont be too pleased, hes not an aggresive driver and he wants me to be a calm driver as well so......

I know Robin I used it as a figure of speech (I think). But I get the worst feelings of guilt, I just wouldnt be able to do it, I know that I would want to do it and would be tempted to, but just the way that my parents brought me up means I get really guilty at even the smallest things.......

I did do a tiny-tiny-tiny-tiny-tiny-tiny-tiny skid in my dads truck, ute whatever you wanna call it, I turn it around (so its facing up the driveway) and I slammed on the brakes as I was backing back @ about 4 clicks and one of the front wheels skidded, I also like dropping the clutch, makes tiny skids.

Go hire a 500bhp car, and celebrate down at the local track :curvyrd: Or will you need a full license for that? :burnout:

You should be able to spin the wheels, I managed it in a 1.0L :nissan: Micra

Have the clutch at just before the bite
Count 1 >> 2 >> 3
On the third count give it full gas and bring the clutch as fast as possible through the bite
And hey presto you did your first wheel spin? :spin:

I drop the clutch in my dads truck (see post #16), but this is an automatic, and I dont wanna go around wrecking the gearbox or anything

Cool Cobra!

The 3 peels sometimes just by flooring it...when we took it to get emissions tested(and it passed with flying colors), as we were leaving the lot, my bro floored it and there was "err err errr errrrrrrrr"...I really haven't done one by myself(I've floored it but didn't have the right surroundings or something and it just went no skid).

And a friend that lives a block from me drove(he's got his license) down to my house to barrow a text book...as he was leaving I said "Peel out!" and he's like "how?"(mind you he's in this old decraped Dodge Sundance/Shadow/whatever) and I said "Just slam on the gas" so he does, and the engine doesn't do anything for a while then it bogs down and flung the car forward...I laughed.

Kinda off topic...
Last night coming back from Ponderosa(here in STL, not the sniper one), all 4 of us are smashed in my dad's Probe, and we are at a light next to a Ranger, and he looked like he wanted to race(and we had to get home before 8pm to watch a TV show), so my dad floors it in first(skidding a tad) and shifts hard into second and the clutch is wearing out so there was about 3 secs of the engine at high revs and the trans going slower and it was funny as hell. He's replacing the clutch soon anyway...

Quick, tell everyone in New Zealand to stay in their homes and to stay off of thier lawns and sidewalks! Cobra-"Man" has his learner's licence!!!

:D

Seriously though,

Hows it feel? Pretty darn good doesn't it? Now only 18 months with a defensive driving course and your in...:) Good job man, and congrats..

Nah, none of the above really. I just thought it would be fun to do a brake test right in front of the gate (it's private property, so it's okay if I drive there - and sometimes I'm allowed to re-arrange the cars on our lot) so I just slammed the brakes and the car just slipped into the gate a tad. I dented the plates and scratched the gate a little. No harm done.

I've done worse stuff.

congrats cobraboy on getting your learners permit, i got mine back in july and will be recieving my licence on january 5 (if i pass the test)

i have already got a car too- a '90 honda prelude si, it is a manual and has 140hp!
me and my dad are currently in the process of taking of the body moldings in order to remove dents and patch rust spots before we repaint it. if you guys could tell me how to post a pic i will

...and no i wont do any "skidds" in it (it has 145000mi on it) but i do burnout in my moms '71 super bettle and if i realy wanted to drive like a maniac my dad said he'd put me in a midget next year.
