Not exactly a car, but it has 4 wheels, so that was the closest forum to post this:

Gibbs Quadski

50 mph on land or water, and you switch modes in 5 seconds:

(don't turn up the volume, there's no sound)

It's still a prototype, but I can't see why they wouldn't produce it. Let's hope it'll be slightly more affordable than their $200K amphibian car though. :indiff:

As is always the case with something like this, you can buy a better quad and a a better jet ski (and probably for considerably less money). For me, the novelty factor would wear off really quickly, I'd always know it would have made more sense to buy separate vehicles for each task. It'll sell well if it does get produced at a reasonable price though, no doubt.

edit: I bet it handles like a boat too (sorry, couldn't resist) :p

I think a 50 mph speed for both configuration isn't too shabby, but the ground clearance does seem a bit low for rough terrain. Either way, it'll certainly reach places you coudn't in an atv (and obviously a jetski), or at least you'll be getting there much quicker. Going through a lake instead of around it is a very appealing feature. It's also a lot less trouble to haul or get in the water than a jetski.

I'd rather get a Honda ATV and a Honda waterbike. Both are faster than this, and combined, they'll priobably cost less than this thing.
It's too damn wide to be a true ATV, and there are crappy tires on it and low ground clearance too.
Booring.

If you could get it road legal, than something like that would be ideal in London, for example, if you live on one side of the Thames and work on the other. Might even be congestion charge exempt. That's assuming you could buy it cheap enough, of course.
