I really wish that people would tell him on twitter the things we didn't like that way for 6 which I agree he shouldn't be talking about

I think we need to get someone who can read / write japanese onto twitter to let him know what the rest of the world thinks about these issues so that we can make some "traction" and get the leaderboards, online xp / money, more single player races, tuning individual gear ratios etc etc fixed asap!!!!.......

IMO If we could earn XP and cash online, then I may actually do races against other peole, currently I'm too infatuated with collecting all the cars like pokemon and leveling up to 40 to care about online, yeah it's fun to have some battles with your friends but it's got no reward apart from wasting precious leveling and money making time.......imo

While the development team is looking to expand their horizons when it comes to patching Gran Turismo 5, they have assured that new-fangled cars and courses will never be available via patches. "They may be added as expansion content," the series creator said, "or we may leave it until the next title."

I do not have much in the way of expectations regarding GT5 getting much better.

You've got to be kidding? Those kind of patches would be a saving grace for Gran Turismo 5.

How long do we have to wait for GT6?

Except we know the BMW 1 M Coupe is coming soon...

I guess any talk of updates / dlc is mych better than none... have to just see what comes when..

BUT if some one can get this idea to Kaz in his native language...

You can kill nearly all 'GRINDING' comments by adding Xp/Cr for the GT life races on your custom tracks. (took me ages to find this - but no reward for doing so!)

Should be easy to make up some formula for what to give based on car Lv and length - use the existing events as a starting point...

Then even add Bspec to the mix on custom tracks?....

Lets see what we get on the 20th....

When Kaz says GT6... we know its the same game engine. We know they will reuse the whole of GT5 and add to it. But dang, Kaz, the effin game is not fixed. Just stop with GT6, consumers know better nowadays and I bet loads of people would not buy a GT6 if it looked and played as merely just an expansion to GT5.

Why? This is a "driving" simulation, not a "racing" simulation. If you want to handicap yourself and use a less powerful car, have at it - I choose not to. I just enjy the drive.

If I want to RACE, then I would fire up rFactor or GTLegends or GTR2 etc.

Thankfully there are many more millions of us DRIVING fans that have bought the GT games over the years than RACING fans - and Kaz knows this :)

While you are 100% correct, i would love to see a racing mode in GT games!

Get rid of b-spec and get a racing game in there instead! 👍

I wish someone would "thank" him on twitter for destroying the GT series with this quarter finished game. And that he can stick GT6 where the sun doesn't shine..

Don't know. All we do know is that it's LARGE.
IMHO no graphical fix this round, for "LARGE" they mean leaderboards and unlocking of savegames...that honestly sound enough for me, especially because the game is just 2 months old (...ehhm not counting 6+ years of development :D)

I don't seem to find any mention of the update turning on the ability to adjust the "Fully Adjustable" Gearbox. Most of the other issues with the game can be explained in a logical fashion somehow .... not being able to adjust the individual gear ratios makes no sense whatsoever. Does anyone know anymore information relating to this point ?

The way the interface has been designed made it difficult to combine the automated setting (speed) and manual gear adjustments together. This is the official excuse.

You mean choosing the final speed instead of the final gear ratio? But in GT5P you would choose the final gear ratio and it would update the top speed for each gear accordingly, as well as the top speed (a.k.a. last gear top speed). I don't see how it's any different.

Unless they wanted you to be able to tinker around with gear ratios without altering the final top speed? Even so it wouldn't be that hard. All they had to do was alter the last gear ratio accordingly...

Anyway, this should have been fixed in version 1.01.

The point is that they have been unable to create an interface to provide both an easy and an advanced way to set up gears, so they stuck with the speed setting.

I see. Well, they could just stick to the way they always did it...

OK, they are not completely satisfied with the interface, I understand. But cutting out such an important feature because of it? Come on. It's just the damn interface. And it's not like we are not used to changing gear ratios in GT already.

Maybe they cut out the fully customizable transmission so that we won't be able to get the X1 to reach Mach 1 because PD couldn't simulate breaking the sound barrier? 💡

And why not just transfer the interface used in GT4? You could individually set each ration, OR you could set the level to 5-25. That made perfect sense to me.

If you click on the ? mark when you are adjusting the transmission, it says that you can individually set each ratio. Did they forget to add this feature?

Oh my, that is the official excuse for not being able to adjust individual gear ratios??   did PD forget how they did it in GT4? that is mind boggling! :irked:

There is alot to programming that we don't know. I don't think PD are that retarded to exclude such an important feature just like that. Surely the physics and hence the adjustment to the car's transmission must be different to GT4's model. They probably had to make it from scratch and are encountering issues in implementing it.

The fact that he used the word "automated" suggests to me that they're trying to have the tranny auto-adjust to each track for us, so that we don't have to mess with settings at all. I can't think of any other way it makes any sense whatsoever, because as the above posters said, the fully adjustable gear ratios have been in since GT3... at least as I recall. Maybe GT1?

There are so many aspects of this crazy game that make no sense. But still, can't find the desire to play anything else. ;)

I hate that people constantly say you can only use 20% of the cars in GT because it's simply not true at all, that's your choice to be 'car elitist' and only use those cars not a game fault, I use the standard cars and enjoy them, sure I would like a cockpit view but I'm not going to be an immature 🤬 and say I wont use them because they don't have cockpit view when nearly all my favourite cars are standards.

It's actually exactly the same as it was previously... Which dates back to GT1.

25 "autoset" settings and then individual ratios. So they really don't have much of an excuse on this one. You move the autoset slider to where you want it, then when you adjust the individual ratios at all it greys out the number (although if you click it again and move it, it'll autoset again, etc).

Wow the excuse for not being able to customise gears is stupid as hell. If they want to keep the top speed in there simply change it to adjusting final drive instead and show it changing the top speed.

The Top speed thing just seems like something they've added to make the whole process more accessible to the masses. I have no problem with it showing top speed, but the adjustment is basically the final drive adjustment just with a different name! Stick to final drive and have it just display the top speed. I can't believe they don't have the project management skills to get past simple problems like this, what happened to PD?

The Speed setting adjusts each single gear too, making them more widely spaced as the setting is increased and viceversa. It's not like the final gear setting.

The point is that they have been unable to create an interface to provide both an easy and an advanced way to set up gears, so they stuck with the speed setting.

Gahhh Just use the interface from Prologue!!!!
Isn't a Prologue a taste of the real deal???
Why does PD always try to reinvent the wheel.... no wonder they waste so much dev time.

Prologue's quick tuning interface is miles better than what we have now with everything on one screen.
It's just a matter of ghosting options you don't have the parts to adjust...
Prologue also allowed you to adjust steering wheel lock limits. If your racing you want to dial this down, when drifting the opposite
