Hmmm... looks like a loser to me. A powerboat with a roof? The whole point of getting on the boat is so that you can have scantily clad women lying around tanning.

Or you could have the boat for, oh I don't know, speed. If you want sun you can open the doors or sit on the back. Although yes a regular boat would be better, but where's the fun in that. Sitting in the water all day getting sun burnt isn't exactly on the top of my list.

That looks like a the perfect boat for me. Great sound, great shade from the sun, and plenty of speed and good looks.

Aero isn't exactly the defining factor in a boat's speed: if that were the case, we'd have boats as fast as cars. But we typically don't. It's the drag from water against the hull.

So, a closed-roof boat is really not all that much faster than an open roof boat. However, on the scantily-clad babe front, I can think of one advantage, particularly for smaller boats...

Still not getting it. If you told me I could take my car out the the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and go as fast as I wanted - I'd tell you I don't see the point. Tell me I can take the same car to Laguna Seca and now you've got me excited.

Optimally you have both. But you'd be surprised at how much privacy you can have when you're far away from everything.

The whole point of recreational boating is to be in the sun and have the wind in your face and an open-air experience. Go fishing... whatever. You wouldn't go out in bad weather anyway, so having a roof is pointless and stupid.

The corvette boat is cool, but I'd much rather have a targa version.

I love the first two boats. And if I actually bought one of those boats, I'd have another boat to enjoy the partying and the sun. I don't think I'm missing the point at all.

It all depends on what type of person you are. Personally I hate being in the sun and having my face ripped off while at full speed isn't exactly my idea of a great experience.

That boat with a roof could give you all the creature comforts of a car, maybe even air con, but the ability to have great fun on the water. My idea of fun on the water though is just messing around going as fast as possible.

If you hate being in the sun then boating isn't for you. The whole point of boating is water recreation in the sun. There wouldn't be much of a point to a boat that is covered unless you plan on crossing the ocean or off shore racing.

The R8 boat is cool and all but barring I had hundreds of thousands to throw at a watercraft I wouldn't buy one. There are yachts out there that do the job just as well and are much nicer.

My father has a ocean racing boat (ex ocean racer), we fly a long in the sea with it, it has a windshield and he added a foldable/removeable canopy. We don't get blasted by sea air and we don't recieve nasty sunburns (this is Australia don't forget).


Personally I don't like boats without windshields.
