Hey,

I've been following KartSim for some time hoping it would finally get released. The dev has just posted on facebook they're looking for support on Steam Greenlight.

Looks promising and thought I'd pass it along.

Just came here to put this up on GTplanet but looks like its already done. A good mate of mine is behind the project and I'm trying to help him spread the word. Here is a post I Put up on the iRacing forums.

Hi guys,

A good friend of mine has been working on this game for a very long time. The original idea is over 10 years old even though he has only been physically working on it for around 7 years. When it first started I gave him a heap of criticism, I don't know how many times I told him it would be "vapourware" or how many times I asked him to add in ridiculous things (for the grass to sway when you drove passed it or for each blade to be individually modeled, for the trees to not look like pieces of paper or for them to stop swaying in the breeze like it was the middle of a cyclone). Anyway I'm now prepared to eat my hat, with the announcement today that KartSim is going to Early Access on Steam Greenlight.

Now after having an opportunity to test this game in Unity (which included many nights of sitting there for 2 hours and not getting to even turn a lap as he tried to sort out teething issues with his scratch built multiplayer code) I can see it is some of the most intense racing I have experienced behind my Sim Wheel. This game will certainly be much easier to pick up and play as the nature of Kart racing is much shorter and sharper than what we are used to here in iRacing. Banging out race lengths in 8-15 minutes, something to play while you are waiting for your next iRacing Race???

Anyway get along to steam greenlight and give him a vote. Its either make or break for Kartsim now and he's put in too much effort to let it slip by the wayside!!!

I'm interested. The multiplayer could get a bit annoying with the sandbox mode, but nobody says one have to use it. :p

I think the Sandbox mode is so you can walk/drive around the track and explore it take pictures etc.

Indeed, but it also shows pushing tyre walls around onto the track and stuff, could be a pain for people if others just much about with it and abuse the system.
