They're just porting the cars over, what the hell is everyone's problem. If they cut the standards, you'd all still complain cause one of your favorites got cut.

And is GT7 here yet? Has anyone seen it? Do you know the standards are still gonna look horrible?

No.

So calm the hell down.

Everyone's problem is the standards date back to the PS2. Nobody wants to see assets ported over from 2 generations ago in a PS4 game.

It's about consistency, would it be acceptable to have PS2 assets for any PS4 game?. GT6 was bashed in reviews because of it.

For me it is about having a choice.

I never understood an uproar about Standard cars anyway.

Also, "consistency" would mean sacrificing enormous amount of content.

If I were being in position to make such choice, I would choose the same.

"I'd like to have a lot of those tracks back in the game as well, but I guess you can say that even our production teams ride certain trends when they're working. One of those is that we started out with all fantasy tracks when we first created Gran Turismo. But once the teams started researching methods of creating real tracks, that became the focus of their work, and less work was done on those fantasy tracks.

Though I think real, existing tracks are important, I also think that fully designed tracks are also very interesting and have their own place so I think that's something to look for in GT7."

Edit: @amar212 why not import cars from GT1 then if it's a choice, I know it will be a letdown to lose a big amount of cars, but I fail to see how is it acceptable that I play a race against PS2 era cars on my brand new PS4 console, there isn't a racing game that does it. Also why not import every track in GT's history?

I actually love the F1 / Grand Prix. But that's really a driver's sport. There's some distance there to actually making that into a game, but who knows -- you might just discover it all of a sudden.

In the collaboration that was announced with the FIA, my objective now is to really revitalize and reconstruct motorsports. That's also the dream of the FIA chairman and so that's the goals that we're working toward.

The last message in the FIA press conference was that this is for the expansion and prosperity of motorsports for the next 100 years. That's exactly it -- I've always wanted motorsports to become as popular as football or soccer and my feelings haven't changed regarding that.

Regarding photomode:
"
Gran Turismo actually really reflects my personal interests -- cars, photography, and video/film. So photo mode is something that's very important to me. So obviously I'm not pleased with the current rendition.

And I know how good it was in GT4, but it just so happened that the architecture of the PS3 wasn't really suited for this feature. But in PS4, I'm going to try to make sure that there's a photo mode that can satisfy any connoisseur of photography and you can really look forward to that -- because as a photographer, I'm really not satisfied with what we have yet.

"

ugh.

Well. Guess we'll have to make due with Spain and Italy until GT7.

I think the standard people are the same people who can't tell the difference between 30 and 60 fps, or between 720p and 1440p, or the difference between moldy pieces of human feces and a steak.

Face it amar, the uproar here is because the Standard cars are visually obsolete, recycling PS2 assets. And what people talk about consistency is about model quality consistency. 💡

Call me a cynic but I don't believe this AMA is actually Kazunori Yamauchi. The only "proof" is a picture which doesn't mention reddit anywhere. The answers don't seem very Kaz-like to me either.

I still don't see how some standards that are kept in are gonna piss everyone off.

Are you going to drive the cars? Probably not. So why complain? There's quite a few that should be premium yes, but why get so aggravated that they'll just keep the cars.

Besides, why are you all complaining? If anyone should be it's the photomode forums cause we have to try to fix the decals and bodies when we shoot them.

So would you mind if they add the cars and tracks from GT1 and 2?

It is not as if in Gran Turismo there is a game mode where you go onto a track with a car, and there are several other cars on the track that you don't have control over that you try to go faster than or anything.

Upon launch we were told we were going to be getting monthly DLC of cars and tracks but it has yet to arrive yet. When do you expect it to come out?

[–]KazunoriAMA[S] 1 point 4 minutes ago

I think there might be a misunderstanding there. I think I said "almost" every month. I also didn't say "DLC" per se, but that there would be an update almost every month.

No. No kaz.
You can't claim you didn't say something when it has been spread around the internet and was one of the MAIN SELLING POINTS OF YOUR GAME

Your press release outright stated there would be at 10 cars and 1 track per month after release, there's no contortion of words there IT'S WHAT YOU SAID

[–]KazunoriAMA[S] 1 point 4 minutes ago

Shiro: Yeah, because those designers are SO lazy. (joke)

That's not funny. It was a 100 percent legitimate question about the false advertisement of Gran Turismo 6.

Why can't I have my opinion?

I don't want to lose 800 cars.

My position has the same value as the other one.

You keep saying 800, there aren't anywhere close to 800 unique cars. Maybe 400/500 at latest count. Then you can easily lose a large chunk of those that weren't driven in GT5 and GT6 except a tiny percentage. Yes someone somewhere in the world will be disappointed a little Japanese econobox is gone but that's life, things come and things go. Plus they can still drive them in GT5/6 if they want.

So would you mind if they add the cars and tracks from GT1 and 2?

As the great Dillon Francis said, IDGAFOS.

If they wanna add in cars to drive, go ahead. I don't care. If they don't look good, I won't shoot them.

So in PS4 there gonna be gt7 which look like this (never will look like this...)

With 800 out dated, out of the place cars with i'ts low-res quality...

That's funny, I could've sworn Forza 5 was a Forza game, on Xbox One. Not a Gran Turismo game on PS4.

How exactly do you know that GT7 will look like this?
