'round here, we have plenty of boats, but not big ones...That's because the Illinois River's not that deep in places, especially off the channel. Yachts are out of the question, large ones, anyway. Biggest stuff out here is the river barges, which are flat-bottomed and don't float that deep.

Actually, yes, yes you do.

Most waterways have designated lanes of travel for all watercraft, and, in certain areas, such as near large cities or protected wildlife areas, speed limits...often 5-10 mph...are enforced.

:lol: I meant in the lakes and oceans where you can open 'er up, I knew that waterways and around areas with peoples you have to have little or no wake. :p
