Kazunori talks about italian exotics!!!

This is something I got from IGN, but we all know the great Italian names wont be in GT4, I really hope Mr. Kazunori put Lamborghinis, but I think that we will need to wait to GT5 or a GT with only European Exotics, you know, like a special Edition, Like "GT Concept", but instead a "GT Exotique" with Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, McLarens, etc.....

Well this is what it says:

"And then of course there is the speculation on the big exotic car names, the Porsches, Lamborghinis, and most desired of all, the Ferraris. These cars have previously been exlusive to EA, but that exclusive licence is reported to end this year and Kazunori himself said that he would consider postponing the release of GT4 by half a year if that meant he could put Ferrari in the game.

In a later interview, the more prominent presence of European Exotics was announced, adding more speculation. When recently Mr. Kazunori announced a special surprise for us at GT4, the only thing I could think of was Ferrari. No other aspect of the game has such a big question mark over it, and I really expect nothing less."

Hope there still a surpise for us, although maybe the surprise was the new Human engine in the game.....

In keeping with European exotics, has there been any word on Bugatti being included?

It does sound like it's old news to talk about Ferrari and Lamborghini. To me, I think Lamborghini has a better chance of getting into GT4 and here's why. I heard of that JGTC Lamborghini driven by the Nomad team. Now sure, the JGTC may not mean that all cars including the JGTC variant will be in GT4. But if you ask me, Lamborghini has some history to it. I think if Ferrari isn't going to allow PD to showcase its cars like they did with dare I say, Project Gotham Racing 2 (as an off-topic note, I'll discuss PGR2 from a different perspective in a future post). I'm not going to excite any GTPlanet newcomers, but since this news was from way back and E3 has come and gone for almost a week now, there may be a VERY slight chance the Italian exotics will be in the house for GT4.

And as a side note, Porsche is German, not Italian.

Sorry, but that is indeed outdated stuff. I wrote this before E3 when all we could do was speculate. At E3 IGN Cars' Editor in Chief Tyrone Rodriguez asked Mr. Kazunori in person about Ferrari and Porsche, and he replied that they wouldn't make it for GT4, but maybe GT5. You can read about this in the E3 Hands-On that Tyrone posted a little later.

Well it can be Ferrari. On gt4p pal Bonus dvd is a movie: The making of a driver, Ferraris are shown there, and modena is pretty often there :).
 
Whats the point of posting old news from ign? EVERYONE goes to ign and checks anyway :P
 
A "GT Exotique" expansion pack is an excellent idea though. Someone tell KY!

The big announcement was the Nurburgring Nordschlief.

Are you sure it CAN be since at E3 KY said Porsche and Ferrari won't make it into GT4 but are still possible in the GT series.
 
Maybe KY want to Ferrari and Porsche(RUF) will be in GT5.
 
He might have the licenses but be holding them back for GT5, think about it, if he puts everything into GT4, it only leave updated models to appear in GT5 rather than completely new (to the game) wanted marques.
 
that is THE most depressing comment iv read here ever live4speed. cause if they could be putting a ferrari in right now (yeah were guessing but "IF") and instead there putting a car no-one will ever try (in comparison) just so they have something for the next game, then thats NOT good at all. especially when we wont seen the next game for 2 years MINIMUM after gt4 is released. and its likely to be ps3 by that time so surely the fmv graphics (would almost put money on it), better physics, more gaming modes and new cars would be enough to sell gt5 and the need to hold cars back that could be in shouldnt be there... hope your wrong

From what I've gathered, it seems like PD is doing everything possible to make GT4 as perfect as possible, given technological and legal limitations. Otherwise, we wouldn't be waiting till November for the game, and would be playing GT4 right now, or waiting only a few more weeks.

They're taking time to fine tune the play, and add as many more cars as possible right now. If Ferrari or others are feasible to put in the game, they'll be there. I really doubt anything is going to be held back, seeing as this is probably the last GT on PS2.

I'm betting that with GT5, it will be a LOT more than just a prettied up version of 4.

I dont think we will see a gt5 game on the ps2 again when the time laps between gt3 and gt4 if repeated is long enough for ps3 to come out. But I wouldnt mind another gt concept game but gt4 should take some time to finish
 
but hey.. you;d buy a ps3 for gt5.. i know i would. and thats progress
 
I'm sorry but I have had enough now. I know theres all this, 'lets wait untill it is perfect' but the way all this has drawn out is rediculous. Couldn't they have A) released it at a closer time to the build up of the hype or B) kept their traps shut 'till a month or two before the games release, Cause I've been dieing for this game since Xmas, and I've had enough.
This may anger some of the perfectionists in this forum, but I'm not a perfectionist..Just ask 911_Carrera.
 
theres no such thing as perfection. so attempting to reach it is futile. theres aways something that could look better or a gamepay element that coud be tweaked
 
well, what I mean is,' exploiting the advances in technology form GT3 to the max and using them to their full abilities in GT4, so to maximise game play and graphics of this game'

i wasnt correcting you! i was merely stating that if polyphony are panning on perfection at the end of this (and thats whats taking so long..) you may as well buy the game out of your pension.
